cancellation of surgey
I was told if my doctor found food in my tummy or intestines the day of surgery, he would sew me up and send me on my way. The lady that works for the hospital told me he's done it. You really need to stick to it the last week and no. I didn't cheat at all. I lost 22 pounds in the two weeks before surgery. Of course, I pigged out the two weeks BEFORE that...so I felt fine about it.

Not even yogurt? Fage with raspberry sugar free syrup is my new favorite....

Tough Day at large food event
You did beautifully. I understand. I have a work potluck. Yay. For two days in a ROW there will be an office FULL of food and 13 chicks stuffing their faces like they've never eaten before in their lives. We had 2 people graduate and 2 student workers are leaving. So yay. ugh. I'm leaving for lunch, not going to the break room at all...I'm going to drink my water, eat my babybell and then my yogurt, I'll shop during lunch. I'm just going to ignore it. IT AND THE 13 CHIPMUNKS WITH CAKE IN THEIR CHEEKS.

New to the group
I worried like crazy about complications and luckily I haven't had any yet. My insurance covered 4k MAX. Per year I think. I'm not sure about that though so I ended up paying 12k out of pocket. I've never taken student loans before but that's what I did. I dunno, I just couldn't take being fat anymore. If complications arise....I'll deal with it. The numbers are in our side. We're more likely to not have any than to have some.

Can you help me with my water?
I had issues getting enough in. I drink up until I eat. I don't do the 30 before....it has a hole in the bottom....the water drains right out...I'm not sure why they say this rule..but I make sure it's been at least 5-10 minutes I also don't worry about not drinking after protein drinks. It's also a drink...so that helps. I can now drink normally and mine was 4.1. Just keep on keeping on. Eat Popsicle if you can .

I just had problems getting enough in at first. I can drink regularally now. I'm not sure if that's good or bad. I don't gulp my drink, but I can drink normally and take several good swallows. Maybe it will just take a bit for your stomach to get used to it.

I don't, but I have heard of some that do. Have you tried ice cold water if the ice chips work? And have you tried adding any flavoring *not acidic like lemon* to your water? And if cold doesn't work, maybe try warm?

Good lord, this place makes me feel like a loser and not in a good way. Have you lost that much JUST since surgery? I've lost 24 pounds. Since surgery itself. MORE than I would have lost without surgery and I try not to judge my loss by others...but damn. What date was your surgery?

and that vid turned out HUGE. I just meant to post the LINK to the vid, not that huge vid itself. Sorry about messing up your thread. :X

Music
lol, it's just fast paced. I like stuff with a steady beat I can kind of tune out all BUT the beat. I zone out when I get on the elliptical. Makes it go by quicker

well my surgery was april 1. today is 5/5...and supposedly today, on my nuts plan, is the day I go to ground meat and 100% wheat bread. I'm a bit scared....to say the least. I've had it pretty good. The only thing that has bothered me is an egg. I don't know if I'm ready for all that. I haven't thrown up at all yet *the egg started the foamies and a bit of spit up but that's fine* and I still have that common fear of vomiting and ripping out my stomach.

The "old" stomach
O_0......something else for me to obsess over. It's a good question, for sure.

Music
I prefer dubstep and techno to workout...but I do "fat burn" on the elliptical...so it's fast paced. This is my favorite Then again...I drive a charger on 20s with blacked out windows...and a complete system with amp and subwoofers. So dubstep is a huge part of my day.

help you guys
I don't know...but it's a huge fear of mine. I would think....eating a measured amount. After a year it's supposed to "mature" to hold 6 to 8 oz at a time.

DaVinci gourmet sugar free syrups
I have pumpkin pie, peppermint, coconut, almond, butterscotch and caramel. In the torini I have chocolate, hazelnut, raspberry and vanilla. The only one I don't use in yogurt is my peppermint and I made a chocolate peppermint protein shake the other day. T'was good. I also like the pumpkin in my vanilla shakes with a touch of caramel.

I didn't go for over a week. Finally happened. Now no matter what I do, I have to use a softener.

What ya eating tonight?
I'm still pretty fresh on the surgery...my newest favorite is Fage Total 2% plain yogurt with raspberry Torini sugar free syrup. it's delightfullness and luckily, I seem to have no issues with milk products.

Medical Alert Bracelet
You can find one that isn't too obvious and that says "check wallet" or "info". I've been shopping around. I don't want to announce my surgery...but I don't want any issues cuz I didn't have one. I'm thinking of just finding a regular medical alert "heart" and having gastric bypass engraved on the back. It can go on my regular charm bracelet.

Is it the whey isolate that we need? I've yet to find pure whey isolate at Walmart?

I miss guzzling water
I did at first but not now. Mine was April 1st. I'm now having no problems getting fluids in and I can drink regularly and I prefer it ice cold. So. It took me a few weeks. I can't guzzle...but I can drink, not sip. Just give it time

Lost all this weight...
I'm going to need an arm job. But lets face it...before you lost the weight, did you feel comfortable in short sleeve or sleeveless? I don't. I always wear elbow length or 3/4 sleeves.
-
So confused!
Bypass. It would suck to have two surgeries and I've seen too many people not be successful with the sleeve. Plus, I heard that acid reflux is horrible.
