  2. I had surgery on a Thurs., and got out of the hospital in Fri. and went to the movies and shopping (in mexico) on Fri. night. I didn't take the pain pills, I really wasn't in much pain. I think you'll be alright! Good luck!
  3. I used to pb several times a day. Now about every other day. I have had my band for 10 weeks.
  4. hi I was wondering how one would know if their lap band slipped. I have vomited quite a bit and I am always afraid my band will slip. Everytime after I vomit or pb I wonder if my band slipped, so I was wondering would I feel it, would I know?? thanks!!

  6. Hi, I am just wondering about something. When you get a fill, at first you can't eat much and then I can eat alot and need another fill. What happens? Does the stomach streach? I was just wondering! thanks
  7. I talked to the WISH center in Ohio and she said I would need $815 for the first fill.
  8. Hi Cathy, I've thought of doing shakes also, but I didn't put my self in all this debt to have to drink shakes instead of food, I could have done that on my own. I feel this band will work, as soon as I get it right. I have a consult appt with a fill dr. 2.5 hrs away. Its gonna cost me a bit but it's cheaper then hopping back on a plane to Mexico everytime I get hungry. Hopefully after my next fillwill see a difference. I am also gonna start exercising more, that should help.
  9. Hi, thanks for the tips! My dr. was Dr. De la Garza. He was very nice, and so was everyone else in Mexico. The only thing that I was not happy with was, when I was first looking into getting this done the girl that was answering all my questions, I asked her how many fills would I need and she said 2-3 fills for life. I didn't know any better so I believed her and now I hear that it's 4-6 the first year! It's also my fault for not looking into it myself. I had a fill 4 weeks ago and I feel like I can eat anything I want again this past week. I just hope that I can get this right soon. If I would have known all this hassle with all these fills and the price these fill dr.s want for mexico patients, I probably should have had it done here in Ohio. I just feel bad because I thought I'd have alot of weight off by now.
  10. Thanks Jennifer! Actually I did call them and they are the best price I can find. I like in the Cleveland area so it's gonna be like a 2.5 hr. drive, but it's the best price. Thanks!
  11. I am feeling very discouraged these days. I had my first fill 3 weeks ago and have only lost 2 pounds. All together 22 pounds. Most foods I can't eat much at all but alot of things like crunchy things gone down with feeling no restriction all. I'm having a problem finding a fill dr. that wont charge me an arm and a leg. I talked to one today and she said $2,000 for the first year of fills! and she asked me how much I paid in Mexico and I told her and she said I could of had it done here for $2,000-$3,000 more then that! I was like great! I feel like I'm never gonna loose this weight. I've waited my whole life to get this done and now I feel like it's not working. Any words of advice? Thanks, Ali
  12. I have a stupid question. I am new to this and I keep reading PB, what does that mean? Thanks! Ali Banded 2/24/05 Dr. Javier Gerardo de la Garza Monterrey, Mexico
  13. anyone know of any fill dr.s in ohio?? thanks!
  14. Hi all, I had my surgery on 2/24/05 in Monterry, Mexico, I lost 20lbs. in the first 6 weeks. I went back to Mexico on 4/8/05 to get my first fill. He put 1.6cc in. He tried putting in 2 but he said it was too much. I couln't eat anything without throwing it up. I felt hurgry all the time. Now I can eat somethings, but I don't feel like I have enough restriction. Somethings I eat I have to throw up. I am afraid I'm gonna make my band slip. Does anyone know: is it hard to make your band slip? When I have to throw up, it gets like stuck in my esophagus, and it causes me to throw up quite a bit, and I'm afraid my band it gonna slip. Anyway, now I feel I need more restriction. I am a little discouraged, I lost the 20, and I haven't lost anymore. I was waiting for a fill for so long, and I was so excited about getting it and really losing weight fast and now I haven't. I am looking for a fill dr. in my area beacuse I can't fly back to mexico everytime I get hungry!! any words of advice would be great!! thanks
