    February 2014 Sleevers

I was sleeved Feb 24, 2014. I have lost about 42 lbs. I eat mainly protein, a lot of tilapia because it's quick to cook and eggs of course. I started working out 2 weeks ago and still going. I work out about 4 days a week for an hour. About 25 mins of cardio and the rest I do it's weight lifting. I did have a 2 weeks stall and the weight loss is slowing down but I am okay with that. Good luck!!!

    Starting on solids?

I have been blessed with my sleeve. It seems to tolerate anything except dry meat like chicken breast. The key is to eat slow and chew very well, I have also noticed when I do this, I am satisfied very easily which is nice.

    Weight stalling

I have actually been very positive about my stall. I think we see people losing weight so fast/ plus we think about what we had done to our stomach and think "hey I could have done this without the surgery". Things get better. I didn't start to get any energy until I started eating food on my 4th week post op. I have been walking and I recently have gone back to the gym. I have already been on a stall for 2 weeks it's crazy but I have already lost 35 lbs and I am starting to feel better about myself! Remember we not only got the surgery done because we wanted to loose weight but also because we wanted a healthier life style. Make sure your getting all your protien! Don't starve your body! Get plenty of sleep! Take you multivitamins and B12 etc... I have been awful about mine my vitamins make me sick! I'm going to try and take them at night! Hopefully that works!

  7. Today I am 6 weeks post op! I have been walking at least 4 times a week! But I wanna take up a few notches and head back to the gym! I am really wanting to lift weights more then just do lots of cardio. I don't really have anymore abdominal pain or anything. Has anybody had any bad experiences with harder excersice around this time frame? Thanks!

    13 month update

Wow! You look great! This makes me happy because I am the same pant size but now I'm a pant size smaller. Today makes me 6 weeks post op. Down 35 lbs including pre op diet. I hope I look as healthy as you do.

    Weight stalling

Thanks for the reply guys. I figured it was normal. Will stay on track . I still feel great about my decision, today I found a pair of pants I have not worn in a long time, decided to try them and they fit! Very exciting!
  10. I am about 5 weeks post op. I have already lost about 32 lbs but the last 2 weeks I have been the same weight and have not lost anymore. Really the only thing I eat is meat to get all my daily protein. And I have been very active daily. However I have not gone to the gym, but I do take walks. Has this happened to anyone else?

Are you using Gas X? They have strips you can buy. Gas was the worst!

    My journey

I am on week 3 post op. I still do not have the "full" feeling. I start soft foods next week so we will see if that changes.

What made you decide to have VSG?

I'm 22 full time college student, full time worker. I have had weight issues my whole life. I was sick and tired of being obese, not fitting in my desk at school/ the movie theater. It was embarrassing. I never had much energy, my knees and hips would kill me after a long day at work. I tried dieting, exercise, but I always came up with excuses. I was embarrassed to go to the gym because the same people that work out all the time would have noticed I just keep getting bigger and bigger. I never considered surgery until my cousins wife had it done. She looked amazing. She also told me how much happier she was. I began my journey in 9/13, I had to do a lot of stuff before my insurance would consider approving me for surgery. They finally approved me! When I went in for EGD I found out I had H Pylori and a hiatal hernia. Finally I had my surgery 2/24/14. I have already lost 25lbs including my pre-op diet. I am so excited to see what happens in the future. Excited to go back to the gym, decided to make better food choices. It has given me a second chance! I will not go back to the old Heather. This is the new me
