  1. You can do it, Tap! We can do this. Repeat: We can do this. I just have to chant that to myself until "The Voices" go away.
  2. It's 7:26am, and I'm so tired my eyes are stinging. Staying up late last night crying didn't help either. I feel like a big 'ole baby. I made a critical bank error (I suck with money). I posted some "pay ahead bills" early last week and dated them for tomorrow. Well, DD's clarinet was way more than I thought it would be, so went online to the bank over the weekend to change the dates. After all, that's why I dated them when I did...and they aren't bills that are really due - I was just paying ahead on some... Well, my bank has a 4-day prior to the date it's posting policy which means I can't change the dates. I went in to look and they aren't listed under pending, they're under processed. WTH? So, I called yesterday and was told that I can't change the dates. The 4-day crap is in the "fine print" and it's my error so any bank fees that come with the overdraft won't be waived. Damn it. So, being processed right now are a bunch of bills that I can't pay right now. Damn, damn, damn. And, it's because I thought I was actually ahead of the game, and paying off stuff in advance...ha ha ha. Silly, Gloucester, Trix are for kids.

 Sorry...! I guess I'm not all that clear sometimes - and not very accurate when throwing around scientific terms. Theory s/b replaced with something else, I guess. I meant, when I was explaining to DD about a specific amount of fat being lighter than the same specific amount of muscle. Like a tsp, or a cup vs. a measurment of weight. I don't say pound to pound, fat is lighter, cause that's stupid and wrong. I say tsp vs tsp, fat is lighter than muscle.
  4. I know I get hung up on the scale. It's funny how crazy I am about it now, and I'm not sure why I couldn't catch myself at this weight on the way UP. But, yeah...my clothes fit looser, especially in the butt and legs. So, I need to start paying more attention to the good than bad. Thanks!
  5. Wow...12 pounds heavier than the lab. I have a yellow lab at home and that visual just hit. One day I'll be only a few pounds heavier than her - what will I do then? She's a beast now on the leash. It never occurred to me that our walks would get WORSE. (I have a white Boxer who is the perfect lady, though she looks like a deep-sea monster. People are scared of her, but she's a doll and very well behaved on the leash.) Another thing that didn't occur to me was the time that it takes me now to go only 1 mile, in a few weeks will still be the same time, just longer mileage. Duh...I know that's a normal progression when I think about it, I just never saw me as "that type". I have a question: Did your weight loss stall, or not drop, when you began exercising? My weight won't budge. It's been 3 weeks of contant moving and NADA.
  6. Thanks! I found that article interesting...especially the part about having flexible feet will likely be a cause. I used to pick up my dogs bones w/my toes and play catch. (Didn't have the musical talent to try the piano, though!)I'll look into getting those inserts. As for the treadmill...I'm sort of broke right now. I've added it to my Christmas list, though. Wish me luck that it lasts until then!
  7. Okay...I'm extremely overwhelmed and intimidated by you guys! I have been reading, but not participating... I have been keeping up with the c25k program. This is the 1st day of week #3. Which, I haven't even looked at yet. I'll go home and just do it, no matter what it says. Over the weekend, we hiked around a small lake in our neighborhood with the dogs, and swam. I did about 20 laps in my mothers pool (standard size.) Nothing huge, but definitely more than I'm used to. I can't play with the big kids yet, but I'm getting there.
  8. LOL! Yeah, poor guy. I told him there's nothing wrong w/running out on the weekend, or that kind of thing, but having it in the house is BAD. One time we had Oreos and I think I ate them all in one weekend. He sat down on that Sunday night to eat some and opened the package to reveal 2 left. He said, "I didn't get any of these." I was like, "Duh...told you not to buy it." He's a big guy, but it's from 2nd / 3rd helpings of real food. My fatness came from junk food. It's definitely something I've been fighting, and will win - eventually.
  9. What's a Tweaker????
  10. Hm...I'm thinking if I hide the ice cream in the cupboard, that would solve my problems with actually eating it. Tap - have you considered N/A (Nuts Anonymous?) Step One - Admit you have a nut problem. Step Two....
  11. Well, I had to twist DH's arm to NOT buy any more ice cream. So, ice cream is gone...sherbet is gone and there is no more junk food in the house. He said he was tempted to buy it, but didn't. So, yes! Today is a better day!
  12. Okay, okay. Confessions here. I did not do so well this weekend. I had ice cream, and then last night I had sherbet. It's just sooo good. Bad, Gloucester! I did exercise though...it was a beautiful weekend here in Houston.
  13. Ahhh....Momma Cass. Yeah, I'm singing!
  14. Hi, Pharmchic! Nice to meet you. I'm on my third week doing the program, but I've done week 1 twice and week 2 once - going on twice. I'm just a little nervous to push myself but I am suprised at how easy it's getting. I have games on a bookshelf right in front my treadmill, and one is the new Monopoly "Here and Now". I stare at those words, thinking this is new ME...here and now. I also have Cranium, and the tag line is "You won't believe what your friends can do." I skip the words and just read "You won't believe what you can do." I know it sounds really korny, but it gets me through the running parts when start to feel tired. :-)
  15. LMAO...ahh...fond memories of childhood humiliation.
  16. Oh, my! Nothing like sexy underwear to be the topic of discussion at the family gatherings. Beats conversations about sports and politics, though. I can hear it now: "Hey...how 'bout that lacy underwear?"
  17. :tongue2: Better today because it's Friday. I'm silly today, but feel like snacking. I am trying to not eat so much right now because the boss is taking the group out to lunch at Pappasitos (Yummy Mexican). Not sure what I'll order, though, since I'm at a good spot w/my fill....Tortilla Soup? I did the lowcarb ice cream when I was on atkins...I think the fat content is higher/or as high as real icecream, though. Just low sugar. Is it the same? I'd like to do the low-carb thing. It really works for my body type. I used to make mousse w/whipping cream and splenda and cocoa mix. I'd freeze it and eat that as ice cream. Mmmm....but it was very high fat. But yummy. I am addicted to bread, too! One of my fav Snacks used to be soft white bread w/butter and maple syrup. LOL - I love that! Make the brain see the accountability! We wrote it! We said it! The brain can't trick us now!

