"sweet spot" ??????????????????????
It's always important to remember that when we "cheat" we are only cheating one person - ourselves.

OMG!!! Dinner Party Disaster
You've never heard of carpet in a bath room? Are you in the US? lol:biggrin2: I have two bathrooms that are carpeted and no problems keeping them clean.

Gadgets
That calorie burn must count what you burn just by breathing. I like my pedometer. I just try to make 10,000 steps a day. I too, find myself doing extra stuff.

Does your doctor recommend a high protein/low carb diet?
My son, who is a diabetic educator, has tried in his best gentle manner to get me to eat a balanced diet. I do. It's fine.

My friend is losing her mind! HELP!
Very true and just as it is a huge change for us, it can be a huge change for others in our lives. It is a good idea to remember that.

Getting an un-fill during vacation??
Mr, if you are so tight you can only eat soft foods, then I believe you are too tight.

Things People Pass Off For Compliments and Things Skinny People Say That Piss You Off
I quit smoking a year ago. I'd say it's still acceptable to discriminate against smokers. Smoking is still legal. Crystal I've seen women be very rude to other women they thought were thinner, prettier, dressed better, etc. Fat people, myself included, aren't the only ones who suffer from others thoughtlessness. I did have a woman approach me once in after a meeting, I'd never met her, and she said "I used to weigh three hundred pounds, but I had lap band surgery, I can't reccomend it enough." I replied, "Too damned bad they couldn't make you smarter, too." Damn that pissed me off.

I get hiccups generally when I'm full. It's my "soft stop" signal.

Anyone use fake plants/flowers outdoors?
I love gardening, but I realize that not everyone does. Just do whatever gives you some joy. If that is fake flowers, then go for it.

Healthy side dishes -Kid friendly?
How about a nice green salad with some of those baby corn on the cob things. My grandkids love those. Sweet potato fries?

Could my first fill be enough?
I had three ccs put in at surgery and have never needed anything else. I was banded on March 5. I haven't had any hunger and I can eat about a cup of food at a time. I'm not sure that a volume measure is really much to go by because a cup of chocolate cake vs. half a cup of Protein and half a cup of green Beans is a world of difference. I just track my calories and stay under 1200. I'm totally content and not worried about setting speed records, as long as I'm losing steadily.

PBing vs. Vomiting
I'm sorry you are having this difficult struggle, Carolb. Perhaps you could just choose one thing to work on. Drinking the Water, or exchanging the candy for sugar free. I would get all of the unhealthy food out of the house for a while. Hang in there, you can do it.

I need help
For me it was almost like a sensory deprivation issue. I missed the sensations of eating. I had no hunger and I still don't. You'll be fine. Keep busy. Keep your eye on the prize. I had two weeks of liquids (clear and full) before and four weeks after surgery. If I can do it so can you.

Am I Alone?????
If their weight is going upward, do you reckon they should wait until they weigh as much as I do? (140 pounds overweight) At one point I was only 75 pounds over weight and I wasn't exactly successful at losing it or at keeping it at bay. No. I got fatter and fatter. It happens. Try to focus more on your own success, because I know you will have it. You are on your way. :cursing: I don't think it's mean at all, I think the grass is just always greener . . . .

Does anyone get the LB removed just because they don't like it?
Unfortunately there is no way to test the band prior to having it put in. If there were, I'm sure (judging from some posts on this forum) that some people would opt out. It's just like anything else, not for everyone.

The new exercise equipment....
Two days of trying to ride my trikke and I'm grounded with a knee that isn't functioning too well. I'm not sure what I did to it, but it was from the trikke. I'll try again when my knee is healed up.

Swedish Fish???
Sooo . . . Some people have got them stuck and some people haven't. All you have to do is ask yourself "Do I feel lucky today?" Remember maybe some people who eat them may be without restriction, in which case they can eat just about anything. It might be a good opportunity to find a more healthy substitute.

Soda soda soda
Since you are trying to achieve a new level of health, it might be the best to just give up soda. It's so unhealthy, even the diet kind. I wouldn't give soda pouch space, and I used to be a heavy duty coke drinker.
-
Do you follow the band rule?
Same with me, I can't drink after eating, it would just show up again.
