  1. Christina, I am so sorry to hear about Gunner. Your story is heart breaking. I hope you feel better soon.
  2. I can't eat pizza. It always gets stuck no matter how much I chew it!
  3. I am 26, I got banded when I was 25, but I guess that not really early 20s!
  4. I am getting my second fill tomorrow. I called the Dr.'s office today and asked how long before should I not eat and she said there is no restriction on that. Is this right? I would think it would be at least 2 hours before??
  5. This sounds really fun. I'm game!
  6. I get mystic tans all the time. They don't last that long but you look really tan for a few days!! I have never been able to turn tan, just red and my freakels multiply, but I look really tan with a mystic tan.
  7. I had the same problem. I was obsessed with it, so I threw my scale away and I weigh once a week at work.
  8. bread and meat like steak, ribs, etc. always get stuck
  9. Isa, does your Dr. have a web site?
  10. my dr. never told me to go on any kind of diet before I had my surgery. I had popeyes chicken the night before!
  11. Does the tt leave a really bad scar? I am really thinking about this. I'm starting to save now, and maybe by the time I have enough $$ I will have lost enough weight.
  12. thats a good point. Thats what I'm thinking!!
  13. Estela, where are you getting all that done for $6000? I'm gonna start saving now! Thats really cheap. litenfee.com where I had my band done, now has a plastic surgeon, but it's much more expencive then that. Let me know where, and how it goes! Thanks
  14. I have tummy tuck question. If one hasn't had kids yet, should you wait til after? Would it streach your tummy back after the tuck? Just wondering.
  15. I had my surgery done in Mexico because my insurance doesn't cover anything for obesity. So, I guess it depends on your insurance. And the costs depends on the DR. All the Dr.s around my area want alot of money. One place wanted 2,000 for a year of fills, one wanted $900, for the first then $250 after that, I finally found one the is $250 for the first and $150 after that.
  16. Yes I totally eat less. My Golden Corral days are OVER! I'm very glad I got the band eventhough the weight is coming off slow. Good luck!
  17. I hope he gets it right! He's 3 hours away! And I WILL be on liquids for 3 days! Last time when I went to Mexico, the Dr. didn't tell us (I met a girl down there who had surgery the day after me) we had to do liquids, and we went to breakfast the next morning and couldn't eat a thing. I had to go spit it all up, it was terrible! The waitress was insulted that we wern't eating, and we tried to explain why, but she didn't understand.
  18. I am going for my second fill on June 15th. I had my first fill on 4-8-05 in Mexico, and the Dr. did a barium swallow while he did the fill. The Dr. I am going to says it's just a fill. So, how does he know if he put too much or too little in you without a barium swallow? Just wondering....
  19. I did not tell about my surgery. The only people that know are my mom, dad, sisters, and one friend, oh and gramdma that gave me the loan to pay for it! It's hard sometimes now that no one knows. I eat very slow and not that much and people who are used to me eating fast and alot wonder why. Sometimes I wish I had just told people because I feel like I am living a lie sometimes and it's too late now to tell anyone. But other times I am glad I didn't tell, because people would be asking me about it all the time and looking to see if I look any smaller, etc.
  20. I am a nursing assistiant. Hopefully a nurse someday if I ever finish school!
  21. I live in the Cleveland area, and the Dr. is in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
  22. I finally found fill Dr. (thanks to Christina (i'llsucceed) I stole her Dr.'s name off her post!) that will do my fills at a very good price ($250 for the first w/ consult and $150 everyone after that) Every other Dr. I have found wants alot of money up front that I don't have. I am getting filled on June 15th. It is 3 hours away for me, but that ok. Hopefully this fill will be the one that really helps!
  23. I am so happy for you!! Here's the start to the new you!!!
  24. I was banded in Mexico, and I paid $8000, plus 2 airfares, and one more airfare for my first fill = $9500 so far. I didn't have any complaints about mexico, but if I could have got it done for a little more I would have, because I am having a hard time finding a fill dr. and when I do find one, they want an arm and a leg to give ya a fill, because they know that you need them! Good luck to you!
