  1. Congrats and SO glad to hear you found a good Dr. Robin
  2. Update - I stopped taking any Lexapro and just like magic my sex drive returned. It's awesome, but now without that med. I feel like I want to beat the snot out of anyone who ticks me off. I can't win!! Robin
  3. Sheemac, Those girls should be ashamed of themselves. I know how you feel though. A month or so ago we had one of our first nice spring days here (Wisconsin) so I decided to take the dog for a walk. We were bookin' down the sidewalk and went past a bar. I hear a guy say "Goddamn dog's in better shape than she is!". When I heard that I stopped and looked back. It was dark in there and I had sunglasses on so I couldn't see the person who said it, but I flipped the bird in the direction of the door anyway! If i'd have known who said it I would have said "You should have seen me 80 pounds ago, a$$hole!"! I was absolutely blown away that a grown man would be so cruel. It wounded me but I had to rationalize and consider the source. What kind of lowlife has nothing better to do on a beautiful day than to park his ass in a bar and try to make his pathetic life seem better by insulting someone else? Some people just suck. Keep your chin up because you have more class than those girls will probably ever have in their entire lives. Robin
  4. Thank you so much! Robin
  5. Speaking of getting names wrong - my last name is Vande Hei, so you can imagine how people butcher that! The best one is this: I have a friend named Chris Behrend. He got a Reader's Digest in the mail addressed to "Chris Rearend"! Classic! Robin
  6. Hi all, Shiny and Kat, I was SO glad to read from you both about eating more than a few bites at a time! I've read so many posts where people are stuffed from 2 or 3 bites that I was wondering what in the heck was wrong with me! I eat a lot more than that! Thanks for calming my fears! Robin
  7. Sorry Foofy - I added an extra letter to your "name"!
  8. Thanks, everyone! Your support makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside! Foorfy, I don't have a secret. I wish I did! Then maybe I could kick up the exercise and stop eating the junk I've been gravitating toward lately! Robin
  9. Hi everyone, I just wanted to share what I realized yesterday: I am 2/3 of the way to my goal weight. Sounds good when you say it that way, doesn't it?! Robin
  10. Generally I think that dreams are fragments of things that are in the back of our minds. I also think that sometimes they don't "mean" a darn thing. Last week I dreamt that my HUSBAND was pregnant and in labor; and I punched my neighbor in the face for using a chainsaw outside at 4 AM. WTH?? What would Freud think of me?? Robin
  11. Favorite: when I lay on side I actually have a nice curve that's almost like...the hourglass!Hate: batwings!
  12. Kat,I know I'm just echoing everyone else's sentiments, but I really enjoy your posts and the lovely advice you give to people! By the time you read this your surgery will probably be over with, but know that I was pulling for you the whole time! Best of healing to you!Robin
  13. Apples2, just let me know when you need her!! Robin
  14. This has nothing to do with the band or eating, but I thought I'd share! On Mother's Day, we stopped to see my M-I-L. When we were leaving, M-I-L said "thank you for coming", and my (8 year old) daughter said "Well, we didn't really have a choice." (!!) The child has no "filter". On the inside I was laughing hysterically, as I had to agree with her 100%! Robin
  15. Thanks for the ideas, folks. I was leaning toward a gift card anyway! That's what I get the teachers for Christmas too. Robin
  16. Hi, As I'm sure you know this week is teacher appreciation week. I was wondering if you could give me gift ideas for my daughter's teacher (3rd grade). I've done the usuals in the past - flowers, candy, etc. Is there something that teachers actually WANT to receive? I'm not talking a major investment, just something small but meaningful and/or useful. Thanks a bunch in advance, and God bless the teachers!! Robin
  17. I have 4 words for you: 50 pounds is FANTASTIC. 4 more words: other people are STUPID. You have lots to be proud of - don't let some people's ignorance take anything away from that. Robin
  18. kathystrick - I loved Greg Evigan too!! Do you remember him on "My Two Dads"? Robin
  19. I just remembered! Moppets Secret Dollhouse!!!
  20. As a teen I was at a Whitesnake concert and had my hair in a banana clip. Some guy sitting behind me thought it would be cool to light my hair on fire! No major damage, luckily! I had a girl and a boy monchichi. They could suck their thumbs I think... I also had a small doll that I can't remember what it was called. She had this big "skirt" that, when on, would cover this round 3-room house she had. So cool. Anyone remember this? Is the Hoff wearing a sweater under that jacket????? This is truly a blast from the past. I forgot (repressed??) so many of these things... Robin
  21. Hi all - I have a joke for you. Having lost some weight, a middle-aged woman was admiring her "new" body in her full-length mirror. Seeing this, her husband said "What on earth are you doing?!". She told him "my doctor says I have the breasts of an 18 year old". Annoyed by this, the man then said "Well, what did he say about your 55 year-old ASS??!" To this the woman cooly replied "Your name never came up!" Have a great day! Robin
  22. ssh, I totally agree with you. My mom asks me this question every time I see her, which could be multiple times per week! For some reason it just burns my bacon! I know she means well, but it seems like she feels obligated to ask me. She is MO and would never have the drive to change her lifestyle and have WLS, so I'm no longer her Burger King partner. Perhaps she feels left behind and that's why it doesn't come off as sincere. I don't know. You know?? Robin
  23. Hi everyone! I'm glad to finally see such a response here in the 30's!! To the pre-banded: good luck and stick to your pre-op diet - it sucks but will not last forever. You can do it! To the newly banded: hang in there - the diet progression sucks too, but you will be eating "real" food soon! To the rest of us: keep on keepin' on!!!! And you all thought I was going to impart some deep wisdom to you! Nope!!!! Take care, all! Robin
  24. Barbie, I am not in your area, but remember that all of us here are just a mouse click away when you need someone to talk to! Robin
  25. 80s, Welcome & congrats on your surgery! I am about 5 1/2 months out from mine. There doesn't seem to be a lot of traffic here in the thirties. Maybe we can change that! Robin
