  1. I don't know what you mean exactly by detox. I make all of my own soups using natural ingredients such as Soup bones, freshly chopped veggies, herbs grown in my yard, soaked and then boiled Beans, barley, and so on. I just make different soups out of what I have with no set recipes. I will sometimes use a recipe for something like french onion or cream of carrot, but otherwise I just add a ton of fresh veggies to whatever base I want, add herbs and spices, then eat. I will have to admit that I have never had a smoothie.
  2. Get down with yo bad self!!!
  3. I sent you a message Nevermore.
  4. I have BCBSTX and they cover it.
  5. Damn, that sucks! I just got back from mine and good grief, what a yawn fest. 370 questions, true or false. I wanted to write in at the bottom: is this the most annoying test you have ever seen? TRUE!?!?!?! At one point I was in the testing room alone and took a picture of the test booklet so I could show my husband. I only spent maybe 15 min. with the psychologist and she was very nice.
  6. Good luck and take all your pain meds!
  7. Ketosis is most likely the cause.
  8. Have you tried the Isopure clear liquid protein drinks? I think that is what I am going to use because the thought of those protein powder shakes grosses me out.
  9. I know how you feel. I had back surgery in Jan. 2010 and was not allowed to lift, bend, carry, or do much of anything for weeks. Neither son nor husband got it. I had to do laundry, feed cats, and a ton of other stuff that required bending and lifting. Hubby and son were clueless. It made me so mad.
  10. I am not sleeved yet, but I am hoping I can still eat Sweet Bacon Chicken Bites when I'm all healed up.
  11. I just followed your Paleo/Bariatric section on Pinterest. Some very good looking recipes there!
  12. Good luck! Come back and tell us how it went.
  13. I have mine on Monday morning at 10:00. What is 5150?
  14. Both my son and I love the homemade soups I make more than most dinners we have. I make veggie soup with a small amount of meat from a shin bone, split pea soup with a ham bone, minestrone with ground beef, potato soup with bacon and cheese, and so on. I hope I can continue to eat these soups once I am sleeved?
  15. Way to go, you rock!!!

    What is it?
  17. IDK, I would be popping an immodium. That doesn't necessarily mean it can't run it's course, just slow it down a bit.
  18. I am so sorry to hear that. I am 59 as well and have never had a scan. I guess I had better get my butt in gear and get it done.
  19. Would your doc allow an Immodium tablet? In comes in (vile tasting) liquid, too.
  20. I'll have a Lemondrop Martini, please. I wonder how it would taste with unflavored protein powder in it.
  21. Narcotic pain killers can really constipate you. I would suggest a daily dose of Miralax or the store brand. It can be dissolved in any liquid and is clear and tasteless.
  22. Obesityhelp.com and gastricsleeve.com. I like this site much better, though.
  23. I'm not sleeved yet, but I have been reading these forums for several months. There are tons of people that feel the same as you, but it does get better every day. Further down on the main page you will find a section on Support Groups and there is one for Australia sleevers. I wish you success and happiness!
  24. I'm going to use the beginning of my pre-op diet.
