thicvik reacted to Violet P in HELP! 7 YR POST OP WASTING BAD LABS HOW TO RECOVER?
Thanks so much for your reply. I've been thinking in old "maintain weight" rules. I'm down to a size 2 and losing . No appetite whatsoever. Nothing tastes good...almost anorexic. Wish I could do reversal, but don't know if it's possible. I revised from VBG because of severe acid reflux. Told could only do Bypass. Now, I feel as I may literally die eariy if I don't get rid of this. I don't cook, so that's out. Frozen meals if Im lucky can do 8 to 10 bites. And that's a 340 calorie total meal. Im probably absorbing about 600 to 700 calories a day if I'm lucky. I think I'm getting anorexic. I have a total revulsion to food. Nothing tastes good! Don't have the energy to even drive to buy milkshakes every day. Can barely get to hematologist. On Vit B12 injections for past 4 weeks, had first Iron infusion last week, getting another next Tuesday. Also taking double dose of strong 8 wk Vit D therapy. Labs are getting much better, but still feel like hell. Super anxiety, memory loss, I am totally overwhelmed. Crying as I'm writing this. God, I wish I had done intensive therapy before I started all of this. It IS the answer for so many, but not for me now at 67. My health is more important. Even though I was obese for 15 years, I had no chronic health conditions. But fearing I would, I chose weight loss surgery. Now, I'm fearing Im going to die early from this. IF a reversal is possible, not even sure I would be a good candidate for surgery until I can get stronger.

Hi, I have a question for post - op I'm having my surgery on 7/3/14 and I'm due to start my summer session in college. Do anyone think that would be a bad idea. I have heard of people going back to work in a week. I figured I took two weeks off work and my class is only 2 days a week so I can recuperate the rest of the time I'm not at work. A couple of family members been saying I'm doing to much and now I'm second guessing myself please give me an advise you can thanks

thicvik got a reaction from Jencovi in think he liked me better fat..:-(
This is the exact reason why I didn't tell my husband about my weight loss surgery. I just don't think he would be supportive at all. He thinks I had a hernia repair hahaha.. He stayed the hospital and all with me.. Right now today I'm 41lbs down and he still doesn't know..Men can very unsupportive and mean at time... Just continue to be strong lose your weight and lose him if he can't accept the new you... I know that's not nice but it is what it is..

thicvik reacted to Suko67 in Hit my 9 month mark--almost to goal weight before/after photos
Hello All:
It's been a few months since I've been on this forums, but all those who had gone through the VSG before me and gave me such wonderful advise and encouragement--I wanted to say THANK YOU!
I am at my 9 month mark post surg, and I have maneuvered through the maze of adopting a whole new relationship with "eating" and healthy lifestyle and I wanted to put myself out there for anyone who would like some encouragement or anyone who has questions about the procedure (positive and negative). According to my surgeon I am in the <10% who have experienced some unwanted effects of the procedure--BUT given even the (at times) struggle with those negative effects--I would do this all over again to LIVE this wonderful life I have now.
I have lost 76lbs, started at 222 and I am now 146.
From BMI of 39.4 to new BMI 25.2
From size 16 to size 6.
I no longer use a CPAP because I no longer have sleep apnea.
My back pain is (mostly) gone.
I can walk up flights of stairs w/o feeling like I was going to pass out!
If anybody out there has had the sleeve or is considering the sleeve--please use me as support!
I am still losing weight (I would like to lose 12 lbs more) and I am toning my body up.
I've attached a picture from my birthday in 2013 right before my surgery and a picture from Thanksgiving of this year (about 6.5 months post sleeve). I will try to get some more recent pictures taken.
. Before
. In progress

Anabanana
You are a trooper and I pray everything had healed so that you can resume a normal eating life.
I was sleeved on 1/7 had to stay in the hospital 1 extra day because of the nauseousness. I was sent down to be checked for leaks and everything was good. But over all I've been feeling pretty good beside the pain I've been having in my left shoulder/neck. I went to the dr today was check, and Dr said its not surgery related Thank God, so they prescribed me a muscle relaxer.

I was sleeved on 1/7 and it's been an amazing 14days. 21 pounds down 11lb preop 10 postop, although I think about food I have no taste for it. My focus is to get my 60gm of Protein stay below my 800 calories and sip as much Water as possible. I am so ready to be 100 pounds lighter. Good Luck everyone
