  1. Sorry about your incident. Maybe next time ya'll have pizza, just eat the toppings and tell them you are trying to cut back on bread. Thanks for sharing.
  2. Thanks Bamboobabe. I started doing that after my episode of staph. I've been changing my son's everyday too. I'm surprised walmart has any bleach left because I have been buying it right and left. I sure hope we can get rid of this soon though. Thanks. Haha! Thanks Jeannie. I was quoting from memory and apparently my brain isn't working. My appt is on the 22nd. Thanks. Thanks Leslie! It can be very painful if it gets too bad. Hopefully we caught my sons' infection early enough, so it doesn't get as bad as mine did. It's more aggravating than anything. I'm just tired of cleaning, cleaning, cleaning.....
  3. Well, my son and I went to the doctor this morning and he does have staph infection again. I have been disinfecting my house AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN. This is just ridiculous! We can't seem to get rid of it! I've been doing everything I can think of to get rid of this stuff. I have a daily routine of disinfecting like spraying door knobs, wiping down counters, toilet, toys, cell phones, computer mouse and keyboard. Not to mention washing our hands at least 10 times a day. I have definitely turned into a germaphobic.... The doctor seems to think I have a viral flu-like bug that's going around. It causes fever, fatigue, sore and achy muscles, and sore throat. I have felt good most of the day, but I don't know if I will get the fever again tonight. It seems like clockwork....every night around 11:00 or 12:00 it starts. Maybe it's over. Anyway, sorry to vent but it seems like my family is ALWAYS sick and it gets old. Thanks for listening.
  4. Mia, I have an appt on May 24th. I'm not sure if I am going to go yet. I will definitely let you know if I decide to cancel.
  5. I do! I love that show. My DH even likes it. When does it start coming on?
  6. I know I told ya'll about my rough weekend of being sick on and off. I have been fine all day, except for just feeling exhausted, and now my chills and fever has come back. I can't figure out what in world is wrong with me and what could be causing this. My face feels like it is on fire. I am definitely going to the doctor in the morning and I have to take my son too. He has been coughing and acting like his throat is sore, and to top it off, I think he may have staph infection too. He got bitten by some ants the other day and I have been so careful by cleaning it often and putting Bacatrycin on it, just as a precaution. One of the bites has a hard knot under it and I can tell it's really bothering him. Mine is actually getting better, the knot has decreased in size and it doesn't hurt anymore. I don't know, but this is the 3rd day my fever has spiked. I'll let ya'll know how the doctor's visit goes. I just pray I'm wrong about my son...
  7. oneder woman I have never really been able to eat eggs. It's the only food I thought I was going to PB, but luckily I didn't. I suggest staying away from them, at least for now. I would also stay away from solid meats right now to. I know I was probably too cautious, but it's really important that you give yourself time to heal. Mia is right though, people move at different rates. I was one of those that had to extend my clear liquid phase post op by a whole week almost. I am sorry you had that experience. I would just try to be extra cautious from now on. Don't let it get you down though. This band is a learning game and it takes time to know what you can and cannot eat.
  8. Hey everyone! Here are my stats for today. Do ya'll sleep with your BB on? I haven't been because I like to sleep on my right side some and it just gets in the way. Just curious as to how many calories you burn in your sleep... Calories Burned- 2244 Calories Consumed- 756 Deficit- 1488
  9. I won't be able to meet Saturday either. DH and I are doing a yard sale with the youth from church. So we will be really busy. Ya'll go ahead and meet though if it's good for ya'll. I'm sure I'll be able to make one sooner or later, lol.
  10. That sounds really high! I personally would not want to drink that many calories. Do you drink it as a meal or snack? How many grams of Protein does it have? What is your average calories per day (including the shake)? I personally like the low carb slim fast. It has 190 calories/20g protein. If I weren't so tight in the mornings I would probably just eat all of my protein, but I can't eat first thing.
  11. Fenton, I didn't get the digital display so I can't help you there. Hope you get it figured out soon. I was sick on and off all weekend, so I didn't even bother wearing mine yesterday. I started wearing it again this morning but I'm still feeling a little week, so I'm not sure how "good" I am going to do today. Keep up the great work everyone!
  12. I was in Walmart a few days ago and I bought a couple of traditional rotisserie chickens from the deli. I decided to shred one of them up and make the spinach chicken salad with it and it was DELICIOUS! So much more flavor than canned chicken. I'll definitely be using rotisserie chicken from now on. I'm sure it has more calories but I did make sure I removed the skin and as much fat as I could. Most of the meat is breast meat anyway.
