Need Help. Panniculectomy in 11 days...now not sure!
Sometimes having the Pani removed will make it easier to exercise and jump start our stalled weight loss. One can always go back in for a tummy tuck later on when finances allow it. But just to be rid of the Pani is a great joy for all of us.

Need Help. Panniculectomy in 11 days...now not sure!
Does your Gyno happen to have any pix of the Pani's he's done, Before and afters??? I would ask his office if they can give Your phone number to a few Pani patients and they can call you to share thier results, experience with this gyno doing the pani's. In june 2006 I had a open hysterectomy and I asked my surgeon if he could just lop off my fat roll (pani) he looked at me like I was nuts, I said I was serious but he said he wouldn't do that. not his speciality. sigh. Most lapband Drs want us to be at goal before TT. I still have 25 to my goal, my lapband dr wants me to lose 50 more. I had my TT at 180. 30 pounds from goal. Anyways good luck :smile2: Kelly

Soda
If your unable to make the commitment to stop cold turkey, then drink less per day, make yourself a timeline, and by the end of say 2 weeks, or 1 month be OFF sodas completly, find something else to drink instead, and NOT a carbonated beverage. If you can do this before you get banded it will be easier. I was a soda drinker, but the thought of being healthy and thinner made me think twice about continuing to drink sodas after my band. I'll be honest for the first 9 months I didn't touch a drop, then we went to Cancun on vacation and I drank a few sips here and there, and I really didn't care for the taste anymore. I drink ice tea or crystal light, or good ol H2O with lemon. Soda is just empty calories that my body doesn't need. Good luck on your journey.

Intro & questions
Hi TucsonD, First off Congratulations on losing 110lbs!!!:w00t: I can't answer your question pertaining to the LBL as I only had a Full Tummy tuck with Anchor cut and Breast implants with a small cresent lift over the nipple. Sre I can use a thigh lift and my arms could use some help, but it was my big ol belly that bothered me the most. As fopr my implants I had small deflated breasts, never have I had bvery big ones, never bigger then a full C even at my highest weight, so I could have gotten a traditional lift, but really we saw no need for the extra scar. So I opted for a small cresent lift over the aereola. I had 500CC High profile silicone implants. Under the muscle. I wanted as much volume as possible to fill out my saggy girls, yet didn't want to go TOO big, I wanted to look as natural as possible. The high profile for me filled out my breasts really nice and full without the tupperware bowl look. I am now a D cup and they feel very natural. As for your scar question regarding a lift and implants , Yes there is a bigger scar with a full lift, basically an anchor scar from the bottom of the aereola down. With implants only, it depends on the PS, there are a few different ways to put them in. As for the recovery period, this surgery kicked my ass, I also had a wound seperation issue with my TT and that took more time to heal. We are all different and heal different. I didn't have any pain at all from my implants except maybe the first 3 days, after that all was great. When you go for your consults, and yes you should go to more then 1. Have a list of questions to ask the PS, they shouls answer each and every one of them and explain what they can do for you. Mine asked my what did I want done, what bothered me the most, took the time to listen to me and my concerns, then told me what he could do to help me. I hope this helps you somewhat. Don't get discourage because you haven't gotten many replies yet, you will. Good luck, Kelly

Shrinkin' Violets Part 3 Read HERE!
Sunshine, That's a nice resort. and when you stay at one of the Palace resorts you can go and enjoy all the palace resorts. I believe 5 of them. We honeymooned at the Moon Palace and have been back 2 more times since. It's nice to be able to take the shuttle to the other palace resorts for a change of scenery for a day. We had the all inclusive and you get all you can eat or drink at all the palaces also. This last time I didn't eat a whole lot. I enjoyed the resort more because I wasn't focused on eating anything and everything. They also have free tours you get to choose from that some are fun to do.

Frangipani & TexasBecky get Reconstructed
Frangi, Glad to hear from you, and that your PS got you all fixed up. I know exactly what your saying about falling into a funk. It took my wound almost 4 months to heal and I am left with a not so pretty scar. It also didn't heal exactly from the inside out as it was supposed to only, It healed outside to inside along the edge of my wound and also from the inside up, But becasue it took the inside so long to heal the outside was long healed and well I am left with a "Butt" looking scar at the bottom of my almost flat tummy. Yep I have 2 butts it seems.. Good news is we are doing a revision and my Dr like yours feels my pain in waiting 4-6 months to do the revision so I will talking to him this week for the date to do it, Probably April though. Anyways glad to hear from you, was worried since we hadn't heard from you in so long. Kelly

Cosmetic Surgery and an Unfill??
I did not get an unfill for my PS. I made sure to have the Dr give me the Nausua patch that I put on my arm on the way to the hospital surgery morning, and also the Anestiaoligest (sp) knew about my band and not being able to throw up and gave me something in my IV for it. I think I used the patches for about a week and I had a prescription med just in case I needed it, but I never did.
