Thirft Stores? Bed Bugs?
LOL I guess I am not nuts!!!! I'll stay out of them and just continue to donate. Oh BTW, watch hats at any retailer. Lice love hats. That came straight from the Dept of Health. I am in HR so I have dealt with a lot.

Thirft Stores? Bed Bugs?
OK This is going to make me sound like I am nuts but I travel a lot for work and I know how pervasive bed bugs are and how easily they are moved around. Could they be in clothes from thirft stores? Do you bring home your clothes and wash them all on hot? What about dress clothes? Ever find them there? I have never really shopped in them and I don't know what to do. lol I am hoping this will be my best option for clothes for a while.

What's the latest you eat?
Yes, if you are hungry or empty then eat. I know I was only eating three meals a day and I was actually waking up in the middle of the night with low blood sugar and I am not even diabetic. So now I eat 5-6 small meals per day and I feel much better.

Questions?
HI! What I would do would be to try to educate yourself first. Is there anywhere you can go to attend a seminar on weight loss surgery? A lot of hospitals have them on a regular basis. Once you see if this is really an option for you, check with your insurance to see if they cover it. Some do and some don't. Plus each one has a different set of criteria you have to meet pre-op. You will be able to get this information and take it to speak with your dr. From your stats, you meet the basic qualifications. Once you are armed with this information, I would then talk with your PCP. I will warn you, some are OK with it others will freak out and try to scare you out of it. This way you are educated enough to have a thorough conversation.

Weight loss and stalling
Have you been keeping track of your measurments? I know during my two week stall I lost almost an inch in my waist. You have done so well!

Boobies!
Don, You are always here to offer us 'support' lol

What surprised you?
I am surprised by how hard it really is to drink all that water. I am surprised that I thought I would be farther along in weight loss already but I am forgetting that this is 'my' body. I am surprised that I can easily eat most foods. I am surprised that I really don't miss sweets but crave salt now. I am surprised that I have gained some confidence. I want to put a bag over my head less. I am surprised that no one has noticed my weight loss. How vain is that? I am surprised that my thighs are smaller. I am surprised at how hard it is for me to give away clothes that I had. I was REALLY surprised at the hormone rollercoaster after surgery. Crying, oily hair, zits, period from hell, etc. I was surprised at how caring strangers can be. This board has been amazing!!! Thank you

Hi everyone!
Hi and Welcome!!! This is the best place for advice and support. Everyone here is really kind and they are very helpful. I, like you, never had surgery before so I was scared crapless! I got through it and it is not that bad. I can say that it was much easier knowing what will happend and what to expect. I felt like an expert LOL. Feel free to ask any questions and good luck to you!! Time will fly by!!

HI! and Welcome! It is so nice to see that someone 8 years out is still doing really well. This is a great place for support. I have no idea what I would have done without this board and the great people on it.

body shaping
It may just be here body shape. I knew a woman that no matter how much weight she lost she was always twice her torso size in her hips.

Boobies!
Actually I'm a DD and my band size has gone down about an inch with 44 pounds. To be honest I don't want to go smaller than a D. Not that I want big boobs, there will be less sagging. I'm sure I will be smaller. Probably a C.

November 2012 Members Post Op
I had a pretty nasty rash from the pain meds the first two to three weeks. My dr told me to take Benedryl. It worked fine. But you may want to call your dr. Hope you feel better.

I am very careful and look for low carb/ low sugar. I do pure protein, NuGo Slim, Think Thin and Premier Protein. I know some people here do Quest but I have a hard time finding them. (I am sick of paying shipping for food.) I don't eat them all the time but I struggle with premixed Protein drinks so I use these for a quick snack at work or in the car. I usually break them in halves or thirds and put the rest in a baggie.

Straws? When can we use them again
Supposedly adds air to your pouch. Most Drs say it is a big no no like gum.

I've reached my goal!
Jen. That is so amazing. Congrats!!!

:( big issues
I am sooo sorry to hear that. I had a twisted intestine three day out from surgery. The staple grab the other side and flipped it close. NOTHING stayed down. I'd cough and water would come up. Ugh. Hope you feel better soon!!!

Hi all! How ya doin? I'm ok. I just noticed last night how much I eat with my hands now. I pick everything apart esp meat. Hoping to get more exercise in this week instead of snacking. I have a work trip this week so food will be hard. Thank goodness for protein bars.

Tangerines!
I found Dole mandarin orange cups. Only 40 calories packed in water. I have one when the citrus urge hits. Easy to digest.
