  1. I am trying to decide what I want my long term diet to look like. Everyone's doctor seems to have a different take on their eating guide. I'm confused about what's best for me- I'd like to open this up for debate and to see what others think. What has worked or is working for you? Any long term maintainers out there who can pitch in? What do your doctors say?
  2. If I eat and drink at the same time I'll puke for sure. Maybe that is because of my stricture. Not sure. I like the idea of ordering food and then just not eating much of it but the potions are always sooooo big!!! There isn't anything small to order and appetizers are all junk so I don't want them thinking I eat junk all the time! It's kind of funny I guess. Maybe I should just tell the truth. That would be really funny to see their reaction! I be like, see this body? You like? Well, it's missing 2/3ds of a stomach!
  3. Oh man. I get so nervous though and the wine helps me relax!! Plus there is no guarantee I won't get sick even if I don't fm drink and eat because of my stricture and stomach just hating food....
  4. I try that and they always end up dragging me to dinner!!! We meet at the bar and they always want to go eat! Or if not, that works for the first date but then the second date they want to eat. So I have to deal with it sooner or later! I'm so tired of this. I think I'm just going to start saying I'm allergic to food. Haha
  5. Do yourself a huge favor- go out and make more female friends asap!!!! Find new ones. The gym is a great place to do this. Find workout buddies! Take an art class, look for singles groups online for girlfriends. It's so so important. If your world revolves around men it's going to be rough going. I've also online dated a lot and still am. I love it. I let them take me out and wine and dine me and enjoy my company. If I'm not interested, then I don't go out with them again. I don't feel bad about that. I went through a highly sexual phase too and it was awesome. I didn't feel bad about it at all! I love sex (safe sex of course) and I love celebrating my new body. I never strung anyone along however. Trust me, guys can handle the truth. Just explain to them what your going through. It's okay to be real. I hope you have found your perfect guy. remember there are soooo many fish in the sea if he turns out to be a codfish. Now go out and make some female friends asap!!!!!!!
  6. Ideas please I'm dating a lot right now and I'm still having issues with a slight stricture that makes it difficult to eat. I also have major problems when I try and eat/drink at the same time, and when I go out I want to have wine. Problem is they want to order dinner. And I'd rather not eat of course. So I have to come up with some excuse as to why I don't and it's so awkward. Or I will try and eat and have to throw up mid way through the meal. It's really uncomfortable. I try and say I don't like dinner, or I just eat like a bird, etc and they always look at me like I'm crazy. In addition I HATE sweets now and they don't seem to get that either. Anyone have any ideas as to what I could say to get me out of having to eat on dates or what I could order than I could probably get down without wasting a bunch of food??
  7. Went boating with my family. They have had their boat for years and I never went because I was too embarrassed to wear a swimsuit. I also took my kids to a Water park. Bucket list: Shop in normal stores. Check! Start swimming and running again. Hike with my kids. Check! Go on a singles cruise Start dating again. Check! Wear heels again. Check!
  8. I relate to what your saying. Having been in a bad marriage which largely contributed to my weight gain, feeling depressed and the lowest ugliest most difficult time of my life- getting out of that and losing weight was like getting out of jail. The relationship I was in smothered the hell out of me and it felt so good to get free. When I started dating again I went a little crazy. I did eventually end up with a boyfriend- not hard to do looking like this. But I haven't been a very good girlfriend. I crave men's attention. It makes me feel so powerful,so wonderful. When I was overweight I felt invisible to men which was crushing. Especially because I'd only been overweight for five years and I was used to being much more attractive. So to have that back now feels awesome!!! I don't play with men's emotions but I do enjoy letting them take me on a date and getting their appreciation. I think their are lines you can't cross here. Enjoy the attention of men, that's fine- but keep it professional. You don't need to sleep with everyone you meet. Look for one you actually want to be with, or keep it casual with all of them. You can enjoy sexy and your body, but make it clear to them where your at if your not looking for a relationship. There is nothing shallow about enjoying your sexuality, your beauty, and your freedom. I am woman hear me roar!! But whatever you do, don't forget about or screw over your female friends. They are the ones we need the most in life!!! Don't chose men over them or let men become a bigger priority.
  9. I take the mini pill and skip the brown pills- were you doing that? It prevents my period from coming. I'm wondering why yours came if your skipping the placebo week? Strange. I hope my pills don't stop working!!
  10. At two years out, do you still think about your weight a lot? Are you at goal? Have you gained any back? I'm about to enter maintainence and it really freaks me out. Could you tell me a bit about what life is like for you now in terms of weight/food?
  11. Sorry you are going through this. I've been losing my hair for about 4 months now. I've lost about half my hair. It's still falling out but it has slowed somewhat and it's starting to grow back. The tide does turn eventually!!
  12. I'm sorry you and your wife are going through this. I will say I worked in the medical field and I've seen many, many people recover from cancer through the treatments they are offering today. Keep your hope high and know that medical science is an amazing thing. All my thoughts with you and your wife.
  13. I'm in! I'm almost to goal weight and would love to there by then. Cw 122. Goal weight 119.
  14. I'm so happy for you. I remember when I was trying to lose weight some stupid diet book said to put tape over the scale and the write the number you want to be on it. Ha! The power of visualization. How ridiculous. No need for you to do that anymore is there? The number on my scale still trips me out as well. It's hard to believe. I'm so happy for you and your success.
  15. I weigh almost everyday. I hate seeing the number go up so I avoid weighing on days I think it might have because I ate more the day before. Weight fluctuations are normal. I've gone up a couple pounds before but ultimately the number keeps dropping.
  16. woooooooooo hoooooo! You are amazing!! You go woman!!!
  17. Haha! Thanks everyone. Your so right.
  18. It's not constant anymore. It's gotten so much better. Mostly I'm just running into trouble if I drink while I eat it if I eat too fast. Thank you everyone for your input. It's definitely a hard process
  19. My family, mainly my mom and ex-husband, have been commenting that I'm obsessed with my weight loss. They say it's all I ever talk about or think about and they think I should move on. Well, it's been 9 months since my first surgery. And before that I spent 6 years being fat and hating myself. I didn't take care of myself, I couldn't wear nice clothes or heels, men looked right past me, women felt sorry for me. I was told by my mom and my ex what a mess I was and how sad it was I'd let myself go on a repeated basis. I was basically living in despair. I wake up everyday now and feel like I've won the lottery. I love having my picture taken, buying and wearing the latest fashions, doing my hair and makeup. I love looking at myself in the mirror and basically I'm just floating around in cloud nine to be given this second chance at life!! Don't you think, at only nine months out, and only a couple months of goal weight, I should be allowed to feel great and proclaim it from the rooftops for awhile? My friends don't say I'm obsessed with myself or my weight loss. They Celebrate it with me!
  20. Started at 245is. Now 122. I'm 5'6. I had surgery 9 months ago.
  21. Keep in mind Bella, EVERYONE wants to get to 100%. True. What I'm trying to say is don't go in with the mindset of "I want to lose x amount, but statistically I'll probably only lose xx amount." Thats setting yourself up for only losing 65%! This game is mental more than anything and our minds can manifest outcomes!! Go in fully confident in yourself committed to doing what it takes to get to your goal weight. I've seen many more people here achieving goal weight than not.
  22. Gosh that is incredible!!!
  23. You look absolutely amazing. I'm sure you must be in heaven and I'm so happy for you!
  24. Aren't you going to eat something? There you go... Good job! And the looks I get from people, both admiring and jealous and in disbelief. It's so weird
