  1. I'm not obsessive about it, but it does help put the breaks on trends. lol
  2. I can't eat bread. My partner is watching his triglycerides. He doesn't eat breads or rice or Pasta very much. Neither do I. I don't miss them. I take Vitamins. If something is working for you, I wouldn't give a second thought to what anyone else is doing. It's your body, after all.
  3. Ah, in your first post you didn't mention that you were throwing up. Throwing up is not normal! Restriction is and should slow your eating. Many folks are tighter in the morning than any other time of day, so eating Breakfast might take a while. You might need to work on that grazing, though. Hundreds of calories sneak through. You might try keeping a food journal, I use sparkpeople.com online. It's free. You might be amazed at how many calories you are eating. While the band helps, YOU are the one who decides what you eat and when. Go for it.
  4. I eat tuna all the time with no issues, but I will avoid hard boiled eggs like the plague. I had my worst pb on hb eggs.
  5. I had only been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes a couple of months when I had the band. I quit taking the junuvia (sp.) cause I was keeping under 140 with diet and exercise. However I quit losing and was going up and down the same five pounds, also my BG started getting wacky high. I started taking the meds again and have lost five pounds in a few days. Does that make any sense?
  6. I take centrum chewable vitamins. I cannot eat enough to get a balanced diet with the band (all the servings of fruits and vegetables, etc.).
  7. I have to try to stick to 1200 maximum, but really I seldom make it up to 1200 calories. I think the difference is that I look at food and think about food in a totally different way now. It's just something I have to do. I enjoy it, but I don't live for it. I don't think the calories are different, it's the ease with which we can stick to a limit that is the difference.
  8. I use sparkpeople.com and I love it. I love the feature on sparkrecipes.com that allows you to enter a recipe and then gives you the nutritional info. Also it lets you enter "food groups" and since I have the same breakfast most days, it saves typing.
  9. It was recommended to me to dilute fruit juice by half at first to avoid getting an upset stomach.
  10. Realize band vs. Lap band - Lap Band Talk Forum - The largest forum for Lap Band Surgery Discussion and Lap Band Surgery Support Click the above to go to another thread that was on this site about this topic. You can always search on a topic before you post just in case . . . I don't think there is much difference between one band and another. I think they both work.
  11. I'm sorry this is a struggle for you. Your body has been through a lot, with the surgery and the Fluid diet and all. I think the not eating is also a sort of sensory derprivation. Do you have any sugar free popsicles you could chew on? Hang in there, just remember we all went through it and that this is a short period of your life (even though it doesn't feel it). You will do fine.
  12. Banded March 5, and down 30 pounds.:wink2:
  13. I don't have a whole lot to add to this conversation, except to say, we took a law suit to the US Supreme Court over prayer at graduation. The Supreme Court delayed until my child graduated and then declared the case moot. I will say this: I learned more about hate from Christians than from any other group.
  14. We just got a trikke and are looking forward to using it. I can't wait. Just bumping this thread up a notch.
  15. I do track my calories as much as possible. Sometimes, it's not possible and I just live with it. It's the only way I really know whether or not I should be losing. I also weigh my food. Everyone is different, though.
  16. I had an issue with deviled eggs. I love deviled eggs, but I won't be having them again in the forseeable furture. PB.
  17. Liquids only don't have to be sweet. You can have all sorts of broth and cream soups if you are past clear liquids. I had a lot of pumpkin and butternut squash soup and some really good tomato soup (not campbells). It is a very short period of time that will improve the rest of your life. Hang in there.
  18. My entire family would be grossed out if I lifted my shirt and offered to let them touch my port. lol
  19. Actually I never feel hunger. I'm about two months out. My pouch gets full easily, it's not stuck and it doesn't hurt unless I force myself to eat more.
  20. I used to tell my children that being hungry is NOT an emergency. It's true, it's not. You are worth taking the time to do it right. Plan ahead. Keep on truckin'.
  21. Ah, I'm talking only a pb. For me it's from drinking or eating too fast. Nothing stuck is involved. Might be a difference.
  22. I've never choked with a pb. Maybe just me.
  23. There are lots of different regional satay recipes. I just used my old standby, which is Thai, and mix up the pb2 and use in it. Huge huge savings in calories.
  24. There was a thread earlier on PB2. I use it for satay sauce and put it in chocolate sugar free pudding.
  25. Some people receive fills the day of surgery and do have restriction from the beginning.