  13. Bummer...but I'm glad you are okay. I wrecked mine a few years ago and I had a time with the insurance company. I had to make most of my calls at work and I'm just glad my boss and co-workers were understanding about it. I hope you get it straightened out soon.

I would choose the hot tub! My sister has a pool, so we can go there anytime and swim during the summer months, and like you said, the pool would be seasonal. I have always wanted a hot tub, it looks so relaxing and soothing. Great, now I want one...

Diane, it sounds like you have a big decision to make. I wish you the best and you are in my prayers. Keep us posted okay.
  16. Congrats on your NSV allykat! Those kinds of NSV's always make you feel good. I had a rough weekend too. I had diarrhea most of Friday morning. Then Saturday night I started getting chills and fever, then night sweats all night long. The fever would come and go. Sunday morning I had diarrhea again and also continued having chills and fever and sweats all day long. Thankfully I feel much better today, I'm guessing it was something viral. Anyway, looking forward to a better week.
  17. Hey Renewed! I have the same problem. It's not so much that I am hungry though, I just get the munchies. I have a lot of trouble going to sleep at night, so my "normal" bedtime is around 2:00 am. During the winter months, I would make a big cup of SF hot apple cider, diet hot chocolate, or a chai tea latte. All of these were hardly any calories and they actually calmed my cravings. Since it's not cold anymore, I've been snacking on SF Popsicles at night. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't. Here lately, I've been trying to eat 5-6 really small meals a day and that has helped some. The meals are small enough to hold me over without actually getting hungry and it feels like I am getting to eat more food. It also keeps that metabolism going. These are just a few suggestions that have helped me a little. Believe me, you're not alone. I think a lot of us bandsters have the "night eating" problem and it just takes time to get it under control, kinda like trial and error. I know I still struggle with it. Hope you get it figured out soon.
  18. Still thinking of you BBK. Let us know what the doc says and I hope you feel better soon. ((HUGS))
  19. I am staying on plan today because I love the way I feel about myself when I do!
  20. You poor thing! I am so sorry you are having such a rough time. I am praying you feel better soon and you have a quick recovery. Take care of yourself.
  21. Sherry, you are absolutely right. I am still fighting that demon. I think we have felt that full feeling for soooo long, we still think we need to feel that way. I can honestly say I am getting better on this, but I still struggle with it everyday. You know, I've never really been a big fan of measuring food, but it is something I have considered to start doing religiously here lately. NotABuckOFive I have wondered the same thing. I have never PB'ed or gotten stuck and I have been a stickler for chewing my food until it's pretty much liquid (mainly because I worry about doing harm to my band). Sorry, I don't have an answer to your question, but I have also wondered about it too.
  22. dewthedew: I just got a bodybugg and just started using it today. I love it! It inspires me to move more. I didn't do any cardio or weight training today, but I did do quite a few things around my house and I was just shocked at how many calories I burned. I ended up burning 2281 calories today. I found myself doing extra little things during the day that adds up. I went to the grocery store and parked really far away, then on my way to my car, I lifted my bags up and down until I got there. I'm sure people thought I was crazy, but I don't care, lol. Anyway, here's the website if you want to check it out: BODYBUGG :: HOW IT WORKS I do know where you are coming from. It had gotten to the point that I knew I needed something else to help me.
  23. Wow, that sounds awful! I'm sorry that happened to you. I know you are frustrated since this happened so close to your surgery! ((HUGS)) Just focus on healing and the rest will come later. I sure am glad you band is okay. Take care and I hope you recover quickly!
  24. Whooooo Hoooooo! WTG on the 5k Renewed! I'm so proud of you too! I am going to try to get my butt in gear so I can do something like that one day. Well, I wasn't very active today. I didn't do any cardio or weight training but I did do quite a bit of running around today. Anyway, here's my numbers for today: Burned: 2281 Consumed: 853 Deficit: 1428 Not too bad, I guess....
  25. No, I haven't scheduled the coaching session yet. I just started wearing it today. I started to wait until Monday because I knew I wasn't going to be very active this weekend. But I am surprised at how many calories I've already burned. I started wearing it at about 9:30 this morning and I've already burned 1215 calories, just by running a few errands and doing housework! Thanks for your offer to help with my questions. I think it's just going to take a couple of days to get used to it. I'll try not to bombard all of you with a lot of questions, lol. Thanks again. Congrats on your weight loss NukeChik!
