I Want A Pop
My surgeon and nutritionist both said that they can stretch the pouch. I did try a sip of almost flat diet Pepsi and it hurt. It was like sandpaper in my pouch. No thanks... I miss it too but just can't do it.

How Many Calories Per Day?
I'm never hungry... not once since surgery! Now that I'm not in ketosis anymore my body tells me when it's been four or five hours since eating. Its hard to describe. Not hunger or pain and not really low blood sugar. Just a vague feeling. Maybe still head hunger which is very real. But no, no true hunger. Sent from my iPad using RNYTalk

How Many Calories Per Day?
At four months out I vary widely from 400-800 daily. Today I skipped lunch (bad I know but busy at work) so only had 250. Not a good idea... Actually have more energy when closer to 600-800!

- So Many Running Questions!
I just started running c25k and am loving it. But it's been 10 years since I really ran regularly and that was in a warmer climate. So...I live inPA and will now be running in 20-45 degrees for the next few months. Here goes... How do you keep your nose from running nonstop or do you just bring tissues? What is the best way to keep your face from getting windburn or chapped. I really don't want to wear a mask or neck gaiter. What is the best to eat/ drink the night before and morning of a big run bc the old days of eating lots of Pasta are gone! Any other good tips? Thanks! I've tried this...not bad when you have a craving but it took me at least 2 months to tolerate a 1/4 cup due to the lactose. Wouldn't stock up on too much dairy till you know if you can handle it. Sent from my iPad using RNYTalk- Chinese Food

- Am I Crazy!?!
I did the same thing and by the end of my two week mandatory I was so burnt out and really missed foods. But it is good practice for after. Maybe replace breakfast and lunch with a shake for now if you are really gung-ho and eat normally the rest of the day. Even this would help! Good luck!- I Made The Right Choice In A Very Short Time! Bump...again... There are lots of new people lately Sent from my iPad using RNYTalk- Rny Hurricane Prep
Thanks! I'm 3 months out so I can handle more texture but still very susceptible to sugars and dump easily. Can't do more than 8ish per serving. Great ideas! Sent from my iPad using RNYTalk- Rny Hurricane Prep
Sandy is expected to hit my area by tonight with the worst tomorrow.. And I realized that our storm prep is a little different after RNY. Of course we still need lanterns, Water, batteries, blankets, etc. But no longer will pringles (they store nicely), dried fruit, and granola bars be the key dried foods in our little kit...well they will be there for the kids but not me. It really made me think because over the past 3 months I've lived on yogurt, eggs, cheese, and fish - all of which can't be eaten/stored/prepared without power. So sadly the kit has ready to drink shakes and a tub of Protein powder - yuck! I can't handle beef Jerky and nuts yet because they hurt my pouch still. Any other non-perishable RNY friendly foods out there? I can't think! Thanks in advance- Post Op 2 Months Constipation With Red Nlood
Definitely better to ask than not. Red blood indicates fresh blood so probably from all the straining. Blood higher in the tract would be dark or black. A stool softener daily to keep it soft and a laxative as needed to help move things along is a good idea. Of course hydration is important too. You should be fine but if it continues call your doctor. Sent from my iPad using RNYTalk- If Not Food Then What?
Just basic relaxation techniques and positive self talk. Meditation and basic distraction have all worked for me so far. Lol I have been playing on my phone a lot at night and cleaning when urges kick in. Pintrest is a great distraction! Just gotta remind yourself that you can do it and being thinner and healthier is the goal.- If Not Food Then What?
I've been thinking about this alot lately. After having some very stressful and anxiety provoking days at work all I wanted to do was curl up hide and eat. But I couldn't and found myself searching for something that would alter my mood the way food did. And three things came to mind... Shopping, smoking, or having a drink. I said no to both and instead forced myself to really think about my feelings. Poor coping mechanisms helped us gain weight. I think the key is to avoid starting these bad behaviors and setting up healthier ones. I know -easier said than done!- Big Prayers Needed From My Rny Family
