  1. That's true. I just think now is a very hard time for you to be around those foods and I feel for you. I was lucky and didn't have to do a pre op diet
  2. Will you be trying to change their diets after you have surgery? Why not have a talk with them about helping you out now by eating more healthfully. You shouldn't be having to go get macdonalds and donuts. That's so unfair. Your life is about to change and they need to realize it has to change for everyone
  3. This is me now. Down 120 ish pounds since I began this thread.
  4. I started at 240 and now weigh 123. I'm 5'6 and 34 years old.
  5. The nurse had to use an extra small cuff to take my bp. I looked down and low and behold, my thighs don't touch. I have a thigh gap! The nurse at my go thought I was the wrong patient because I'd lost 100 pounds. Lots of people don't recognize me. Asking the sales ladies at stores to bring smaller sizes. Getting around a table without anyone having to move their chair. Wearing a bikini and swimming with my kids.
  6. sleeping on five pillows so I could breathe. Not being able to lay on my back. Yoga moves to wipe my butt. Not being able to shave my bikini line. Or cut my toe nails. Or put my shoes on. Having to sit down to put on my underwear. Having to pee all the time. The grocery bill. The restaurant bill. Eating alone out of embarrassment. Using the largest bathroom stall and dressing room. The size of my underwear. Not being able to find my bra size. Plus size stores!!!!!! The ugly shoes I had to wear, the ugly clothes. My hair always being greasy from the crap I ate. The black stretch pants. Thigh rash.
  7. I'm in Fresno a lot. My best friend is also there, she had rny 3 years ago.
  8. I had surgery with a weight of 240 after the diet. My rny was fine at first but I started having complications. To this day we aren't sure what caused them, but after four months in and out of the hospital I had my surgery reversed and had gastric sleeve instead. It's very rare to do this but this was my surgeons suggestion. My first surgeon was a total jerk and was very unsupportive. It was a tough experience and very scary. I had two pic lines and went days without eating or drinking. After my sleeve surgery, my major complications stopped, but I have never been able to transition to solids. My sleeve surgery was March 2015 and I've never had a full meal. I found a new surgeon who has diagnosed me with a stricture and scar tissue in the spot they reconnected my pouch from the rny with the new sleeve stomach. He has done one dilation on me but it did not help. He wants to continue the dilations. The ironic thing is that he says if the dilations don't work, I may have to go back to rny. So I'm 123 pounds at 5'6 and still losing about two pounds per week. I can't seem to settle on a weight loss goal and I'm terrified of entering maintainence. On the positive side, because this post is not in any way intended to be negative towards this surgery- I have never looked or felt better. I feel amazing in my new body. I love the way I look now. I Celebrate this body by dressing up and buying clothes and enjoying a dating life and a social life I would never have had otherwise. My confidence is through the roof. My back pain is gone and I have more energy for my kids and life in general. This surgery have my my life back and released me from the chain of a food addiction. I would do it again in a second!!!! Again and again. Because guess what? Nothing tastes as good as thin feels. Period. I hope my story helps you in your journey. I highly recommend this surgery, it is a wonderful tool that can give you the leverage you need to lose weight and the truth is the vast majority of people do not have complications. I would do it again in spite of mine and I'm happy to answer any questions anyone has for me. Here are some photos of me. I haven't had any plastic surgery and don't plan to. Before: Most recent: The last one, me swimming with my kids, is something I could never have done without this surgery.
  9. Some pictures of me along the way. I haven't had any plastic surgery and have a little bit of loose skin on my belly and I'd like a tummy tuck someday. There is a little on my legs arms and neck also but it's really mild and doesn't bother me, I don't need plastics there. Before: During: Most recent:
  10. Hi my name is Bella. I've lost about 120 pounds from 150 highest to 123 today. I had my sleeve surgery dec 2015. Still getting used to this new way of eating. There are definitely ups and downs. I've been through a lot but I would do it again!!!
  11. Do what I did. I stuffed my pockets with weights and drank a gallon of water. Totally worth it. I had five pounds to gain for a forty BMI and I wasn't going to gain it!!!
  12. Try drinking more water. It really helps. Also working out more. It seems counterintuitive but it works like a charm.
  13. Lots of water. More veggies and fruit. Decaf coffee. Beans.
  14. My surgeon said drinking is fine. Go figure ?
  15. You look great!!! But is that a cigarette in your handy hand???? Hahahah. I'm not one to talk I cheat too especially if I drink. Just thoughts if tease you. You look amazing. My best friend had the same stats as you and got to the 140s.
  16. I'm eight months out from surgery and have surpassed my initial weight loss goal. I may lose a little more. I'm trying to talk myself into maintenance but it's hard to make that transition I'm 35 years old. Sw: 250. Cw:123. Height 5'6 Then: At 130 lbs: I've lost a bit more now. Definitely very close to the least I want weigh.
  17. It's really hard to maintain people. Eating makes me sick and I can't deal with the fear of gaining or the feeling of having food in my stomach. I also have a stricture going on. My weight is rapidly falling past the healthy stage. Maintaining is a huge mind fuck and anyone who doesn't know this just hasn't gotten there yet!!
  18. Good luck. It's really tough. I'm your height and keep dropping. Now at 123.
  19. I haven't had any plastics so yes it could be better, but I'm happy enough with how I look to wear it. yes people do end up in bikinis!
  20. I am struggling with this as well. I am close to being underweight for my height and am scared to stop losing because I feel safe watching the scale go down and I don't want to tackle maintenance. I also feel there are places on my body I wish fat wild come off still. I sympathize completely.
  21. I'm not trying to rub anything in. I'm struggling hugely with this. I am becoming basically anorexic on top of having a stricture that makes me vomit all day I cant mentally deal with stopping my weight loss. I'm now at 123 pounds and I'm officially under the weight my doctor wants me at (135) and if I keep losing past 115 I'll be in dangerous territory if I'm not already. I have extreme anxiety about gaining weight and I don't feel comfortable except seeing the scale move downward and my weight goal just keeps dropping. I know I have to end this and maintain but it feels so scary and overwhelming to eat. I was hoping someone else on here could relate to what I'm going through. There is such a thing as losing too much weight. I'm beginning to look sickly.
