...posting about my sleeve experience. I was sleeved on Oct 6, last Monday. The same day after surgery, I could have nothing by mouth, which was hard for me because my mouth was soooo dry!! I was given a morphine PCA pump (a little button that I could push as often as every 8 minutes that would give me a dose of morphine), that was mmmm, interesting. I was so out of it that anytime a nurse/doc/my family came into the room, I would fall asleep talking to them, (kinda funny). I was in SOO much pain from the gas, I got up and walked my arse off, and it DID NOT help at all. I still today have gas. I puked twice, ouch, once in the middle of the night Monday, and the second time after the swallow test.

I was discharged the next day, still very groggy from the morphine. I took so many naps between Tues-Thurs. But, now I am feeling much more rested, still a little gassy, and very little incision pain.

I am eating cream Soups, which is saving me from trying to dig into everything at my house!

Getting tired of the shakes.

Hope everyone is doing well, and progressing!!! :)

I was sleeved on Oct. 7th. I'm having a hard time getting in my Protein. The Protein Shakes make me gag. I'm doing ok with Water and Soups. I know I'm not getting in enough calories. I hate the horrible taste in my mouth!! ???? Everyday is better though. Taking it one day at a time. I'm going back to work on Thursday, Oct. 16. I'm a teacher, so it should be interesting. :-)

I was having a hard time drinking the protein. I added a little cinnamon and it really helped the flavor oh and unsweetened hersheys cocoa to get better flavor. My nut also recommended mixing a 20 gram protein scoop with just 4 oz of skim milk. That way you get 24 oz of protein in just 4 oz. Its working. I was sleeved 10/7 and am getting 72 grams of protein a day

I was sleeved on the 13th. Struggling to get enough liquids. I'm basically on the same diet I was on 2 weeks before surgery. I feel so nauseated and just can't drink very much. I've read some of you are having cream Soups. Exactly what are you recent sleevers doing to stay hydrated, and what kind of soups are you eating? Any special preparation. I'm feeling pretty bad right now, can't help but question my decision. Please tell me it gets better. Thanks! Hope all of u are doing well!!!

I had VSG on 10/8 and I am using Premiere Protein premade shakes that are 30gm protein in 11oz. I have added Torino SF raspberry Syrup which helps. I also sometimes pour only 2-4 oz at a time. There is no way l can drink 11oz yet..

Babysteps!!!

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
