I think DH is a little frustrated, because I kept pointed to the ones that are around my size now, and say, I look like that? Small vanity in my mind...ugg. Why DO they have to take off their shirts. I wouldn't wanna.

Oh, no...not math. My daughter keeps asking, "If I do this, this and this, can I have $20?" Um...no. But, do this, this and this anyway. Just for the fun of it.

September exercise challenge?
Yesterday: 20 minutes - walked the dogs (exercise in itself just to put the leash on them) And 20 minutes on treadmill, week #3. I'm starting to jog not run, but I keep up the jogging longer than I can actually run. So, my time is still around 16:30 for one mile. (Hey, we gotta start somewhere, right?) My DH's daughter has to run the mile in 12 minutes...I wouldn't be able to do it! But, that's my goal. When I heard about that, then that was the goal I wanted to get to. A 12 minute mile right now seems so far away.

I think it's something like 6 hours a day...Plus the limits on food. DH and I were watching last night, and he was like, "We could do THAT. Oh, man...we could do THAT, too!!!" I had to remind him that we're not seeing everything they're doing. Did you see the 2 people who threw up? I've never worked so hard that I've thrown up....I think that's kinda scary. Is that even healthy?

I got to see it! Yay! I'm not sure how fair it is for the yellow team...how are they going to get through the challenges??? I'm sad to see the green team go, 'cause I think they really worked hard. But, I think out of all of them to leave first, they are the strongest. I'm glad they're doing it on their own. I don't have a favorite yet...maybe Heba, but I don't like her DH.

We're great! Power is back on...just went shopping to restock the spoiled food. yeah. I love my mother, too, but only in short bursts. I'm about done. DH promised we'd go back for dinner because she seemed so sad to see us go. I was like NOOOO...that's a manipulation tool! Don't fall for it!!! But, we're headed back in a little bit.

Preparing for Ike
Hi there...just checking in with my fellow Houstonites...How did ya'll fare? We lost our fence, and some limbs fell, but no roof damage. We're still without power, and I'm staying with my mother for my internet access. How is everyone doing?

I'm posting to say: I hate it when hurricanes come through and knock out power so that you have to shack up with your mother just so you can get your LBT fix.

September exercise challenge?
Hello everyone! I'm just checking in - I managed through Ike, though not without some damage. We lost our fence and our power is still not on. I'm holed up at my mother's. I don't know why I was worried about no exercise! After the storm hit, and we lost the fence, walking the dogs has become a must. So, I've taken several walks around the neighborhood...some briskly and some slower to chat with the neighbors. Then, yesterday we cleaned the yard, pulled the tree limbs to the curb, bagged the mushy yard pilings...UGG. I ache all over! I'm looking forward to the treadmill!

Couch to 5K for August...who's in?
I just can't get through week #3...so I'm still on week #2, sorta mixing in the longer running times of week #3, but mostly sticking with the tempo of week 2. I'm getting there, but it seems kinda slow. good news: I have lost a couple pounds from my plataeu! Finally!!! It's been months, really. This is what I needed.

September exercise challenge?
 I'm about to get on the treadmill for another week #2 c25k session. I'm thinking if power is knocked out, I won't be on the treadmill for a while, and it'll be weights and sit ups for the next couple of days. We're not evacuating, so I have no excuse not to exercise. (Darn it.)

SNT - thank you, you rock! The cell phone charge is something I always forget when travelling, so I'm sure it's something I'll forget this time.

No...we're still here. My manager is grumpy because the company put her in charge of everyone's safety and she is the emergency contact for our group. She has a 4 year old and new born at home...she really doesn't need to be our baby-sitter.

I'm actually looking forward to no electricity. No TV...no noise. Just the family together, playing games. By candle light. On another note, I'm trying to eat a banana. I very rarely eat them and with the band it's actually hard. I heard that they're really good for you, so I want to get it in. It would taste better w/peanut butter, but I'm sure that would make it really hard to eat.

I Can't Believe I'm Asking This...
I had a c-section, and seeing my big ole roll of fat stretched out and hung up on the cover between my head and my nether regions pretty much wiped all modesty. Not to mention leading up to the procedure where you lay down and spread 'em - my modesty is just kinda shot to hell. I used to be nervous, but if the doctor is professional you really don't feel the nervousness at the time of surgery. I know I was knocked out cold and I was dressed, and then I brought to and I was dressed. Whatever cocktail they gave me - I didn't care. I was in lah-lah land and I was getting banded. Being naked is only secondary to the euphoria of getting my band. You'll be fine. Take a deep breath and just think: You are not the first naked fat person this doctor has seen. If you are - get another doctor.

Givin' up the ice cream
I always wonder if cancer was always around but undetected, or if it has been recent with all the "waves" of technology. I dunno. I hate it. 80% of the deaths in my family since I was a kid was due to cancer. I remember my dad had lung cancer (brought on by his smoking - RSG, way to go w/no ciggies!) But, it just spread so quickly. My aunt right now is fighting it and has been for 10 years. She's so strong. Ugg! Cancer sucks. (Do they have a bumper sticker that says that?) On a positive note...no ice cream. Though, I did joke that we needed to buy some so that we *had* to eat it when the electricity goes out. Even DH didn't buy that one.

That does help! I'm not too worried. I have some good books to settle down with and it will be like a mini-vacation. *knocks on wood*

Well, it's Thursday, and I'm at work - for the moment. We may be shutting down and leaving early. I haven't been through a hurricane before, and DH is taking it in stride. Ike looks to be headed our way, and DH says we'll ride it out. I dunno...we at least have a gas grill, and tons of flashlights/batteries. I'm more worried about our dogs. If the yard/neighborhood floods, they won't have anywhere to go the bathroom. How does that work?

Pin up Shoto Shoot??
I came home and voted again. Next, I'll have DH vote from his work laptop, just as soon as he gets it up. Oh, my...that sounded so different from how I meant it.

September exercise challenge?
I DID IT! Okay, tonight, I came home and went swimming at my mother's. I did laps until I was sweaty, and then we played around. It's weird sweating in the Water. Then, on the way home, I was thinking, "Ahhh...I'm tired...I don't want to run tonight...I'll run tomorrow..." But, then I came home and just changed into my workout clothes - without even thinking about it. And DH asked, "are you getting on the treadmill?" I said, "YEP! I guess I am." And, I beat my record. My fastest run time (don't laugh) before was 17.42 minutes for one mile. Tonight it was 16.39. I am on cloud nine!!! I can't believe it!!!! I beat my record, after not even wanting to do it!!!
