This is such a huge milestone for me. I'm not at goal yet and still have about 20 lbs to go but... I've lost a hundred pounds!! Had my band taken out and the sleeve done on the same day last year December 30th. I feel so much better even though I have my battle wounds. I'll likely have to have my arms done at some point but for now I'm in a size 8 and I am very proud of myself. Thank u for being here for me along the way.

lessofmevsg reacted to vincereautmori in BAD stall- almost 5 mths out...
I thought I'd throw in my two bits from a mans perspective. I hear ya on stalls, in the beginning they really bothered me, but after almost three months I'm learning that they are just a symptom of the surgery. I seem to lose for about two weeks then stall for two weeks, but the weight is coming off and as it does I'm feeling better and stronger. When everyone says your body is changing even in stalls, they're right! Personally, I don't take measurements, but since before surgery in August I was wearing a 46" waist in my jeans and 3XL shirts were snug, now three months later, I'm wearing 40" waist and I just tried on 38" and they are just a little snug and same for XL shirts, maybe another 5- 10 lbs. to be comfortable. So the moral of the story is, the scale only tells part of the story, and stalls are just part of the process, let the journey unfold, your journey is unique for you. Looks like you're doing OK, keep it up and have faith in your new lifestyle.

@lessofmevsg...you are in patient. You didn't get to 264 pounds in 7 weeks, don't expect to lose it all in 7 weeks. Be patient...breath...You're doing great.
My starting weight and loss were almost the same as yours.
Stop weighing to much is bad for your soul. Start taking your measurements - it's totally worth it. Also, start documenting with pictures. My husband hid the scale from me and brought it out once per week - that saved my sanity.

Can't wait. It seems like it will never happen. Sometimes I wonder if my stomach is small enough lol or if the surgery even worked. I know it did, but sometimes with the slow weight loss I feel ill never get where I want to be. Anyone else ever have those thoughts? Not being negative, just impatient. Slow and steady I know. I've read that there are months or weeks where we stall and lose at a greater rate but I would love to have a good losing month. I've had the stall during week 3-7 lol. My weight loss is very slow but I'm shrinking. I think I should break up with my scale for a while.

Hi. I had all the same issues as you and concerns as you with a slow thyroid. My ac1 before surgery was 9.5 and my family doctor wanted me to start insulin. After talking with my sleeve surgeon I decided to have the sleeve. Had my post op blood work done almost exactly 3 months post surgery. Ac1 was down to 6.3, which falls into pre diabetic category. I still crave sugar but can be satisfied now with a very small amount (at least compared to what I ate before). I can satisfy my craving with one fun size candy bar or a couple hershey kisses. I don't eat candy everyday, but still have it. I use sugar fee Jello a lot to help with the sugar cravings. Cake used to be my absolute favorite, but now it just doesn't taste as good as it used to. A couple bites and I'm usually done with cake. You're taste buds will change after surgery. Just wanted to let you know you the sleeve can be an option if you would want to still be able to have the occasional treat. I have never experienced the dumping syndrome from sugar or anything else. Was sleeved 7/24 @ 295, today I'm at 247, 46 years old. Consider myself a slower loser but my hypothyroid probably contributes to that.
Good luck with whatever surgery you decide to go with.

    Surgery weight: 253

I know I shouldn't pay attention much to the scale, and I wish I would have taken my measurements so I could also track inches lost. I've already had one stall on the scale, but my clothes are definitely looser. I'm putting off buying new clothes as long as I can though... don't want to spend a whole lot of money on clothes that I won't be wearing very long.
    You guys are doing great!

Well it is now getting close to my big day. I will be 43 in 25 days and I am 10 pounds from onederland. That would be the best birthday gift ever!!! Even if I don't make it the best part is I have not been this weight and size since I was in my early 20's. I have had people look at my pics and say I look young now.

So this is going to be a great birthday

Yes u still have lost weight you are no longer 221. I like to keep a pair of pants preferably jeans that are to small and every few days I just keep trying them on until they not only fit better and looser but you can tuck a shirt In and wear a belt.
The scale won't tell you clothes fit better but those clothes will tell u that your body is getting smaller and losing inches:) be patient and try to just weigh in once a month. Try the jeans thing it works. And you can do it withs tight shirt also
    You got this.

I am so disappointed in my weight loss. Or should I say lack there of !! I was sleeved 9/16/14. Weight of surgery was 221. Today October 13- 208.4. I HAD LOST down to 205.4. Once I started puréed - I gained. No loss in 3 weeks or more. Instead - it's up and down : down 2.6 then up 4 - 5. I did not go through this for THIS. I am devastated and afraid : yep - one more failure !!! Another very painful and expensive failure for things to STAY THE SAME. Forgive me y'all - not a good Monday. I literally don't want to put one thing in my mouth. Sad - very sad. Everyone says - give it time, it will come off. Well.... When? Losing faith rapidly ????

I was sleeved 9/15/14 @ 0730 in Everett Washington. My surgery was completely painless (minus the air pockets. Gas x fixed those right up.) I was up walking and eating Jello and chicken broth and ice like nobody's business. My surgeon removed my excess stomach through my belly button so it took about a week and a half to heal.
I've done fairly well with the diet eating every 2 hours while awake my schedule is Protein Shake for Breakfast yogurt at 10am with granola. 12(ish) lunch usually chicken or fish on whole wheat crackers. Then at 2 I eat cottage cheese.
I lost 11 pounds in week 1 and 4 pounds in week 2 then only like a pound a week since then. I'm losing inches tho and my husband says not to worry about the scale. Anyone out there have similar experiences?
    Starting weight 264
    Surgery weight 259
    Current weight 238.
