Thank you mami!!! I'm just ready to do this and cant wait anymore it's been 3 months of waiting and now I have to wait longer but I can make and I will make it

I'm having my surgey done by dr. Kozar at western bariatrics surgical group and he told me that it would take 4-6 weeks until I have my surgery not to happy right now, I hope to get all of my other appointments done by 2 weeks and have the surgery sooner. But do I need a letter from the nutritionist saying I saw them? And how do they know if you went to a seminar for gastric bypass? And did anyone's surgeon make them pay for the pre op liquid diet foods they have at there office?

I go and meet with my surgeon tommorrw afternoon and I'm nervous and excited. I hope I can start my pre op diet diet the next day and have my surgery the next week. I have everything done( EKG chest x ray and blood work) I just have to see a psychologist and I'm on my way to a new life!!! Everyone has been very supportive on this site and I thank everyone so much, best wishes to everyone with their journey

@susie that's amazing how you only had to do a one day liquid diet I hope that's what will happen to me but fingers crossed I see my surgeon next week.

What about dipping? Can you do that after surgery? Because I dip and I have a feeling it's going to make me gag after I have the surgery.

@bert on my referral I have 4 visits one for a consultation and 3 for outpatient. Do I have to have a phyc. evaluation? And what's the least amount of days you can be on a liquid diet? I did everything my PCM told me to do for 6 plus months and it got to the point where he got me approved for all of my visits with a doctor in Reno.

I want to thank everyone for helping me figure out how long the process will be for me, I have tri care west and I live in nevada, I have all of my medical record I've done the 6 month diet and got my referral and have been approved, I just hope it's not a long wait to have the surgery.

I have tricare so they made me do 6 months of supervised diet and exercise before I got approved to see a surgeon. Thanks for the information

After your fist consultation how soon was your surgery? My consultation is on the 8th I'm hoping to start my liquid diet the following day and surgery the next week. Fingers crossed!!!

@roxy if you have done everything your doctor has said and you still have not been successful in losing weight then you should be fine with getting approved, I just got approved last week and go for my consultation on the 8th. If you have done a 6 month evaluated diet with your doctor then you should get approved, but when your doctor puts a referral in make sure to call tri care everyday and see if they have it so you can start your new journey.
