2 year anniversary
:clap2:July 27th was my 2 year anniversary and I could not be happier. It has been the best decision for me and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I lost 88 pounds my first year and have been up and down about 4 lbs. this second year. I do still do my walking BUT have found myself getting in bad habits such as ice cresam in evenings and some chips and dip. I do have to watch the old habits. I do feel SSOOOO much better and have a little more energy. I had my surgery at 56 YO, so it is a little harder than a younger person but still good. I am looking at TT in Sept. and have been to 2 DR's for consults. I started at 297.5 and now at 213 lbs. At my age I feel this is where I will probably be but 180 would be nice.:clap2: DR said I would be a candidate to have it done with success. Just the belly keeps me in a size bigger I feel. Thanks for listening as I usually am just a reader here and not a writer but did want to share my success.

July 05 Bandsters 1 year Bandiversary Coming
Congrats to all the July '05 bandsters!! Great work. My anniversary is the 27th. Down 83 pounds and very happy. I do walk 6 of 7 days a week for 40 minutes and do look forward to it. NEVER thought I would say that!! I eat about 1-2 cups depending on day. No bread, eggs sometime, no steak except a taste of my DH's. Eat lots of fish and chicken. I am finding myself snacking at night with popcorn and sherbet or SF-FF pudding. And a few cookies but not everyday. I need to watch that tho. Looking forward to next year too. Start 297.5 and now 214.5---- I would do this again in a heartbeat!!

To Booze or Not to Booze
Congrats on your decision. I do frozen marguaritas every Friday and they go down good but makes my restriction tighter. BUt I do it anyway and eat SLOW. It just tastes so good in this hot southern weather. I did not do it for first 6 months. Now 11 months out and will write at my 1 year anniversary.

Newbie
Welcome Willybe! This is a great place to research and find great support. I have lurked here for a year before I registered and had surgery on 7-27-05. It is a journey and everyone is individual but still many similarities. I used to wonder what they were talking about, PB'ing but you do learn for yourself soon enough. Good luck and hope to share your journey.

Excellent read for pre.bandsters. I read several times when researching and also many times waiting for my surgery. Definitely worth the money. I would be glad to mail to anyone. 2aslimmerme.

Attention!!! Any July 2005 Bandsters
Banded 7-27-05 and doing good. I had first fill 9-12-05 and don't have any restriction. I do try to eat right, good choices and sometimes eat too fast but so far never had the PB yet. Down 30 lbs. and do walk about 6 times a week for 30 minutes. I do snack on Protein crisps but they are better than chips. I can still eat bread but so far have chosen it only twice and have had toast a few times. I am pleased with my band so far and as long as scales go down, even slowly, I am happy. I feel like I am still "living normally". Start wgt. 297.5, now 268.0 unofficial 5' 4''

Hello! Calling all Georgians, anybody there?
Hello fellow GA bandsters. I live in Kennesaw and work in Calhoun and had Dr. Ponce do my OR on 7-27-05. SO far so good, but no fill yet but I am eating a lot less. Just started on solids. I am looking forward to my 1 month visit on Thursday. So far I have lost 22 lbs. since my consult. Hope after a fill it picks up but as long as it keeps gong down I will be happy. Good luck to you future bandsters. Bonnie

im a little confused
I had to pay surgeon and hospital upfront for deductible and 20% and it was about $3000.00. I feel this is good and not have to pay all $20,000.00 myself. But all insurances are different. Good luck!! I am 5 days paot op and back to work tomorrow.

I am 4 days post op and still feel sore and bloated. I have expelled gas and lots of burps. I still get nuasea feeling when walking long distances but have pushed on. (like to store with DH). Now back home. This AM had terrible time with 4 days no bowel movement. Finnally fot a little relief after much straining. ANyone else have this? Still not hungry but do drink some H2O, dilited juice, and some coffe. jJust had a SF popsicle and it set OK. I am sure we will be better in time. I go back to work on Monday, one more day to recoup. No one knew of this in my family and only 2 other friends who had it done before me. Keep us informed of your progress. Bonnie

Protein Shake tastes like card board!!
Did not have to use it. I used Boost and Slimfast. They wanted uzs to use Glucerna but I opted for 2nd and 3rd choices. They have tasted good to me. I have surgery tomorrow and have done my 2 week pre-op liquids. I could have broth, tomato soup, sugarfree popsicles and fudgcicles, and yogurt. Now I have surgery and 2 more weeks of liquids and then slush anmd mush. I am ready but anxious. The time does go by fast especially if you work outside of home. Good luck.

Hi All from NY
Welcome Grandma9. I have twins myself, 31 YO boy & girl with 6 grandchildren. My youngest is 9 YO so not much running after them anymore. We do milder games like Monopoly. I am getting banded tomorrow and hope I am as successful as SOOO many have been here. Everyone has been so supportive as I just joined the sight after viewing for MANY months. It really puts a good perspectve on how so many have handled it in so many different ways but so many common also. Thanks for sharing your story.
