I can better write and talk about my surgery now, sorry Yesterday I try to talk and aloud the phone to type for me. I went and had the sleeve it went very well and yes I had pain meds to fight the pain. I was up and down all night I went into a time of just throwing up but today I feel so much better and I was told that If I feel better that I could also shower this evening. I just thank God that I made it through and now I am on the road the road to recovery. I am glad that everyone had laugh at my first writing I am sorry about that. Keep the faith.

I told my 7 yr old that I had to have something in my tummy fixed and that I was FINE and that we'd have to be careful for a while after. She asked what was wrong and I told her not to worry about it, that I'm fine.
I showed her and my 3 yr old that I had owies and that they have to be gentle.
That's pretty much been the end of it.

I was just noticing tonight that my husband takes huge bites and doesn't even finish chewing one bite before he's biting off more... Of course, he's always been skinny...

Quest4TheNewMe reacted to BLERDgirl in Not feeling sure about going through with WLS...
I'll say this. I am a believer in fat acceptance. I'm not advocating anybody just be fat an unhealthy, but I do believe everyone has a right to be treated with respect regardless of their size. I don't think the "tough love" some of the posters are trying to share is going to be all that helpful. What I will say is this. On a forum like this you get personal experience and opinions. You need to talk to professionals. I also think that if you are this unsure perhaps you need to step back and regroup. Talk to professionals locate an in person support group, preferably one facilitated by bariatric professionals. Give yourself 6 mths. If you can't lose weight and maintain it then reconsider the surgery.
I can't afford a trainer either. I have a gym membership and I use that. I have found however that the trainer at my gym are very nice and helpful. If you ask them what machine works for legs, and how to use it they will show me, so I've been doing that.
I don't think WLS is a miracle. I think the folks that had low self esteem before the surgery will still have it afterwards.

Maybe he just thinks your a hottie and want to see you??? Well?! I don't know what else it could be?! Tell him it's blatantly obvious that he has a crush on you but there are easier (cheaper) ways to go about it, and if he's going to keep setting up these "dates " he should at least make you dinner and buy you some flowers!! Then throw in there that you don't put out. That should get you the papers you need! Or admitted..whatever! ; )-

Quest4TheNewMe reacted to Kindle in NSV that saved my life today!
So the vet and I were out working cattle today. We had to vaccinate, trich test, deworm and tag 14 bulls. Basically, they are run into the chute one at a time, we do our thing and then release them out the front. At that point there is nothing between us and the bull, but they normally just wander off towards the open gate where they are released into another pen. Well the ranch hand responsible for this step was not running them out of our pen in a timely manner, so 4 bulls ended up together in the pen with us and two of them started to fight. At this point, all you can do is run for your life! They were slamming and crashing into everything and I managed to scramble to the top of a six foot fence. But before I could jump down on the other side, they came crashing right through the fence I was on. Fortunately, it was near the big barn door and I leaped up, grabbed the door frame and swung myself up off of the splintering fence as the bulls scrambled around under me. I had to hang there, basically by my fingertips until the bulls ran off into another pen.
The ranch guys were quite impressed and I played it off as no big deal....Just all in a day's work. But there is no way I could have even made it to the top of the 6 foot fence, much less pull myself up out of the way 100 pounds ago! So catlike reflexes and superhuman agility are now my new favorite NSVs.

Quest4TheNewMe got a reaction from Judy McGovern in GAINING weight first week post-op? What's happening?
I'm 14 days post-op and my scale has been bouncing up and down a bit, but I know that it's bloat due to my upcoming menstrual cycle.
Just keep following the rules and hang in there. Your body is still in freak out mode.

Quest4TheNewMe reacted to Kindle in My lunch bag is a sad place right now
I agree with the moderation thing....a couple Hershey kisses or a square or two of dark chocolate won't derail your weightloss. In fact, it's a lot easier for me to be good 90% of the time as long as I let myself be "bad" the other 10%. Actually had a small handful of chocolate chips with a teaspoon of Peanut Butter this evening. You just need to be able to stop after a small taste. Find a balance you can live with....cause this is for the rest of your life!

I just found the National Institute of Health's list of WLS qualifying comorbidities. One of the conditions listed is "premature death". Exactly how many medical experts did the government hire to come up with this list, anyways?

Quest4TheNewMe got a reaction from alwaysvegas in Have a really difficult time 4 days post op.
I was absolutely exhausted the first week, for sure. I definitely wasn't getting in as much Fluid as you, either. At just over two weeks, there have only been a couple of days that I've come home from work and haven't taken a nap. I also haven't been cleared for exercise, other than walking.
But, never take advice on here over the advice of your surgeon. Don't be afraid to call or go to the ER if you feel as though something isn't right.

Quest4TheNewMe reacted to Kindle in Name something strange and super unhealthy that you used to eat before weight loss
Not that it's strange, but probably the worst bad thing I ate preop is chocolate chip cookie dough. I'd make a whole batch but never actually turn the oven on! A friend was making Cookies a couple weeks ago while I was visiting and that brought back ALL those old, out of control cravings I haven't experienced in almost a year. And yes, I had some...only 2 spoonfuls, though. And it made my tummy a little sore. But mmmmmmmm.......
