Hi my name is Pam and I am a wife, mother, and grandmother. My family is my true treasure in life. I decided to get surgery after much research. I just want to be able to keep up with my family and feel like a beautiful, healthy woman at 46 and not a old lady sitting on the sidelines. I want to enjoy grandchildren and have a long happy life.
I started my Weight loss journey in March of 2014. I had completed all of my prerequisites and Dr Kauffman asked me to go and get a Mammogram before the final approval could be done. I went for the mammogram in May, hoping to get my final pre op appointment scheduled so we could plan the surgery date. Unfortunately that has not happened so far as I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. I am currently undergoing the treatment for the Breast Cancer. I had a lumpectomy last week and am waiting to complete the radiation therapy before returning to my weight loss journey. I am confident that I can beat cancer and am looking forward to getting my life back on track and having my sleeve surgery before the year is over. I have to say that so far I have not made it to the finish line but am running the race like a trouper.

I got the call yesterday 8/25/2014! Finally cleared for surgery. Finished with my radiation therapy and excited to get going with this new phase! Surgery date is 9/15/14
