I think you should start with higher calorie meal replacements that is also high in protein.They are higher in carbs and help with weight gain.My 76 year lod father had stomach surgery and he cannot eat.The meal replacements have helped him put on 10 pounds and he has kept it on.He drinks 2 meal replacements a day as snacks 2,5 hours after his small meal.

    You dont have to eat more food.There are lots of people,especially older people,that cannot eat and they do fine on meal replacements in addition to their food.

    If you look at my blog earlier,I lost around 7 pounds at most every month.Then I said whatever and decided to eat what I enjoy.Started buying chicken breast,veal and beef stirfry meat.I lightly floured it and shallow fried it in a wok with olive oil.With this I also fried some onion and capsicum,lots, and found myself eating this ALL THE TIME.LOTS of it.At least 250g per day.Some days more.I also went back to full fat milk and use loads in my 5 cups of tea per day.Another thing I did was add 2 dolchi letche (spelling incorrect) cappuchinos per day.Full fat.I upped my vitamins and voila,dropped a load of weight with breaded fried proteins.Worked for me!But I wasnt aiming to lose much at all before the holiday as I made my new years goal in November so I didnt feel pressured to lose.Maybe thats why I did.Bought all my clothes in November (for the holiday) and they were to big even before we left..lol

    Started asking myself why this happened which lead me to do some research into fat.My carbs were easily 20 from the milk and another 30 from the flour.My fats were up to who knows what.I now follow a full fat,50 carb,lots of protein plan and even now,after the holiday,I am dropping steadily.My whole family is back on full fats and the food is tastier than ever before.I have come to the conclusion that we need fat.Healthy fat.Sugar is my enemy,not fat and not complex carbs.

    One other thing.We also ate a lot of spicy food then.Have a student from India staying with us now and she's teaching me to cook Indian.They use loads of fat as well.I think the spicy food made me eat less as well.Who knows.

    It still scares and amazes me to eat like this.I expect to gain every day when I weigh but I am actually losing about .3 per day now.I deliberately slow this down as I am only 3 pounds from goal and dont know what I will do once Im at goal.So Im stretching this out a bit..hehehe!

    Maybe just try something different.Food,the right kind though,that you never eat.Spicy food.Caffine.More fish,more meat.

    Dont rush yourself.I causes stress that makes us want to eat.You have come so far already an people dont really see how much we have lost,just that we have lost.It was pressure to lose the first 96, now enjoy losing the last 20.I cN even laugh at the scale when I get on it 22:00 in the evening and it is 3 pounds heavier than in the morning.Previously it freaked me out.

    I think its the fact that I dont ever eat stuff like that now.I know for a fact that I cannot eat chips.And I know I didnt chew well enough.Having said all that when I eat carbs with protein I also tend ot eat too much.

    Off to go do some food shopping today which will help.Woolies here have loads of low cal pre prepared protein sources like chicken fillets.A great go to when I know others a re eating wrong stuff.


  4. Debiosbo,I think part of the issue was my volume of food at the moment is super small again.My stomach might have been empty after dinner.I am losing weight really fast right now,dont really have an appetite,just care about the proteins.

    What surprized me though was that it happened as soon as the amarula hit my stomach.Immediately I could feel something was wrong.I walked around with the glass in my hand for a while,not wanting to turf it,but never even took a second sip.

    In July while on holiday we had some of the same atuff quite a few times.And I've had a couple of pina quiladas on our qeekend breaks,lots of sugar in coconut milk.And I was fine then.It just seems to have no pattern to it but it is not a bad thing.Will keep me away from the sugar and ice cream when going to SA next week (its summer there and quite hot)

    Sounds like I drink a lot which I really dont.i think I have mentioned every drink I've had in the past 5 months in these posts..lol.We have a drink maybe once a week,sometimes not!


  5. Listen,your doctor should be with me in the toilet right now and he will know that we do dump..lol

    I am fine with all foods and milk,in fact I use a lot of milk every day.Dont do any acid forming food thoug except the coffee.

    Go read the symptoms of dumping...I had every single one and the runnt tummy and nausea is stiil happening.I posted this about 20 minutes after my little mistake (sip) and thought is was over.

    Too many people report incidents like this.What should we call it?Sorry if I sound a bit crabby,not feeling too well and the dr's just think they know everything.


  6. DanaInNewOrleans,I am not strictly low carb though.I am between 30 and 60 carbs a dayI use way to much milk every day,some days my carbs from that is over 30.It just seems that when I go that low calories I have to get a little more carbs and fats.Not too much but some.

    But then,some days I am very low carb and some days not.Maybe the very fact that I am not consistent also helps as the body is never deprived of anything for too long.But then,who knows!

My skin will get thicker Im sure.Just not use to so much attention,be it positive or negative.big people are so often dismissed that I am still a little resentful about the change in some for the attention they now give me after disregarding me for so long and angry at some for not really loving me the way I am now,rhin.We joke and say a bad side effect of this surgery is my personality seems to have shrunk with my body and That is just not a good thing.


  8. Hi dinnh,

    I take 2 egg whites,a scoop of french vanilla protein powder ( disolved in a little water)Add to that a little half and half (30ml).Now I add Ispagulla husk to it (20g of fiber)I allow the fiber to swell up and then I make sweet,but not too sweet,pancakes with it.The consistency of my mix is different all the time though as I just chuck things together.

    I eat it with sf maple syrup and it is a meal and pudding for me all in one.

    The cals is 150 protein is 34 and it is very filling.Some days I eat this in 2 portions as morning and afternoon snack as Im trying to spread the protein out over the day.


  9. Hi,but lets face it,when we were the safe friend they were the pretty ones!

    Some of my closest friends were often the most beautiful girl in any room at any time.I often wondered why they would be such good friends with me,didnt fit in with their picture.Sadly,most of them are not around anymore and that is ok.But my 2 best friends got over themselves and are super supportive.

  10. Hi,mostly I do fine.At 45,and as a new creation,I just have a bad day usually when PMS'sing.Problem is it just hits me out of the blue and I cannot always makes the connection immediately.

    Today,I feel gr8 and somehow wished I just didnt put all this out there!Maybe I should look into editing it anyway...lol

  11. Thanks for the great comments.Interesting website,and I want to be skinny one day too.lol.I will not be satisfied until that day.Just have to start being more consistent in the exercise and not use this hernia as an excuse now...lol
