I'm still on week two but I'm curious as to how the transition from the liquids/pureeds was to solids. Easy? Difficult? Painful? Any opinions?

On the third week..I could eat soft foods. It was difficult for me to keep food down. I had to stay on soft food longer than what was recommended. I was in no rush..I was patient to go from one stage to another. After 6 weeks ..I was healed enough to eat anything that was one my food protocol. Don't rush the process. If u have a little difficulty in one stage.. Stay there before u move on to another stage. I.. Call your dr if you cannot progress at all to another stage.

To me the food kind of felt heavy. My first food was a scrambled egg and I could only eat half of it. I had the best luck with yogurt and still do. I get a little nauseated every time I eat but it only lasts about 10-15 mins. I haven't had any pain.

Add new foods one at a time. On the way home from my appointment where I was given to go-ahead for solid foods, I stopped at Wendys and had 1/3 cup of chili and four french fries. One thing I did not tolerate was steamed cauliflower - thought I was going to die. Even now at three months, I can still handle meats better than steamed veggies. Lettuce gave me the whistling **its, so I am not trying that again until about six months. I go easy on fruits because of the carbs, but I put berries in my shakes.

I have been blessed with my sleeve. It seems to tolerate anything except dry meat like chicken breast. The key is to eat slow and chew very well, I have also noticed when I do this, I am satisfied very easily which is nice.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
