  1. LOL I know! After a liquid diet mash potatoe was heaven! try adding shredded cheese and a scoop of plain Greek yogurt (taste like sour cream & has tons of protein- even just a scoop is great)
  2. I am 28 and yes I had my rny on 7/25.
  3. That happened to my brother's father in law. He had 2 surgeries in 3 days and in the hospital for 6 days. 10 months out he is great, he doesnt regret it and is off all medicines. Feel comfort knowing it happens and they know how fix it. Praying for a speedy recovery!
  4. I don't have tri care, but I'm so sorry this happened to you. I am in the process of getting licensed as an mft/lpc and i can't believe she would waste your time like that. Stay positive and keep truckin! Best of luck!
  5. Ok so I'm supposed to get at least 60 grams of protein a day. Like most, I'm sick of them *just bored with them, not physically. But all the pre ops stuff all I remember was them pushing shakes! The food options I have are pretty high in protein. Question, if what I eat during the day gets me close to or at 60 does that mean I don't a shake? Or is it eat what's on my list and get 60gms from shake?
  6. Depends on you! Surgery wasn't painful for me... People who I know have had it are amazed how quickly I'm normal- even ready to go back to work. We waited 9 days wasn't the best, my hubby was afraid of hurting me. My doctor gave us ok at 1 week.
  7. My doctor said no soda ever, but if I had to it had to be flat. But I stopped drinking soda when I started the classes to get a referral to see surgeon. I kinda miss it but I also LOVE LOVE LOVE Starbucks Passion tea so I sip on that all day:)
  8. Don't regret your surgery, as said already you can't go back. Praying for you... Hoping its something they can treat/fix and get you feeling normal. Please keep us posted.
  9. Thanks! yeah I guess all docs are different, in the hospital I was clear liquid (2 days) the 3rd day when discharged I was on full liquids for a week & today I got all fish, mash potato, all cheese, Apple sause.... I mean my list is a good size. Just ate mash with cheese I ate like 3 small bites and that was enough. Let's see how tomorrow goes. I'm still scared... It's all new to my egg size stomach
  10. Hi everyone, so this afternoon was my 1 week post op appt. I'm down 17lbs from day of surgery. I feel good- I was excited about my new food list, went shopping came home and now I'm scared to eat lol. Haven't had food food in week and 2 days. Just thinking out loud... So week one down!
  11. Oh Roxy! My heart sank reading your post. I am 1 week post-op and let me tell you, been there done that! It's so hard losing weight, its so easy to just keep doing what we are doing. Change is hard and uncomfortable. On a diet we can salad all day long but still want a hamburger and fries.... You are young and it sounds like you are ready for change. Start a daily and weekly goal. Drink 64 oz of water daily, eat one salad a day and portions, find an activity you enjoy, eat breakfast, and the more protein the better. Don't be hard on yourself and make your health your priority. Sending you hugs!
