  1. I had a drain tube put in, wow never did I feel so much pain when the nurse pulled it out!
  2. I was like that also, NUT said get G2 Gatorade the G2 is low calorie. I drank a small one and didn't feel light headed anymore.
  3. I'm still on a stall, thought it was over but I keep fluctuating between 179-181. It's frustrating! I went back to drinking 2 shakes a day and a protein and veggie for supper. Then will have unsweetened applesauce or unsweetened Popsicles for snack. I get my fluids in and protein so what gives?
  4. MERRY CHRISTMAS to all
  5. Wow, I couldn't handle the unjury chicken soup or the chocolate, gave them all away. I can do the vanilla though and it's good.
  6. I'm still here too, been coming here now and then and not seeing any updated posts. I'm still fighting stalls, just can't move beyond 179-181! What gives? Went back to 2 shakes a day and simple dinner of protein and veggies. Just had Christmas at granny's last night with all 9 grandchildren and their moms and dads. It was wonderful to see them all together, ate my first piece of pizza a small one but it was delicious ! Merry Christmas to all of the fifties group who still are out there somewhere. LainieG , when is your surgery?
  7. That's great, keep it up sexy granni
  8. Tricare doesn't do the sleeve surgery. Only the bypass, I have Tricare and Medicare and I have to pay the 20% that Tricare was suppose to. If you get this done in a military hospital, hard to also, then it's free. Even with my Medicare it's been almost 8 weeks and I still don't know if they are going to cover it. With Medicare you have surgery then submit your papers for approval! Insurance with the government is crazy...
  9. I had to go back to drinking 2 shakes a day and a protein and veggie meal. Started to drop again, hope it keeps up
  10. I've been on a stall for almost 5 weeks now . I don't know what I'm doing wrong but this is very frustrating
  11. I have been on a stall for the past 4 weeks! Still on it, Tomorrow I will be 6 weeks out. I do feel good though and the weight I've lost has been fabulous! But I'm still wondering when this stall will end...
  12. I too have been on a 4 week stall. I increased my food and water and still nothing. I see my surgeon on Tuesday so will see what I'm doing wrong then.
  13. The sleeve has actually helped me with sleep apnea, I'm not snoring either. My pulmonary dr was glad to hear me agetting this done, I'm hoping to soon be taken off oxygen at night. Idk if it will happen because I have COPD pretty bad but I can hope.
  14. Vitamins I was told 2 Flinstones complete were good to use. I also bought lots of different protein drinks in chocolate... I hate chocolate now! Chocolate of any kind I just can't tolerate it. My better half is on the slim fast diet with me so he is drinking all my protein drinks that I cant. So yes do buy 1 or 2 of something but remember your taste can change after surgery.
  15. I asked about my hot tub and was told 6 weeks, don't know if it's the same as a public pool.
  16. I go to IHOP and order 2 scrambled eggs with American cheese, just enough for me!
  17. And still not losing! I was sleeved Oct 27 th, I've lost 17 pounds since surgery and 32 since I started my journey way back in April with my first PCP appointment. I'm still on puree foods per my doctor but have been having some soft foods this past week. I have been on this stall since my 2 week mark. I still have 1 protein shake a day then I would eat for fried beans or cream of wheat/oatmeal. Cottage cheese and yogurt another staple for me. I'm also walking 15 min a day on treadmill at a fast pace I get in a 1/2 mile walk. Usually all I can do because of COPD. What am I doing wrong? Anyone else stalling out like me?
  18. At 9 days out you should be feeling pretty good pain wise. I still got tired at 2 weeks out and 4 days out was Halloween. We had everyone over that was 19 of us here and I ordered pizza for all. Tired when they left though. It all depends on you and how your feeling on Christmas Day. Everyone is different with their tiredness and pain levels. I've read some have been out shopping just 4 days after surgery!
  19. I'm in my 4 th week and at a stall for over a week. Hmm eating more? might have to try that. I've been at this stall to long and only have lost 15 pounds since surgery.
  20. I'm a month out also and at a stall for a week now. I've upped my water intake it's not helping. I've only lost 15 pounds since surgery, 30 all together with the 6 month nut visits. Still on pureed foods which are yuck, like eating baby food. Which I've not done. Still I'd like to see some extra come off but will keep on trucking if it doesn't. I'm sure in time it will start up again.
  21. I too have been on a stall for 4 days now and tomorrow will be 3 weeks out for me. I've lost 15 pounds since surgery and do know that is a lot of weight to lose in a short time. Also I've been hungry, it's not stomach acids I take protonics for that. It's real hunger. I'm 57 also have a low BMI so I'm thinking that is why I'm on a stall.
  22. I'm doing fine with pain, just not liking the foods. I did open refried beans and sauce with cheese, it was delish. Eating cottage cheese, slice cheese and my daughter is fixing broccoli and cheese soup soup for me tomorrow. Yes a lot of cheese, but I did stop at Wendy's and got a cup of chili I will try pureeing before I make a pot. Then there is the shakes in between I'm not so crazy about. When you can't smell and your taste is off because of it then the chocolate shakes are not my cup of tea lol.
  23. I've not had any problems with pureed foods, haven't tried an egg yet it's not on my list of pureed foods. Today is day 18 for me.
  24. And I'm finally on puréed foods for 4 weeks! I don't know if I can do this... Today I pureed chicken with some chicken broth, it was awful! I also did some carrots they weren't bad. How in the world do you make it on pureed foods? Looks to me like I'll be drinking my shakes for the next 4 weeks. The Drs office told me to purée chili, chicken, turkey get my Protein in, how do you do it? Also I've lost 14 pounds in 2 weeks and now down 29 # since doing the 6 months diet and 2 weeks. Which is good but I'm at a stall haven't moved in 3 days, I thought it came at 3 weeks. Guess I'm just frustrated over the pureed foods.
  25. Will be so nice to be 6 weeks out and eat! Now it's hard at 2 weeks out deciding what to drink. Going out for dinner and ordering the soup isn't to awfully bad.
