  1. I slept in my bed right after surgery when I got home. I just slept on my back and propped up on pillows. It took a pain pill for the first few nights to be able to sleep
  2. So, I'm finally up to 30 minutes of hardcore cardio! And I went ahead and ordered a medic alert bracelet. http://www.stickyj.com/aa1047.html#.UaQYV0BwqQg I put my name (on front), then on the back: no blind ng, no nsaids, no sugar and my surgeons number.
  3. Soy hurts the absorption of the meds and also slows it down. I love lots of soy products, but I majorly limit myself. Also, you have to take your thyroid med at least 2 hours away from any supplements. Calcium and Vitamins also block the absorption of Synthroid.
  4. You're not even a week out. I felt like poo that first week. Pain meds were my friends. *always call your surgeon if it seems unreasonable or "different"*
  5. Well...maybe watered down? I drink tons of zero calorie grape drink enhancer. I'll start doing fruit in the water as soon as it's really in season. I like ice cold water with lemons and strawberries.
  6. Does that have caffeine? We aren't supposed to have caffeine. I don't drink plain water either..I use the squirt grape "drink enhancer" at walmart
  7. That's wonderful. I am enjoying the no hunger thing.
  8. Do you use it daily?
  9. hey hey!! I found it. You put www.myfitnesspal.com/nella1975 !! so you can just paste peoples user name in. That's cool. I feel like an idiot
  10. Mine is nella1975 and thank you!
  11. how do you add with just a user name? I only see "add contacts" and "add by email"
  12. Oh, and is anyone on fitness pal? I only have 1 friend there and would like more. I'm gangstashanel@yahoo.com *explanation on the email: I was once terribly addicted to mafia wars*
  13. I own 3. Kitchen, and two in the bathroom.
  14. Happy Birthday Rem Okay, now a question: Do any of you use a stool softener? If so, do you take it daily? How often do you if its not daily? Every time I have a BM, it's like giving birth. sorry for the visual. So I do have a stool softener, but I've never really had any issues before surgery. I only go about once a week...but darn. It's painful.
  15. My surgery was 4/1/13. I never feel full or hungry. I have some head hunger of course, but nothing real. You have to remember. Most or all of the nerves to your stomach were cut. Nerves only grow back so much at a time and sometimes not at all. A friend of mine had this years ago. She hasn't felt hungry since. So I guess everyone is different.
  16. I think mine is 1100-1200. Right now I'm to push for 800. I get between 500-800 daily. Rarely do I go over. I really gotta give up that frozen yogurt. BUT IT'S SO GOOD.
  17. Try the egg one maybe? I have Hashimotos Thyroiditis *body is killing my thyroid the stupid twit, I honestly think my body frakking hates me* Anyway, I avoid soy. It slows down your thyroid. I'm pretty sure that's what the article will tell you. Also, as soon as I wake up, on an empty stomach, I chew up my synthroid. My levels have been way better since I started chewing, not swallowing the pill whole.
  18. Call your surgeon. That said, I had a horrible pain right next to my bellybutton at about the same time. Freaked me out. They told me a heating pad and rest. Pain pills as needed. Still. I called my surgeon. Mine has a nurse that is always available.
  19. Oh and welcome to the group. I'm sure you can find several people in a fabulous August thread somewhere!
  20. I went and cruised craigslist until I found a gym closing and bought a Commercial Grade Elliptical. Best decision ever. I have no excuse to not get on it each day. Water. Protein. Quit carbs. The quitting carbs is the most effective along with exercise from what I can tell from posts all over the internets.
  21. Yes, I'm on antis right now and I break them in half. It tastes terrible! It's a sulfa drug and just.....dissolves at contact with the Fluid. Ugh. I was scared to swallow them at first, but I made sure with my surgeon and he seemed confident that my pouch and I would be cool.
  22. I have to try them. So, I've been eating meatloaf. Pretty much it. I also have to give up the Healthy Choice frozen greek yogurts!! I love this stuff...but I'm carb sensitive..so.
  23. There you go! Thank you. sigh. I might never hit it.
  24. Mine was also six weeks for anything beyond walking.
  25. Can someone explain the term "onederland" to me? I thought it was when you lost over 100 pds. You know...Onederland. But I've seen people use the expression when they just lose past a point. Such as me at 340 when I finally hit 299, saying I'd hit onederland. You know? So which is right?
