  1. Okay, read the couch to 5k...not sure I'm up to that just yet. I do think I could get a nice bike and ride that. I'm trying to keep indoors during the hot part of the summer, but summer almost over. :tongue_smilie: I have no more excuses left, right?
  2. :tt2: he he...right now I love sleeping! Gee, what exercise can I do in bed that I love...lemme think.... lol Okay - getting my mind out of the gutter and cruising on over to couch to 5k...
  3. RSG - You look great!!!! You're right...40 is 40 is 40 when it comes the knees and heart! You're doing great! :tt2:
  4. How does she do that??? I can't eat a burrito from Chipotle anymore at all. One bite and I'm sliming. I can handle the salads, though - but not a whole one. I take more than 1/2 to go. ...then it gets slimy at home in the refrigerator and I end up tossing it. It's a waste really, which is why I don't go very often.
  5. Help! I have stopped exercising and am a blob. I'm not gaining, but I'm not losing either and I know it's because of lack of exercise. My hours changed and I haven't adjusted to it yet and I come home in BLAH mood - I just want to sleep! How can I break the cycle? It's like the devil and the angel on my shoulders. One is yelling at me "get off your fat butt" and the other is saying "Sonic is open...it's quick, easy...you know you want it." How do you stay motivated, and what do you tell yourself to get up off your rear? And does that work long-term?
  6. I think I've asked this before when similar threads popup...but: What's the nice way to tell someone what they're doing is not right? I don't candy coat things for my 11 year old, and I don't candy-coat things for adults. You wanted input? Well, you posted to a online board and got INPUT. I'm not "going after" you, but you said initially you’re doing things your way. Yeah, well, I did them my way for 30+ years and got FAT. I think I’ll try the docs way this time. But, hey – if your way works, go for it. But, your way doesn’t work, does it? Your way got you here, and now you’re scared. I’m scared too! I don’t want to stay fat. I don’t want to have had surgery for nothing – or worse end up with complications. Follow your doctor’s after care information. If your doctor sucks and you didn’t receive good care instructions then research it yourself. You obviously have access to internet…look at reputable sites and get the information yourself. But don’t ask for experiences from experienced bandsters and then gripe about the input you get back. That’s a huge turnoff for people who are trying to help. And, one reason people are helping is because this is important to us. We’re all here together, going through the same journey. It’s like parents who see their kids doing the same destructive behaviors. We’ve seen what it can do and we want to stop it before it does damage. Keep in mind, if no one cared then there wouldn’t be so many pages of postings. If everyone cheated on their post-op diet, would you? And WHY?
  7. My cat has feathers.
  8. I lost a friend over a wedding…and I’m still not sure how! My best friend was getting married in NJ…we were in VA. Another friend of mine kept putting off visiting the bride to be…and putting off going…and putting off going until finally the bride was complaining to me that if bridesmaid didn’t come for fittings/activities she’d be out. So, I told the other friend – hey, you’d better get up there to see Bride…she’s feeling hurt that you’re not part of the activities. She brushed me off….then got kicked out – THEN BLAMED ME. She said I should have told her she’d be kicked out of the wedding party, and it was all my fault. Wonder…I don’t really miss that “friend” so much.
  9. Wow....individually people can be sooo great. But, also gross and rude. I have to wonder, if we have people like this among us, then how did we manage to discover fire?
  10. All I can say is: Ew. We have a lady who continually misses the seat and drops some sort of powder all over the floor. There are also a few who don't wash their hands. I toyed with the idea of putting up a sign, but my boss said HR would frown on it. So, people are gross, suck and have no manners and we have to be PC about it. Damn.
  11. I know... Now our FedEx scale is missing. These are people who have families, homes, etc...I'm the poorest one here and I don't steal. What gives with people?
  12. It's like saying, "Damn...I hate being sooo pretty. The boys just won't leave me alone." :frown:
  13. Who? Who? Someone please PM me...
  14. I wish I could rant & then boast about being a size 6...
  15. Okay...I came in this morning to find my tape dispenser gone. I know I'm just ADMIN, but c'mon. I can order you one. I can go out and buy you one. THIS IS MY DESK. LEAVE IT ALONE. It's my personal tape dispenser...it's pretty...it has my name on it. It's not YOURS. Don't take it. Same goes to the guy (and we all know who you are) who eats other people's food from the fridge...DID YOU BRING IT IN??? NO? THEN LEAVE IT ALONE!!!! I make 1/2 what the "professionals" make...why are they taking MY stuff????
