Hey everyone!! I'm a Mississippi girl too!! I live in Iuka. I have BCBs ins that has the bariatric exclusion so I'm having to pay out of pocket. I considered Mexico but decided I want someone closer if I had complications. I have my initial consult with Dr Pinson this coming Wed. Excited and nervous.

I hit 80 lbs this week and am so excited!!! SW 267. CW 187. Yay!!!!!!!!! My goal was 100 lbs but the OB/Gyn suggests a minimum goal weight of 150. Either way I'm on my way. this has been so exciting and I feel so good. I had my 6-mo blood work drawn today and will see the Dr April 10th. I really feel everything will be looking GREAT!!!!!

I take juice a Plus every day and make sure I intake plenty of Protein. The only time I had Hair loss was when I slacked-up on the protein.
I hope you discover what the issue is-it's wakeful to lose your hair.

I was very worried about social situations and got thru the holidays without completely blowing it! I made the mistake of grabbing a regular plate at a recent get together. I totally forgot my limits and piled on my yummy choices. I didn't eat everything (as you will find out-you can't even if you tried) but I learned that the plate size is critical. I will never use a regular plate again-dessert plate or saucer. It looks full and holds more than I can eat.

Hi! I'm Janine and was sleeved on 9/24/2013. I'm 40 pounds down and still learning! I didn't use transformations so my post surgical protocol is a lot different. Good luck and keep us posted!

I'm from Ridgeland and just saw this thread and thought it would be neat to chat with a bunch of other MS and maybe even tri county area folks! I had my surgery with Dr. Kenneth Vick on Monday, 12/9/13! I am doing great but sooooooooooooooooo ready for the puréed stage!!
I work at UMC in Flowood,MS at our Grants Ferry clinic.

I also have stomach swelling - I've lost weight post-op but my waist/gut has not shrunk at all. I think my tummy is still in shock. Next week I will finally have my first post-op appointment with my surgeon and I plan to ask her when the swelling will subside. Of all the places I need and want to lose weight, it's my big gut!!!

I've been upfront with everyone. I'm excited about surgery and a newer healthier life. I don't really care what others opinions are. Most who have negative things to say are jealous or insecure of themselves! Good luck! You do what makes you feel comfortable

My Fitness Pal keeps telling me I'm not eating enough calories. I'm wondering if that is the reasoning for the slow weight loss. I was able to get my 1200 calories in and the next day I lost a lb. lol. Crazy that I struggle to get in what I could throw down in one meal. I'm happy that I cannot eat as much and I don't have a choice. I needed this surgery to help me. My surgeon told me my stomach was huge. No wonder I could eat a 1/2 of pizza. Lol

I did not want anyone to know I was having the surgery. I didn't want to be referred to as 'the girl who had WLS'. I hate gossip. I realized, during my pre-surgical program, that I needed a strong support group. I created a private page on FB and invited only the people I felt I could trust with my heart. It worked out great and while on the journey five months later I broke the news to the inlaws and explained why I never told them in the first place.
I tell you this because the old me would have stayed in my closet worried but now, 10days out, I realize I'm going to be okay and it's nice to have people to share the ups and downs with.

I'm officially no longer in a stall and lost an extra 5 lbs in just a few days! Wohoo! :-) Hope I keep losing...

Ok so I ate two pintos and cheese from Taco Bell. I should have only ate 1 1/2 Crazy how little I can eat. I used to pound down 6 tacos easy. Lol

I just realized that with my preOp liquid diet and postOp I have lost 6lbs per week on average. For a minute I didn't think I was losing that much. Crazy how our mind wants to discourage us into thinking it's not fast enough. Lol. I told myself to take a chill pill and enjoy this journey of living a healthy lifestyle. :-).

I am happy to say that 5 weeks out I'm down 35lbs! I have sooooo much to learn and tons of behavior changes to make but it's nice to see a little incentive! For those who've stalled-I did several times but it's like when there is a drop it's a good drop!
My loss is mainly in my face and neck. My boss tells me I'm the incredible shrinking head-I hope the rest catches up- I don't want to look like Violet!
