  1. Am I the only person from Wi? It sure is a gloomy day here today. I can see why every one would want to be somewhere else! I can actually hear thunder! Sharon
  2. This is cool. All you sixties come over here so we can find each other. It's very foggy here this week and there were 2 huge car pile-ups on I90-I94 last night. About 50 cars involved and 2 deaths and several in critical condition. It's a dark gloomy day . Hard to get motivated for anything. Good day to just go back to bed. Sharon:notagree
  3. WOW That is incredible!
  4. I'm wishing now that I wouldn't have tild anyone for that very reason! We tenacious tens seem to be a sad bunch right now. I guess we are all in bandster hell. I'm so disgusted that my first fill did nothing!
  5. Oh thank you thank you for the pep talk. I'm really beginning to have doubts about ever getting any restriction, much less losing any weight. Your letter is just what I needed!
  6. I think we would go nuts if we tried to follow everyones instructions. Every Dr seems to have completely different ideas on what to do before and after surgery and before and after fills. I think mine is the least restrictive of any I have heard of. I started on pureed foods while still in hosp. I had cream of wheat and pureed cottage cheese and applesuase. I was told to eat babyfood meat. A jar at a time. It's not too bad with a little salt. And I could have as much slimfast as I wanted. (low carb type) I would suggest mixing powdered protien into other things. I even mix it in cottage cheese. NOT yummy. Good luck.
  7. As I understand it, the water will wash the food into your large stomach and you won't get your full feeling.

It's over 2 months since surgery and I've only lost 15#. I had one fill...worthless. In a couple weeks I get another. I sure hope it works.

  10. My clinic recomends colace and benefiber. I find if I have artificial sweetner I don't need anything else! Kellogs makes some delicious baked bran crackers if you are at a stage where you can eat.
  11. Good morning everyone, I love you guys. I don't post here much but always read everything and get so much inspiration from this group of faithful believers. Welcome Linda. God has helped you make a good decision. Better health ahead. Phyllser, soon you may be able to donate that scooter to someone else!
  12. Bud, It isn't so much which hosp will accept medicare, it is what hosp. medicare will pay. The hosp has to be a "CENTER OF EXCELENCE" That's an accreditation they get for standards they meet in a field (in this case, bariatric surgery. Medicare will only pay for surgery at hosp with that accredidation. Obviously I can't spell!!! But I tried.
  13. My Dr forbids NSAIDS, smoking, soda pop, and caffeine.
  14. I smoked like a chimney for years and the 5th time I quit it took. Of course I'm addicted to food or maybe just to carbs. And I think I'm addicted to this site. If I spent as much time exercising as I do here I would be fit as a fiddle.
  15. Did you try benadryl cream or hydrocortisone cream?
  16. Dang, I can't see them either.
  17. Hi everyone, I'm right with those of you who have no restriction. I can eat anything and don't even chew it to mush. Had 1 fill and another scheduled for the 15th of Jan. I will be sooooo bummed if that one doesn't help. I haven't lost anything for about 3 weeks and I'm always hungry. I've been having a slimfast for breakfast every day since surgery and it's always kept me filled. Today it didn't do a thing for me. I want toast and peanut butter like I always had before. On the positive side, I haven't gained.:hungry:
  18. Peaches, put ice on your back if you haven't already.
  19. My Dr said never again any NSAIDS which are non-steroid anti-inflamatory drugs. That would include aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxin and most prescription arthritis meds. I had the idea that if I lost some weight my pain would go away. I guess I haven't lost enough but I didn't realize how much my NSAIDS were helping my pain. I'm miserable right now. Tylenol is not helping enough and I don't want to take any narcotics. Not sure what to do (and I am a nurse):scared:
  20. I like unflavored unjury because you can hide it in just about anything.
  21. A yoplait light yogurt does the trick for me. I can't sleep if I feel hungry.
  22. I.'m usually laughing all the way to OR too. I've had a lot of surgeries. I actually look forward to the happy juice they stick in the IV! I ask for gas from the dentist too. I enjoy the whole experience. It's a good thing I don't drink. Now the pain and pain meds after surgery is a whole different story. I don't like that feeling of being groggy and out of it.
  23. But isn't the whole point of the pouch to keep the food there longer?
  24. I would like to know how to resize a pic, how to change my name from sfeiner to munch2much (if you can do it for me, that would be great) and how to stop the email notifications of new postings. Thanks much
  25. I discovered a tastey way to get your fiber and I promice constipation will be a thing of the past. Kelloggs has a cracker called "All Bran Crackers" Multi grain and garlic/herb and baked. Very good! I ate too many yesterday! :cry
