She doesn't make me look bad. She doesn't reflect on me in any way, as a matter of fact. I dare say she reflects on no one I know who has had WLS.

She's a very extreme example of WLS patients in general.

That's a lot of food. If you are eating food why do you need 2 shakes a day? You could cut one out and easily drop calories and carbs. I still can't eat more than one egg at a time.
    I'm 5 months and I eat between 700 -850 calories a day and I am typically stuffed.

Weights are truly the best thing ever. I have tried every single exercise on the planet and used to be sold on cardio exercises because they really help you drop pounds. The problem is that cardio did nothing for my muscles. I ran mile after mile and just ended up looking like a smaller version of myself. All of the wiggles and jiggles on my thighs (and the back of my thighs and butt!) were still there, and still hideous.
I started walking long distances and using heavy weights to do squats and OMG I promise (Bible) that my legs looked 75% better. It is truly amazing how weights can transform a problematic body area......and yes, that includes arms AND abs. If your doctor has cleared you, try doing weights every other day and cardio in between.

I started at 308 pounds and my experience is that weight loss slowly down, but take advantage of the "fast phase".
I lost nearly 30 in the first month. By 6 months i had lost nearly 100#. It took me to 14 months to lose 150#. I lost the last bit over an extended period of time while "in maintenance". Some lose faster, some lose slower... the important thing is to keep working the sleeve. Maintenance is basically the same game as weight loss.

It was coming off so fast for pre op and the first week after. I knew it would slow down some but I didn't think it would be this slow!

Omg you have no idea how bad I needed to hear this. I read about people losing 25 and 35 pounds in a month and I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong? I'm 28 days out and have only lost 16.6 pounds, makes me think maybe I'm not doing things so wrong after all. thank you for the reality check

Im 18 days post op and im not losing weight. Im currently on purees and dont even want to try soft foods because if im not losing weight at 600 calories whats gonna happen if they go up. Im getting my Protein 60-75 grams. Im drinking Water 30-40 oz and Im walking 2 miles a day. I just dont understand what Im doing wrong. Ive only lost 11 pounds in 18 days. my whole life has been a struggle to lose weight and now even surgery isnt working.

Liquid in liquid out. Honestly once you are on solids your poop will solidify. You might go the opposite direction and be constipated. If you are concerned about getting dehydrated, drink something like Gatorade or pedialyte to keep your electrolyte balance up.

I wish I had known the emotional effect. I have crying moments often even though I am so happy with my choice.

Today at 11:15 am I went into the OR. I really don't feel that bad other than the gas pain, but they have been pretty regular with the pain meds. I have managed 2 walks already, but I'm going to rest the rest of evening. So glad to be a loser!

I was sleeved on Oct. 7th. I'm having a hard time getting in my Protein. The Protein Shakes make me gag. I'm doing ok with Water and Soups. I know I'm not getting in enough calories. I hate the horrible taste in my mouth!! ???? Everyday is better though. Taking it one day at a time. I'm going back to work on Thursday, Oct. 16. I'm a teacher, so it should be interesting. :-)
