  1. Hi there, I am also a big time Disney nut! We go to WDW every year. I am going to be banded in February and we booked our next trip planned for Sept 27-Oct 3. We booked the bounceback when we were there last Sept for free dining. I am also curious to read about people that have been there after banding and seeing how they did with everything. The only think that sucks about the dining plan is that you can't share food so a lot of ours will go to waste. I am more worried about the rides than the food! I love all their thrill rides and don't want that to effect my band.
  2. I'm in also! My 2008 goal is 438 hrs at the gym which is about 1.5 hrs a day.
  3. I personally haven't seen him, but I am seeing Dr Wetherille at Park Nicollet as he does most of their banding. But when I was looking for a doctor I found some info on him at OH here's the site: Bariatric Surgeon Profile - Thomas A. Jones, M.D.
  4. Are you referring to Dr Thomas Jones at Park Nicollet?
  5. Hi I think we should come up with a kick ass name for us being February bandsters. What do you think? What about the "Lovin' Losers" ?
  6. Mine requires a 10 day high protein liquid diet. My menu consists of Slimfast, Boost, Ensure and Carnation Instant Breakfast along with any calorie free beverages.
  7. Thanks! Congrats to you too!!! What a way to start 2008 right? As yucky as it sounds, I can't wait to start my pre-op diet. Just because I know that surgery will be right around the corner. Do you know what you are planning to drink yet? I looked around at the grocery store when I was buying stuff for Christmas dinner. I know I can drink slimfast but I don't know if I want to drink that for all 10 days. Much luck to you on your surgery and a speedy recovery!
  8. Good question, I'm curious to know this also!
  9. Well I am now official! I GOT MY DATE! I met with Dr Wetherille today and he was really nice. He is very intelligent and I am confident with him as my surgeon. He was set to do the surgery in early January but I have stupid HP and have to wait until my 10 week session is over. I scheduled my surgery for Monday Feburary 11, 2008!
  10. It's official, I GOT MY DATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited, I am finally going to be onthe losing end! My new birthdate is going to be Feburary 11, 2008!
  11. I am officially a Feb 08' bandster! WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!:clap2: I just got my date today and I am scheduled for 2-11-08 my new birthday.
  12. It's 5 classes over 10 weeks and 5 classes afterward. I had my 1st phone consult last week and it went well. It was very easy but like you said, I felt like the information was like a CD on repeat. I think it's good for people that aren't well informed, but Park Nicollet patients have to go through a bunch of things before they can have surgery. As of right now, I am set to finish the course the first week in Feb. I meet with Dr Wetherille on Thurs so I am hoping to get my surg date then.
  13. I think that's great advice. I was just approved for surgery yesterday and I have HealthPartners insurance so I have to go through a 10 week phone course consult before I can have the surgery. So as of right now, it looks like I will be banded in February. I am glad that I have enough time to really think things through and get myself mentally and physically prepared for the procedure.
  14. I was so happy yesterday after finding out that I was approved for surgery that I didn't think this week could get any better. That is until today....... I recieved a call from my programs office this morning schueduling me to see the surgeon. They were able to get me in next week on 12/20! This will be my first meeting with him so I am really looking forward to it. It seems like everything is falling into place finally and I am on my way to being banded in February. What a great early Christmas present!
  15. Welcome! What a great job on your weight loss! I did a search and found that book on amazon.com [ame=http://www.amazon.com/LAP-BAND-Solution-Partnership-Weight-Loss/dp/0522854125]Amazon.com: The LAP-BAND Solution: A Partnership in Weight Loss: Books: Paul O'Brien MD[/ame]
  16. I just found out that my insurance approved me for surgery today I am so excited! I was really worried that something was going to happen to where I couldn't get it. Next step....... On to see the surgeon
  17. Thanks for the info on Dr Wetherille, I am really looking forward to meeting with him. Park Nicollet did inform me that he is only going to be doing lap band surgeries from now on so that made me really optimistic.
  18. I love snow at Christmas time. It's absolutely beautiful. Now it can all melt after the holidays though. Job hunting in California I'm jealous! I love the San Diego/Coronado/La Jolla area. I could definitely live in 70 degree weather year round.
  19. Congrats on your journey!
  20. Hi Pizzicato66, I am going through the process at Park Nicollet and chose Dr Wetherille. I am really curious about him and I haven't met anyone that's had him as a surgeon. Can you tell me anything about him, like his bedside manner? I won't get to meet with him until after my appts at the end of December.
  21. I have been looking into banding since I was 19. I am 25 now and hopefully I will still be 25 when I have the surgery.
  22. I was kind of curious about this as well. I don't drink coffee very often maybe like 1x every other month. I wonder if I would have to give up my Starbucks. I am going to ask my surgeon. They did tell me that some caffine was ok.