  16. LOL LOL LOL I actually am sitting here laughing at that thought. OMG...that would be sooo great. (Maybe the last day here, before I quit!) Actually...the place is great. The boss is the largest woman I've ever seen, and has no qualms about eating as much as she wants. She keeps saying, "I need to get back on my diet." As she's stuffing her face with the 3rd doughnut that I've seen her eat. Lord knows how much she eats in private. I can't say anything to her, because I get the excuses..."Oh, I know...I'm just waiting until the food is gone in my house....I'm just waiting until company leaves...I'm just waiting...and waiting...and waiting." I've been there, and I know how it is. I feel bad for her. She gets out of breath walking from her desk to mine - just to get another doughnut. I want to scream: GET THE LAPBAND. IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE.
  17. :frown: I like the ladies room idea! But, unfortunately, higher powers than me want them right where they are. At least they are off to the side, so if I keep my back turned and type at a weird angle, with one eye closed then I don't see them. I go over and close the box, though, because I can smell them. The last time (this is a weekly thing) I almost caved. Late in the day, there were still some left and I picked up the box. On the bottom it was wet and soggy and slimy from the grease that had been sitting there. Ugg. No thank you! I just keep that in mind when I start to cave.
  18. Thank you! I just bought clippers and had the confidence that I could do it. :frown: When the bleeding didn't stop I called the vet and she said put flour or cornstarch on it...never had heard of that either, but it did the trick. I wrapped her up and she was fine after that. It just freaked me out at first. Now...I'm biting my nails to the quick because there are doughnuts here!!! I hate that they bring them in...and put them on MY desk. Why, why, why???? I will not eat one, though. Instead, I'll keep one at my desk and throw it at the person who brought them in as he walks by. A powdered one....
  19. Posting to say I suck! I tried trimming my labs nails by myself. I decided I was too cheap to fork over $14 for the two dogs to get their nails done at the vet...I can do it, I said - first time for everything, right? there is blood on floor now and a bandage around her foot, and I feel sooo guilty. Where's that Bailey's Irish Cream I stashed...? I am feeling so bad.
  20. I've never been to In and Out...looks like that's a good thing. I do like Sonic though. But, I pass it over for Jack in the Box. I LOVE their Grilled Chix Alcapulco salad. Yummy.
  21. Well..you do need your protein. And that's a GREAT way to get it. I'm proud of you! Keep on going...I'm SURE you'll be fine.
  22. Ah, c'mon you guys...If I weren't working on my 3rd Big Mac right now, then I'd be hungry reading this thread....
  23. I have a size 24 pair of jeans that fall off now. I put them in the closet to remind me and put them on every now and then. They used to be tight. I can't believe it.
  24. I'm posting to say I hate my BF's cats. They attack my daughter, me and my dogs - mostly my dogs and not me anymore - just the ONCE, which was enough! Now, they're attacking the new living room furniture. I want them either A) Gone, or :cursing: Declawed. He found something online name SoftPaws...anyone heard of them? They're like little plastic socks you glue on to your cat. They're kinda mean cats and I can't see getting that done w/out anethesia....But, it'll be fun to watch. Maybe by the end of it, he'll be right there with me with my option A. And, I'm an animal lover, so for me to hate an animal means they are EVIL.
  25. I probably coulda....and I probably could now after the band. I'd be sick as heck, but I think I could do it. I just don't want to. That's what I don't get. What do these people WANT? The ice cream? or to be thin? Why did they even get surgery? Really? My shrink asked me if I knew and understood what was coming. I nodded, YEAH, YEAH, I GET IT - Now give me my band. But, despite blowing him off: -I did KNOW what I was getting into. -I did follow the post-op instructions. -I do "listen" to my band - sometimes I argue, but a good PB stops me in my tracks... 21? Even though I know that gluttony is in me, it's shameful and appalling. And, HELLO!!!! I'd never admit that in public! Geesh...some people have no pride.
