  1. I love wen. I won't use anything else. It's hard to get use to at first but the difference in my hair is amazing.
  2. Some people need smacked. Period. You have done amazingly well. I know it's hard but try to ignore her. This is a new life not a race and I know you know that. You will be way better off then her in the long run. Who brags about eating without puking. Gag.
  3. I do the same thing. I'm ten weeks out and just hit 40 pounds. But I have been pretty steady so that's a blessing. You are doing well so far. The stall at two to three weeks out is pretty normal. You body has been so shocked it rebells for a while. It's hard for us to not compare ourselves to others but we each have our own journey. Just follow drs orders and you will be fine. And we are here for you. Good luck!!
  4. Jess, you look great. Sucks about the hair though. Hope it stops soon. One of these days I will post up.
  5. You will be fine, well at least I think so. I was told the pre-op diet was mainly for fatty liver. Your liver is ok and you lost the weight you needed to so I cannot see an issue. I didn't even have one and no issues caused by diet. Good luck
  6. I am ten weeks out and have a cast iron stomach for the most part. I will get a little queasy but that's it. About a week or so ago I deliberately ate 1/2 of a huge oatmeal whoopie pie/gob and NOTHINIG! I was hoping that much sugar would trigger dumping. I am lucky but want the that fear since sugar is my weakness. Nope. BUT I did get extremely tired/fatigued the next day. I passed it off until I had a little too much sugar the other day and had mild fatigue the following day. Weird but it helps since I don't want to feel like crap.
  7. Sylvia, You are not alone. My exercise sucks. I WISH I had the motivation to zumba everyday for an hour like I see people on MFP. Sigh... I do the best that I can and I am getting better! baby steps But that's why I won't up my calories unless I get in exercise that day. There has to be a balance so my body doesn't freak out. It has a habit of doing that. I knew the exercise would be the hardest part of my journey. Just keep at it.
  8. Kell, It is so hard. I know I have been there. But don't give up. For this reason is why we are on this journey. My scale would go down five then back up four. I was so depressed. Just keep doing what you are doing. Keep trying to up your protein, it really does help. This is a long journey and you just need to take it day by day. Feel free to vent, yell and scream to us if needed. We are here for you. Just keep going. You will be so happy you did!
  9. Hi! and Welcome! Yes, the waiting will drive you a bit nuts but it is so worth it. This is the best place for support and advice. I wish you the best of luck and if you ever need anything or just support, don't hesitate to reach out! Good luck to you!
  10. I am ten weeks and I'm battling to hit 40 since surgery. I'm almost there. I have a meeting with my Dr tomorrow so I will see if I get any advice. I know they want me at about 900 calories a day and 70 grams of protein. When I get the protein in I seem to lose. My calories are around 750. If I can get in more exercise I'll up my calories.
  11. Yes, there is not one near me either. I have a treadmill at home. I need to get a TV or a tablet so I can watch tv. I get so bored.
  12. My first outing was back to the hospital but that's a different story. UGH So after that I think I went to the grocery store about a week after my second surgery. Felt pretty good just got tired. Just be really CAREFUL and don't over do it! When I went to my first Dr. appointment I reinjured my self getting out of the car and good grief did it hurt.
  13. Congrats to you both!! Jenn, You look wonderful!!!
  14. Yea! Congrats. Welcome to your new life. :-)
  15. This is my one vice. I do drink it. I take my Prilosec after it for the acid then drink some extra water.
  16. It does get better. I would eat one item at a time. I found then and even now mixing foods makes me feel off or slightly nauseated. But each week it gets easier. Hang in there :-)
  17. You can do it ladies! There will be chewing ahead! :-)
  18. Whoo hoo! Congrats. Welcome to your new life.
  19. My stomach will get this way. I found that if I keep it really 'oiled up' it seems to be better. I have been using Palmer's stretch mark oil (the stuff for scars and when you are pregnant) on my stomach and it seems to be helping. It breaks out my arms and back so I use just regular lotion. I think Aveeno and Gold Bond has an anti-itch cream. This may help too.
  20. hope all is well today! It is time for the new you!!!
  21. I am trying to get more protein and biotin as well. I am a Wen girl and that seems to be helping but my hair is long. I am going to cut a few inches off to make it look fuller.
  22. Good for you! I had some stuff from 2011. I had lost some and then gained it back (hence the RNY). but I am now almost out of those pants. In about 20 pounds, I am seriously in trouble.
  23. Oh Tonya, I am so sorry to hear this. I know how awful you must feel. I know there are others on the board that are struggling or have had similar issues and maybe able to help you. All I can offer is a hug right now and hope you get this fixed. Are there other doctors you maybe able to try?
  24. HI!! and Welcome! This can be a long and scary process but you have come to the right place. We are here to support you! I was terrified and the beginning as well but I found the more I research and knew the good and the bad, the better is it was. I had never even had a surgery before or been in the hospital so everything was new. I made it and so can you!! Never hesitate to reach out with a question or suporrt. This group has reeled me back in a few times. :-) Good luck on your journey!
  25. Wishing you all the best! It is a long road but you will be fine. Your daughter will be fine too. There maybe a little 'rejection' at the begining but just think about the wonderful new lif you will have with her. Let us know how you are doing!!! CONGRATS
