  1. Sounds like you are doing great!
  2. By the way, I sipped directly from the premier bottle. Just take small, frequent sips.
  3. It does get easier, especially as you heal and the swelling goes down. Just keep sipping and do everything you can to get it in. The sooner you can reach your targets the better you will feel. Early out, I even took my premier Protein to bed at night and didn't turn out the light until I finished it. According to my surgeon there is no physical reason we can't drink three premier Proteins the day after surgery. That is 90 grams protein and 33 oz of Fluid right there. Keep sipping!
  4. I just made a Breakfast of weight control oatmeal. I mixed in some chocolate pudding Protein powder and PB2 to up the protein and it was pretty good. While going through my stash looking for the protein pudding, I realized that I still have a lot of protein puddings, Fruit drinks, powders, Soups, etc. What are some of your most creative uses for Protein Powder beyond smoothies?
  5. I am so sorry. It is probably more hassle than you have the energy to deal with right now, but you might want to consider reporting the theft to the police. That is theft, and depending on how much she spent, could be pretty serious. I definitely recommend that you find a good counselor and do everything you can to put some distance between you and your mom. She sounds really toxic. You do not need someone like that in your life, especially as you recover from surgery.
  6. This looks yummy. I'll have to make the pickled onions. I love pickled onions (or just about anything pickled for that matter).
  7. Yes, at the vey least it will stall your weight loss. If you don't get enough Protein your body will consume itself (muscles and organs like your heart). We need protein to keep our metabolisms running, to build and repair muscle, skin, hair, etc.
  8. At least 100 grams a day.
  9. I like the tuna packets: plain and flavored both.
  10. Cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, refried beans, and tuna were, and still are, some of my basics.
  11. I had scallops and shrimp about three or four weeks post-op. I would've careful with the butter. I found that post-op, fats like mayo and butter made me a little woozie and that a little goes a long way.
  12. I am so glad you are doing well. I am also glad that your mother was able to take you, even with the delay. She sounds like a real piece of work.
  13. Another great resource for in-person face-to-face support (and hugs) is OA. You can find meeting lists online at OA.org.
  14. I am so sorry that you are experiencing this frustration and aggravation. The pre-op process is great opportunity to practice polite persistence, patience, and perseverance. It will be worth it in the end
  15. Last night's episode was quite interesting. Christina is a beautiful woman. It broke my heart to see her struggling with her self-perception and anorexia. I was so glad to see Dr. Now tell her to eat more and gain weight, build muscle, get healthy, and talk to a therapist before he would consider performing skin removal surgery. Her struggles reminded me of some I have seen on these boards. I am glad they are going back and looking at the longer-term issues.
  16. I have been wanting to try a pawpaw. I just had ramps for the first time.
  17. Are you taking a PPI? Are you getting in all of your Protein? Are you getting in all of your fluids? Getting in all of your protein and fluids will go a long way to helping you with your energy.
  18. Glad you were able to find a good NUT. Your surgeon's 40 grams of protein guidelines were ludicrous.
  19. I really like them. They gave them to me in the hospital undiluted or undiluted over a little bit of crushed ice. They are a great way to get in Protein during the clear phase. Now, I occasionally add them to my Water bottle when I am short on protein.
  20. No, it doesn't sound like you are eating enough. I would highly recommend that you make an appointment with your NUT. In the meantime, go back to basics. Follow your plan. Track, weigh, and measure your food. Make sure you are getting AT LEAST 64 oz of Fluid a day. Make sure you are getting in all of your protein every day. What is your protein target? You need to be getting at least that amount every day (mine is 100 grams). Avoid starches, added sugars (especially high fructose corn syrup), carbonation, caffeine, and fried foods. Take your Vitamins and supplements as directed. And, exercise.
  21. Embrace the Stall! http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall
  22. Well, you took the first and most important step by admitting you need help. Do you have a NUT and a therapist? This would be a great time to make an appointment to talk to both and talk about your challenges and goals. In the meantime, go back to basics. Follow your program, Track, weigh, and measure your food. Make sure you are getting at least 64 oz of Fluid a day. Make sure you are reaching your Protein target every day. Avoid starches, added sugars (especially high fructose corn syrup), and fried foods. Take your Vitamins and supplements as directed. And, exercise.
  23. Yes, I have ordered quite a bit from them. I think I got the initial info for the site from my surgeon's office. I get Calcium chews from them. I also get the ProtiDiet liquid beverage concentrates and tomato basil and creamy chicken Soups that were lifesavers immediately post-op. I like the ProtiDiet hot chocolates and the WonderSlim puddings, too.
  24. I think mine was in my manual and I was also given another copy at my one week follow up.
