It's night and day!!!! I only had to do liquids a week post-op but at 15 days out I'm still really not getting hungry so liquids were more 'oh yeah I need to eat' instead of 'oh my God I'm starving to death feed me now!!!!' It's pretty awesome the difference a day makes!!!!

It's 100% a break up. And I cheated too. In ways that were better than what it how much I would have ate before the liquid diet, but cheated none the less. On Christmas I murdered my aunts dressing lol but the good news... I'm almost 2 months post op. Have lost 43 pounds and haven't done anything I regretted food wise. I feel I'm finally free from that horrible relationship I was in. In the lunch room I secretly spy on others and can't imagine how I use to be the one eating ritz by the handfuls or looking at the "healthy" eaters eating 3 wedges of laughing cow cheese. I never thought I would have to track my calories to make sure I got enough in lol such a great change!

What nienie said but no make-up phone charger was a must. I ended up with a 4 day stay so extra drawers just in case. I also brought my own pillow....so much more cozy than the hospital pillows!!!! Plus I could hug it on the way home.

Well, you don't need much, I had underwear, chapstick, extra set of lounging clothes, tooth brush, lotion, makeup. I had brought a book but there was no way I was reading. I was so under the influence the first 48 hours from the Fentanyl PCA and patch along with nausea that all i did is sleep and when I became a real person on Saturday I worked on getting liquids in, walking and sitting up in chair.
the hospital will provide slippers, toothbrush, lotion, gown but I wanted my own. Pack light you won't need much and Good Lucki

On day 6 of the Optifast diet and kinda miserable. Saturday was awful, I was starving all day. I finally resorted to a small salad and felt a bit better. Sunday wasn't great either but I wasn't as hungry as yesterday. Maybe I was better with the Water and Snacks. It's all a blurr these days!
Haven't tried the chicken Soup but have almost gone through a box of Tomato Soup. I did add some garlic, onion flakes, Italian seasoning and Parmesan cheese to make it tolerable. Helped a lot and seems to make you feel fuller than the drinks.
I also have been mixing a vanilla and chocolate drink with some ice and a squirt of chocolate Syrup to make "milk shakes" Shared with my boy friend and 3 year old nephew and neither would drink them! Lol. I thought it was pretty good, so it must mean I'm getting used to them!

I'm still pre op so have no idea, but I totally heard my sisters voice when I read your post. I have only told a handful of people mostly family about the surgery because I don't want to hear any negative and unsolicited feed back. Today someone said "are you sure you want to do this...it's going to change your life forever". Well I hope so! That's exactly why I'm doing it! Just easier to shake your head and move on!

You know this is sorta like the question one might get when they have three or four children and people have the nerve to ask you "are you done yet?" I mean seriously is that rude or what. I had four sons and with each one everyone said are you going to have another and try for a girl, or are you stopping because you know you aren't ever going to get a girl. Well who the heck said I was trying to have a girl. I wanted my children. Sorry for the rant. People are just rude that is all. Nobody asks anybody if they are going to stop making more money or getting better at a talent. But somethings people just have to make their business. Sorry again can't seem to let this go.

I am on my second bag of the cheese sauce. It is pretty good stirred into things. I make a couple ounces of mashed pot with skim milk and a scoop of the cheese Unjury, very good, I have the chicken flavor and I don't love it but don't hate it. They both are a good way to change it up from all sweet. Their website has recipes and they usually mail you some recipes with your order. The cheese they don't have in individual size, so you could order the whole one of that and a couple of the chicken flavored in the individual size and see how you like them. I just put the cheese into some mashed cauliflower and it was pretty darn good.

Sure. First I buy fresh fruit and when I get home, I wash, cut, bag and freeze all the fruit. It's cheaper for me but if you want, you can just buy already frozen fruit. The sky is the limit on what kind of fruit you choose. I also use a magic bullet blender. To make the mango one, I use 1 mango, 1 peach, a cup strawberries, (sometimes a banana) a pear, a splash of Water or no sugar added apple juice, a scoop of Protein Powder a d depending on how sweet the fruit is, a little bit of splenda. If the fruit is not frozen, use ice cubes and blend. The chocolate shake I use 8 oz 1% milk, a packet of no sugar added hot chocolate mix and a scoop of Protein powder. You may add Peanut Butter, banana, no sugar added frozen yogurt (like the ice cream type) a tbsp of sugar free pudding mix (whatever flavor you like, I like cheesecake) The possibilities are endless.

Thank you for sharing, what I can imagine is a very embarrassing/humbling, experience.
From someone who would have had to learn the hard way..... (Probably multiple times) ....... I appreciate your decision to share.

She has lost 100 pounds (She's pretty close to her goal now) and a year later it still is coming off, a little at a time. Just when she thinks it's safe to invest in non-second-hand clothes, she goes and loses enough that she outgrows her clothes. Bummer of a problem to have, huh?
She also thinks it added a good 10 years to her life, and unmeasurable quality to it.

    1) Don't leave a note or leave while he's gone. Unless there are extenuating circumstances like abuse, that is not the proper way to end a relationship let alone a marriage.
    2) If you're unhappy, talk to him. Marriage is hard, I mean really hard. I've been married for 3 years (together for 6) and we've had our fair share of hard times. Open communication is key, if you feel like you can't talk to him about the things you're feeling, find a professional who can help you. You need to be honest with yourself and your spouse.
    3) If you're just nervous and worried about how things are going to be post-op, take deep breaths. A lot will change, that's for sure, but most of it is for the better. You will feel happier about yourself, and, if your husband is supportive, he will be proud, too. Has he been supportive of your decision so far?
It's completely normal to be nervous about what the future holds, but don't leave your spouse because you're afraid of what might be. Only you know the dynamic of your relationship and if being with your husband truly makes you unhappy, then it probably is best to divorce, but I can tell you this: I thought (quite frequently) about splitting w/ my husband pre-op, but I've come to realize, that it wasn't him I was unhappy with, it was me, and my life and marriage have improved immensely in the 2 months I've been post-op

I love compliments. The best compliment I ever got was the day I got married in October. I had busted but and lost almost 30 lbs in 6 months by dieting alone. It was a hard fought struggle, but I fit in my wedding dress that my mother-in-law made for me. When my husband saw me coming down the aisle he started tearing up and when I got to him he looked me dead in the eye and said that I was absolutely beautiful. At 307 I was stunning to him. It has given me the confidence to pursue WLS because I know that no matter what he will think I am beautiful. Now I can't wait for everyone else to see what he sees. I've heard comments from people in his life that didn't know I was listening, saying things like what does he see in her, she's just sooo big, she has a pretty face but..., etc.
Can't wait until I get the chance to have people ask me how much weight I've lost instead of when is your baby due?
