  1. Hi Shauni, Thank you so much for updating us. I've been thinking about him and wondering how he was doing. Please pass on to him all of our well wishes and tell him we can't wait for him to get back to posting!
  2. That's the spirit! LOL Good luck tomorrow!
  3. That is amazing!! Congratulations on your awesome success! What kind of exercise have you done throughout these 9 months? How much can you eat now as opposed to the first month or so?
  4. You can do it!! Keep the faith and know that we're here for you!
  5. Looks like you're a lightweight..I've heard that lightweights lose a little slower than us really fat people..lol
  6. cool! You're a lightweight! lol How tall are you? I'm only 5'2"....shorty. Funny little story...today I was sitting in the waiting room at the doctor's office waiting to be called back and I was chatting with the other people in there also waiting. 2 of us had been sleeved..one guy had the RNY, and one lady had the band. She was going on and on about how much she loves her band and has lost about 50 lbs. So then her phone rings and she answers it and she tells the person that she's at the doctor to get her band unfilled a bit because she's throwing up so much and just can't take it anymore. When she hung up she repeated that to all of us...so I was thinking. Are you SURE you really love that band? That doesn't sound like any fun to me! But then they called my name so I didn't get to hear the rest of the conversation. Strange how some people define love...lol
  7. How did it go at the hospital? What did they find out?
  8. The first week has not been too bad. It was nice though not having to do anything...my youngest is 15 so she's pretty self sufficient. My husband took care of everything and my parents were here for a few days too. I got lots of rest and I'd get up often and just go walk up and down my driveway. I had pretty bad acid the first day home but none since. I was pretty tired the first few days. Had a lot of bloating and gas and was burping like crazy. That has lessened significantly. Now I'm just still a little bit sore and still get tired pretty easily but that said that's completely normal. It's really not bad at all......take advantage of the help though and get as much rest as you can.
  9. If you don't mind me asking..how much weight do you have to lose? Do you have a goal weight in mind?
  10. Congratulations and welcome! I don't really have any advice...I just had my surgery last wednesday. Keep posting though..the more the merrier!
  11. Yep we all go through it. I sure did...especially as I'd never had surgery before except 2 c-sections but I was awake for those. It was much easier than I expected and not so scary afterall. You're going to do great!
  12. Does it help to dilute them some so they're not so tart? I've got a bottle sitting in my fridge that I've been too scared to try yet! lol
  13. I really like the Muscle Milk Light no sugar added RTD's. I like the banana creme muscle milk light powder too.
  14. I came home weighing 13 lbs more after surgery than I did when I went in for surgery. I've lost that now...tomorrow will be one week but I'm definitely still a little swollen in my abdomen. It's still a bit sore too.
  15. Hi Shasta, Congratulations and best wishes on your surgery next week! Go to Graphical Tickers and Trackers: Weight Loss, Trying To Conceive, Pregnancy... and go through the steps. Afterwards it will give you code to copy and paste..you will go to your user cp here and click on edit signature on the left hand side. Paste that code there.
  16. Hey I see you're from Louisiana! Me too...I'm in Mandeville. Who's doing your surgery?
  17. Congratulations and welcome! Do you have to do a pre-op diet? There are several band to sleeve revisions here so you're in good company! Please keep us posted on your progress.
  18. OMG..I know EXACTLY what you mean! I can't even do broth..it makes me want to hurl. And I've never been so aware of tv commercials about food! I can eat a whole jello cup at one time..just not first thing in the morning. I tried that the other day and could only eat 3 bites. But after a while...no problem. I was able to start drinking Protein shakes on day 5 and I've never been so glad for something in my life...just for some variety! Next weekend on day 10 I can add yogurt, creamed Soups, and sf pudding.
  19. What EVER! lol I just got back from my post-op appt. Tomorrow will be one week since surgery and I've lost 8 lbs. That seems kind of ok to me..especially since I came home weighing 13 lbs more than I did when I went in! She said I'm following the rules maybe a little TOO much. *banging my head against the wall* I got in like 70 g of Protein yesterday and about 65 oz of fluids (including my protein shakes). She said that was a lot for only being a week out. Here I've been forcing myself to get it in..scared of getting dehydrated..what the heck! So I guess I'm going to stop fretting about it and just chill out. She also told me to stop taking my PPI and the Symax and see how it goes without it. Hey..my BP was normal ...so that's a good thing!
  20. She told me it wasn't the best thing to drink..that it had a little too much calories. But...2 scoops of my prescriptfit powder gives me 220 calories and 28 g of Protein in about 12 oz. of Water. The OhYEah! is a 14 oz. bottle..although they do have 8 oz bottles also. She also said she'd prefer I find something with isolate over concentrate. It figures the one I really LIKE is the one I really shouldn't have!

  22. I have my post op appt today and I think I'm also meeting with the nutritionist so I think I will bring her a bottle and show her and see what she thinks. I'll also bring my container of muscle milk light. I'll let ya'll know what she says!
