  1. Haven't gotten to 'last meal' thoughts yet. But my 'lasts', yeah. But looking at it in a celebration way. Not a 'death row' last. Going to a fondue restaurant next week since I've never been to one. That's a 'last' too. I've had a Blizzard in CA when visiting my daughter. Been there, done that one. Lol
  2. Have you been checking your measurements? if your exercising, maybe gaining muscle? I'm not post op, so only thoughts. Sorry. It will work out though. Hang in there.
  3. LOL Sounds good. I have plans to go to the original Peter Luger's for the best steak in the world! Not my last meal before but it's gonna be most memorable dinner. You enjoy! That's all that matters. And realize it's all a beginning!
  4. That's awesome! You go Girl!!!!!!
  5. Welcome, found a great place. For all parts of your new life. Amazing group of helpful peoples!
  6. Have you been checking your measurements? It must be difficult to see the numbers stop early but know that as long as you do everything right, it will happen. Since I'm pre, I can't pull from my experience in this but do know, as I got older, weight didn't come off as quickly. Plateaus hit earlier for me. I'm sorry your dealing with this so soon. But hang in. I know it will begin melting soon!
  7. Good for you Jenn! You're gonna do well!
  8. What a great POST! May borrow it, if needed. LMAO
  9. That sounds like a really good plan. You're on a cycle that is going to play havoc with your emotions. I can so understand all you're feeling starting with the office staff. I've had my problems with them in my Dr office too. They're evrywhere. Just realize, you're dealing wiht a lot right now you're not going to be able to handle everything that comes up like the 'champ' you are. Give yourself a break and only handle what you need to. What you can't do anything about, let it go. Try not to beat yourself up about 'things'. You have a long road, pace yourself. (I know, I'm beginning to) I agree about Atkins' plan too.
  10. Oh, you'll go nuts if you go around comparing you to someone else. Everyone's structure is different. Bones weigh different, muscles add weight. No one ever beileved my weight because I was always heavier than I looked. (And believe me they were NOT being nice to me!) You have to go by what's right for you. Don't make it more difficult on yourself.
  11. That's fantastic!!!! All the best!
  12. Haven't had surg yet but have heard of using child sippy cups. I suppose that is to regulate how much you get in one sip?
  13. Oh you are loking great! 25 is a fantastic loss and losing like that is better for elasticity of skin!
  14. I do hope your county has Women's Services in the Executive offices. They can be a big help. Do look into it even if you aren't doing anything now. Just to have the info for when needed.
  15. Well, you have lots to think about now. It's up to you how and when after you look into whatever can help you and your children to get out and grow after this. You will be fine. Don't do what I did and hang in for 31 years until he left. Get your life started as soon as you can. Much strength being sent to you!
  16. I can sympathize with you. But I am sure you both will find much better things to bond over now. More exciting too!
  17. You're getting some very good advice here. Lots of smart ladies. I was married 31 years. I didn't see myself making it that long but in my case, we didn't have to see/be with each other much due to the way he worked. (left in afternoon and dind't come home till middle of night, about 2 or 3 AM) As to Social Security, are you talking disability? There are lawyers that will take you through it and will only be one month of your payment. Seems worth it in the long run. Each state, I would think has that. I agree a councellor for you, women's services in your county should have free services. I know I utilized mine. They have free financial services too. Please look int it, may be a big help. All the best to you and don't let this get you into a hole that you can't get out of. Take the help you can for yourself. Hugs
  18. I can, and very sure most if not so many out there can relate to what you are saying. Almost all of us have our obsessions or triggers. Most wouldn't be dealing with this if it wasn't for depression. Why else let this happen in such a large way? I was married 31 years. If I was happy in my marriage and in my life, I wouldn't be just under 300 lbs. It's an addiction just like gambling, smoking, drugs, etc. Just not viewed in the same way by the masses. I don't have to tell you that. We live it. We're all here because diets and changing our eating habits/lifestyle won't work for us. We're too far into it to get out ourselves without choices, for the major amout we need to lose, being taken out of our hands. Just so we can take control in a real way. You see what's what and you know what has to be done. You'll be fine. I know it. Hugs
  19. Lol Have to say that one really helps get you prepared. As to the kitchen? Step by step instructions on what to have to make easy on you from pre-op through real foods. It's my "WL bible". LOL

  22. You and me both with the readings! Did you also get theWLS Cookbook for Dummies? Really loved that one! Will check out Skinny Jeans too. Thanks. All the best! OK just bought it.
  23. Thanks. Am going to try that one. Thanks to all the responses. I have some great ideas now!
  24. Oh great! Thank you so much!!!! I will. Bought a tub of Unjury unflavored protein and was looking at it and saying, "What now"!
  25. Thank you so much! It does help to hear from someone who has been there, Went to Dietician yesterday. Was hoping for more ideas of what I can use as substitutes for artificial sweetner but no...maybe I can get used to one of the natural ones I don't have such a strong reaction to?
