  1. Good luck. The bowel prep is the worst. I gagged on the magnesium citrate..
  2. Hope you're feeling better.
  3. When shakes dont have enough chocolate flavor I add a little sugar free Hershey syrup that will kick it up. 2 tablespoons are like 15 calories. You dont need much.
  4. I just remembered I have one of these. I need to start using it.
  5. I have my two week follow up and see the dietician on Thursday. I think I'm going to try increasing protein to 80 grams. I think I can do it with 2 protein shakes a day. This weight has to come off.
  6. Peppermint tea sounds good...
  7. Thank you. It is cheaper on there plus free shipping!
  8. Blue cross of north Carolina.
  9. No They aren't cheap. It was 33.99 for a 12 pack at vitamin world. Wish I could find them cheaper somewhere. I like the cookies and cream. I bought a single chocolate but haven't tried it yet.
  10. Has anyone tried the pure protein shakes that have 35 grams of protein. Post op the nectar ones are not agreeing with me now.
  11. Honestly I did the 6 month supervised diet and gained 15 pounds over the 6 months. Mostly because I stopped taking diet pills. I had taken the pills and weightless shots on and off for over a year. The weight gain did not stop them from approving my surgery. It's just one of the hoops that you are required to go through. I had my surgery July 3 and can already eat some soft foods. Don't get discouraged though. It will be ok. Good luck.
  12. Thank y'all. I have to try those.
  13. Have you tried upping your protein intake? I read in my information that hair can breakdown if you aren't getting enough.
  14. I have been belching alot since I had the surgery last Tuesday. I've been taking gasx and walking all this week. Still no relief. Anyone have any suggestions?
  15. I actually did the same thing a few nights ago. They talked about it in my preop class. Basically I was told that it is from eating or drinking a little too fast.
  16. I just downloaded the book. Thank for the info. Can't wait to start reading it.
  17. Congratulations!! Can't wait to get there.
  18. I was told no vacuuming for 6 weeks. That was the only housework restriction. I'm two weeks post op and my mom wouldn't let me do laundry. She was scared of all the bending and the basket being too heavy.
  19. 60 grams or more. Drinking a protein shake thing in the am helps me. I use the nectar ones. They have 23 grams of protein and mix it with 8 oz skim milk. 32 grams out the way 1st thing in the morning. I'd morning I have. Scrambled egg with a little over a Tablespoon of cheese. Thats 9 more grams. Greek yogurt also has a lot if protein. Deli thin slices turkey by oscar mayer has 9 grams for 6 slices. String cheese has about 6-7 grams. Hope this helps.
