  1. I was sleeved by Dr Avara on 9/24/13. Am very happy with my decision and results. I am down 90 lbs and have 20 more to go. I couldn't have asked for a better group of folks to help me through my journey. Trisha is great and can get you motivated! Good luck!

  6. Welcome Brittanielynn! I was sleeved by Dr Avera on September 24th! The entire clinic is awesome!!! Please keep in touch-I don't live on the coast but try to get to an occasional support group. My biggest regret is not going to more-I find them valuable!!!

  8. I was scared of a leak at first-especially because I had a swollen belly for weeks after surgery. It took almost a month for the swelling to go down. Better safe than sorry! Are you adjusting to your new eating/drinking/protein plan?
  9. I hit 80 lbs this week and am so excited!!! SW 267. CW 187. Yay!!!!!!!!! My goal was 100 lbs but the OB/Gyn suggests a minimum goal weight of 150. Either way I'm on my way. this has been so exciting and I feel so good. I had my 6-mo blood work drawn today and will see the Dr April 10th. I really feel everything will be looking GREAT!!!!!
  10. Dee I'm glad to hear you are doing well! My side incision just about whooped my butt! Lol Keep walking and enjoy your new journey. ????

  12. SAMs Club sells a version called Juice Festive (in the vitamin area). It's much cheaper than Juice Plus and I think just as good.
  13. It's capsules that provide all the phytonutrients of fruits and vegetables without eating all the USDA recommended servings. I'm a firm believer this has helped me with some of the deficiencies that are so common. I take 2 fruits in the morning and 2 veggies in the evening. The only ingredients are fruits and vegetables-nothing else-i've watched a video on how they do it and it's pretty amazing. And, BTW, spellcheck wreaks havoc again! I was trying to type "awful".

  15. I take Juice a Plus every day and make sure I intake plenty of protein. The only time I had hair loss was when I slacked-up on the protein. I hope you discover what the issue is-it's wakeful to lose your hair.
  16. . I was eating regular food (chopped very fine) at two weeks post-op. Shrimp... At six-months out I can eat 2 jumbo shrimp and no sides at one time. You'll learn how to enjoy those foods and it won't bother you that you can't eat too much-as long as the plate is small! I still have trouble if my plate is too big for my stomach!I gave no limitations right now other than my protein intake. Keep us posted on your recovery.
  17. They are really great folks to work with. I am so glad I chose them for this journey. I hope to meet you at the support group meeting on April 10th. I'm headed down there for my 6-month checkup! I'll be thinking of you as you enter this portion of your special journey
  18. Hi! I had my surgery at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula and my surgeon was Dr Avera. If you send me your email I will let you know when I'm back in Jackson.

  21. I was very worried about social situations and got thru the holidays without completely blowing it! I made the mistake of grabbing a regular plate at a recent get together. I totally forgot my limits and piled on my yummy choices. I didn't eat everything (as you will find out-you can't even if you tried) but I learned that the plate size is critical. I will never use a regular plate again-dessert plate or saucer. It looks full and holds more than I can eat. Good luck on your new journey!
  22. Hi there! I live near Meridian, MS. I was sleeved on 9/24/13 and doing really well so far. I'm headed to Jackson for training all next week-anyone want to meet for a 'lite' dinner?
