  1. I also was thin my whole life *with bouts of fatness and horribly unhealthy starvation habits that finally blew my metabolism*. I have my mister take pics of me so I have the whole self realization. Let's face it, if you're like me you've had the whole "I can't see you, you can't see me" in your head with your own self image. We avoid mirrors, tight clothing and pics. I had tons of pics while I was thin, NONE now that I'm obese. Now I have Mister take them so I can face myself. The denial of, I'm not that big! I can eat that! is just that for me. Denial. I AM that big and I CAN'T eat that.
  2. Wonderful job! Congratulations!
  3. Does anyone else wake up with headaches all the time? I have one pretty much every morning. Not big ones.....just annoying.
  4. I took 91% fat free ground chuck, 2 egg whites, salt, garlic powder and ranch mix. Then I baked them. They were really good. I made sure I chewed them up until they were pretty much apple sauce consistency.
  5. It didn't say I couldn't have red meat, so I made them. I was curious about it...but I figured, if I couldn't have any, they would have mentioned it. It just says ground meat.
  6. I ate TWO meatballs! I'm excited. I had no problems with beef.
  7. I'm eating a weight watcher colby jack cheese stick snack. No carbs and it weighs exactly 1 oz. I have low carb meatballs in the oven.
  8. I remember yelling at my mister the first couple of weeks out. He couldn't eat in the room with me. He had to open the kitchen windows and close the door to our room if he cooked. I just couldn't take it. Everything made me sick feeling. Now I cook for them. Stuff I don't want. The other night I fixed them hamburger helper. I just watched it cook...going...ew. NASTY. So. I then watched them eat it. GROSS. I feel that way about most things I cook for them now. Poor guys are living no corn dogs, chicken nuggets, burritos, hamburger helper and chili dogs. they like it.....I find it revolting. So the smell thing gets better.
  9. Thanks for all the replies! Yes, I take Zantac. This was the email from my surgeon: "There can be a few acid producing cells along the lesser curve of your stomach and thus be part of your new pouch. Try some omperazole (Prilosec) twice a day for one week then at night for a week or two. Be careful with portion sizes when you are eating. Call us back if this persists." I always weigh my food. I've had a pain on my left side and I've felt icky all day today. So I do hope it's all okay, but I will follow these directions. Hopefully it helps. I need to check if I can take my Zantac with Prilosec.
  10. So, I vomited for the first time. Kind of just a few mouthfulls of slime....and a bit of food. I swear it tasted like stomach bile...didn't look like it...but tasted like the acid. I haven't had issues with vomiting or nausea or anything like that. I didn't feel ill today. No problems with food...just tonight it didn't agree with me. Should I be super worried that it tasted like acid?
  11. I understand. I'm flat terrified of food.
  12. Does anyone kind of taste stomach acid when they vomit? I vomited for the first time...just a little bit of food and *THIS IS NASTY SO SORRY* lots of slime...avocado and I don't get along apparently and it tasted a bit like vomit. I thought I wasn't supposed to taste bile anymore? I still feel kind of bad...but it's the first time I've vomited and I've been eating fine. So I'm not in pain or constantly sick...I don't even usually feel nauseous...like ever. Has anyone else tasted this? Should I be worried?
  13. Okay, good. Seedy bread is my favorite. I've got so much dental work and such I'm worried about chewing it enough. How big are openings of the stoma?
  14. When I got home, I had a bit of morningstar black bean burger with american cheese, sugar free ketchup and mustard and 1/4 a slice of toasted whole what bread. Then before bed, my new favorite protein drink. Unjury chocolate splendor with sugar free raspberry syrup and a shot of the sugar free caramel. It's delightful. The raspberry is by far my favorite for flavoring yogurt and protein drinks.
  15. I'm so very terrified of throwing up! And little things like "are the seeds in the bread okay?" just throw me for a loop. I have a diet plan. I have a food list...but it doesn't really cover stuff like that!
  16. Thank you so much. You both made me feel so much better. I did eat the burger and the piece of bread. I spit out seeds and corn that bothered me and I feel fine! THANK YOU
  17. Thank you. I'm just worried I got the wrong bread. I'm worried the morningstar patties aren't okay. sigh. I'm so scared I'll mess this up!
  18. I know there are worse things to be freaked out about. Bees, clowns, dollar store makeup....but I'm SERIOUSLY freaked out by food. I'm over 1 month out and according to the plan my nut gave me, I can now have bread *wheat* and ground meat. Moist. The exact wording is "Phase III 5/5-6/2 You may now increase meat consistency to ground (make sure that it is very moist) and toasted 100% wheat bread" Then "Week 6: 5/19 You may now begin lean thinly shaved deli meats" So here I am...with a black bean morningstar *1/2 patty with cheese) and 1/4 peice of toasted wheat bread...and I am TERRIFIED to eat it. I cooked the burger very moist...I can smoosh it with my fork. But it has bits of corn. Now I'm terrified if that's okay. And the bread has little chucks of seeds...and I'm terrified if THAT's okay. I'm terrified of throwing up...still hasn't happened. I'm terrified of hurting my pouch!!! Is this normal? Do I need counseling? I didn't have to do any counseling or groups before I had this. My town doesn't have a support group. Is it normal to be scared of all food? I weigh everything...I know it's not too much...I'm just so darn scared to eat it.
  19. It only happened after I started the elliptical.
  20. I had a 2 week stall. I had to start working out more to lose. I'm still only losing about 2-3 pounds a week.
