  1. Today was the day I could have deli meat! Thin shaved turkey with cheese and melted in the microwave. Delightful.
  2. Girl, that can cause major problems. Sip hot water and lemon. Try to get it soft enough to move on through. Mine says no to gum cuz it can obstruct the pouch so nothing can get out.
  3. Do you have an addictive personality? I noticed you asking about smoking earlier. I have an addictive personality. food, cigarettes, alcohol....whatever. But I'm trying to be healthy...and I just went 12 grand out of pocket to try to lose weight. And I've been quit on the smoking for over 2 years. So smokes and booze are not in my future (unless if it's just wine with a friend...and only occasionally. I'm not even planning that). And I'm not judging...I just didn't waste a bunch of money to be an addict to other things. I've seen too much cross addiction when researching this step in my life. You should ask your surgeon when they recommend drinking. Many say 6 months...some say a year. Then it's only supposed to be one drink at a time (I think). I didn't ask my surgeon about this, since I have no plans to do it. It's not recommended to drink a lot though....and alcoholism is a major problem with post GB patients.
  4. I've had some of it after...you know, "I'm glad you're happy but everything has a consequence! I hope you're one of the lucky ones!" "Wow, I've known some have little bad things later and some with tons!" I finally said it was amazing how many double sided compliments one gets after this and that it was like saying "Congratulations on your marriage! There's a 75% chance you'll get divorced! Good luck with that!" It's rude.
  5. It hindered mine. It was all I was eating though.

  7. lol, it's entirely possible! He did say he's had people come in and not do surgery because they couldn't give up the food. I think he just doesn't want anyone to make a mistake. Maybe.
  8. Meatballs, meatballs, meatballs. Seems all I eat now is cheese and meatballs. For lunch I had chicken salad.
  9. I don't know. Mine was a 2 week shake diet. I could have dill pickles the first week. I only cheated once and that was a few days in when I ate a handful of crackers because I was nauseous I dropped 22 pds. I was jealous of those that could eat food though. My doctor, I think, had the shock value thing going on with it. If you can't stay on a shake diet for 2 weeks, why think you could do this? This is WAY more severe. It's basically divorcing every single thing you love in food. I guess that why he didn't give the food option.

Mine is cheetos. I'm more of a savory salty girl.
  11. Thank you! I've been looking them up! I just didn't know "carb sensitivity" could slow me like that with that little calories and it can. I wish I'd known that before. I might have managed to lose some weight on my own! Not that I regret this step, but I never considered carb sensitivity. I always had dietitians that were "calories in and calories out" period. So I just mentioned this since others might be too and it DID break my stall. I've also found a ton of good recipes on Pinterest.
  12. It is. I just look at people like, YOU LOST YOUR DAMN MIND! When they ask if it's easy. It's not. Not at all.
  13. I refuse to give up mine, and YES. I weigh every single day. It works for me and doesn't drive me crazy. So if it drives you crazy, don't buy it. If it doesn't then that's fine too. Maybe buy one and put it at someone else's house? So you could weigh 2 times a week or something?
  14. I don't know. Could it be an esophagus spasm? Have you called your surgeon? Mine calls me back really quick...
  15. It's losing fat so rapidly from the hardcore diet. Mine told me "no weight loss, no surgery"
  16. I'm going to go with seasonal allergies. Or that I don't drink at all at night. I don't know. I'll start drinking more. If not, I'll call the doc and see what I can take. My blood pressure is good. I've never had any issues there.
  17. Thank you!!!! I get a ton of water all day...but maybe I need more at night! Even though I end up having to get up in the middle and pee...sigh. But I'll give it a shot. Most days I hit at least 100 oZ thought.
  18. So, I've been disappointed with my loss. I'm down 51 pounds but 22 was from the shake diet. This means I've lost 29 since surgery on April 1st. That's what.....43 days? This is what? I'm horrible at math. Like an average of 5 pounds a week. So I should be happy. Sure I should... Except for the last 3 weeks it's been SLOW. Like slow slow. I quit eating carbs and dropped pounds. Literally stopped my stall. So I messaged my dietitian She thinks I'm "carb sensitive" so now I have to give them up. I'm willing to for now. I can have them later when I'm maintaining. For now...no Beans. So, if you just had surgery recently and you're disappointed in your progress...just quit all your carbs. For me...it helped.
  19. Hey, did you use reduced sugar BBQ sauce? Do you have issues with sugar? I haven't even tried it.
  20. No, I don't think so. To rubbery. I guess you could grind them up. That would be gross though.
  21. canned chicken, canned tuna, anything put in the food processor to "spread consistency" and any fish you can squish with a fork.
  22. I'm once again having meatballs. I even had them for breakfast. And lunch.
  23. Unjury is all I can handle after surgery and I have to make it with milk, NOT WATER, if I did water, I'd hurl. I also found I have to use flavored syrups to cover up the horrible protein flavor.
  24. I also found mine at Walmart.
  25. Maybe, I don't think so though. I drink between 80-100+ oz of water a day. How could I be?