Doh...mine's in my head - guess my pants won't fit smaller afterall. Okay...I'm definitely silly today. Back to OP - It is annoying to hear that a pound of something doesn't equal a pound of something else. Sometimes I wonder if people can hear themselves speak? Or if they can, are they playing some sick practical joke on the people listening and nodding? "Oohh....did you hear what he said? A pound of fat is lighter than a pound of muscle. Wow. FASCINATING." Really? Who buys that crap? I've explainded that theory to my daughter, and I try to say a spoonful of fat vs. a spoonful of muscle. That way it is still a visual, but doesn't defy science 101. :tongue2:
  19. plain - is that a class-action suit? I'd like to throw my name in the hat, if so. My story, by Gloucester: Recently my DD and I planned a nice trip to the beach. We thought it would be a lovely summer day. Little did we know that the Water was CONTAMINATED. The salt in the water stung my eyes, and caused my precious daughter's eyes to tear for several minutes. Where is the humanity in that? There was NO warning at the beach that the water would be salty, and I think that whomever is responsible should PAY. I was looking out for sharks. I had my dog on the leash. I had no open containers, and I did not litter. I read the riptide warnings. Nowhere was it mentioned that the water had SALT. Who knew?
  20. I run the gammut (sp?) on panties. I have my old "granny" underwear, that I wear when I'm doing yard work, or now running on the treadmill. They come up over my sweats...makes me feel smaller! Then I have the lacy kind that DH loves. :tongue2: I went through a thong phase, but they're too big now, too, so I'm wearing them less and less. Now I'm really liking the no panty-line kind. They're not too sexy, though! Tried the boy-shorts, but they ride up and get bulky. Leslie, do you wear them under clothes, or just to bed?
  21. Hey there...just checking in. How's everyone doing???
  22. I'm not a VV, but can I join, too? I have the ice cream....I've gotten the light kind, so at least I'm eating 1/2 the fat! But, I still want to cut down to nothing. As soon as I'll get strong, DH will buy some. Grrr. So, I need to boycott ice cream in a big way.

What if I lose a pound of fat, but gain a ton of gold coins? Then, can I say whatever the hell I want to say...because, well - I have a ton of gold. Kinda like Oprah.
  24. Tap...even for a Friday, you're way too damn happy! Ohhh...wait! Is the coffee spiked???
  25. I always wondered what Crusty the Clown's last name was!
