  1. @@elrios1 - I think in a way it is like a re-boot (or re-birthday) when you are post-op.
  2. I wasn't full off my meds and didn't have issues swallowing. I was told the reason for the smaller size was the entrance into the stomach.
  3. @@More than this, if medically necessary it may be removed and covered by insurance. just want it out or at your goal....you pay to have it removed. this is what I was told by hospital, nut, doctor and BCBS.
  4. @@englandgirlsleever - any updates? still burning?
  5. check under the food and nutrition forum, there may be info there. I bought my stuff without going online.
  6. @@Puppypaws57 - you said it yourself, go back to counseling. let this go now!
  7. @@Sajijoma you are going to do so well. can you get into a pool? it may be easier on your knees or maybe a stationary bike? I push mowed the yard yesterday and it felt great! hydrate!
  8. good morning. I was told smaller than a regular M&M was ok. anything bigger has to be crushed. I break them in half. I was also told no gummies. I believe I can have them in a couple of months. I am about three months post.
  9. @@Shrinkmepls - start preparing now. if your weight changing isn't a big deal with insurance company....then start add-on type diet now! no sodas. more Water. find a Protein drink or two that you like. cut back on sugars and carbs. good luck!
  10. @@baylorbears281 are you moving around? if you are in severe pain then you need to contact doctor or go to ER.
  11. @@belindadcns, wish you the best of luck. you are going in December right?
  12. IMO I would add a small amt and wait and see if you have any adverse reactions. I am assuming you have cleared with both NUT and surgeon? I was told to start small, once I started pureed. I eat a small amount so I definitely want it seasoned.
  13. @@cat127 - good morning. I would week off the caffeine now a little less each day. I love coffee and tea. what kind of WLS are you having?
  14. @ - excellent response. @@elrios1 - it is hard not to see yourself any other way but obese when you have been heavy for a long time. we always judge ourselves too hard.
  15. pillow for ride home! hydrate as late as possible. happy re-birthday!
  16. @@ylluz - I almost did the lap-band for my adult daughter to eliminate her worries about forever changing my guts. I went with my "gut" and have the sleeve. WLS has to be all about your decision, your happiness, your life.... good luck!
  17. @@punklandia - like someone else mentioned...tea unsweetened??? the other culprit may be that you are eating too fast. I sit my fork down in between bites. the couple of times I have overdone it and ate one too many bites was when I was eating and NOT paying attention and putting food in my mouth - if you are eating more than about 20 minutes you also may be eating too much. Are you weighing out your food?
  18. @@samelton68 - Iron constipates me so for the moment I am not taking any additional beyond my flintstones chewable. I was taking a supplement of 27mg. I just did BW post-op for the first time (surgery was 5/6). Nurse said to go off extra iron and we will see where my levels are on 9/8. with miralax daily and extra veggie I am good.
  19. I followed my NUT and then saw my doctor 1 month post and he said to try to only eat 2 meals and if hungry in between eat veggies. I like his idea and I think he did it to help get the scale moving a bit better. I eat a Protein bar for breakfast, IF I am hungry, for breakfast. Small lunch and dinner. It works for me during the week. on the weekends I have a small breakfast ( couple of scrambled eggs) and a small dinner. I may eat a "snack" mid-day. I missed my veggies because of the protein first, veggies and then carb for meals the NUT said to follow.
  20. @@linzlou2000 - That day will be here in NO time - congrats! My DH is a federal employee and I had really very little out of pocket - less than $500. Being tired is probably the worst part - hydrate up until the last minute and walk, walk, walk! Try to not get to use to the hospital meds and go OTC as soon as possible. I use RX for night time starting the 2nd night home. I had a minimum 1 day stay. I was back at work 12 days post and that included two weekends. I have been one of the lucky ones in that respect
  21. @@ocean4dlm - YES! I agree with you. IMHO - Its like living in an abusive situation and until you reach that "awakening" moment you keep going back and back. If you are not REALLY ready, or awakened , you WONT change physically or psychologically. Its like motivation, you cannot motivate someone who refuses to help themselves. As someone who has been in a management/supervisor position I determined a few years ago there are two types of people in the world: Flushers & NON-Flushers A flusher is the person who flushes the toilet when done (for the next person). A NON-flusher does there business and leaves. WHY??? They feel its NOT their job, they are TOO busy, etc. They also feel that the next person can flush for them - - - - - - - - idiots.
  22. @@pink dahlia - ditto! THANKS everyone for sending in the pics! @@Dub - great thread!
  23. @@ylluz - do the surgery for yourself and NO ONE else! its your life, your knees, your back, your diabetes.... NO Regrets!
  24. I feel the same way. I take 10k of biotin and 500 mg of zinc. I also get my protein in and my hair is thinning:( I am 52 and early menopause.
