  1. I was on my pre op 14 days and had 2-3 shakes, broth, and an occasional pudding cup. I lost only 8 lbs. and then gained exactly 8 lbs. in the hospital.
  2. My hubby and I fell in love before we met. He was a moderator on a computer related (geeky) website, which also had a blogging section in the forums. Months after my first husband passed away I started blogging about my life raising our young son alone. Hubby started reading my blog everyday and eventually PM'd me on the site to ask if I wanted to chat sometime. It turns out his wife had just passed away and my blog helped him cope with his grief. We finally met a year or so later and have been together ever since.
  3. I just told my son that my breath smells like dog poop. My pee also has a weird medicinal odor. Actually, I now smell like my husband who has been on a feeding tube for 18 months. I hope it goes away when I start on pureed foods tomorrow.
  4. My mother-in-law gave me a couple of her Lidoderm Patches and they didn't help my back pain at all. I have spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, and 2 lumbar herniated discs. When I am fully healed up I will look into using Aleve again or some other anti-inflamatory meds.
  5. Eating more will probably increase your weight loss.
  6. Before surgery oven baked fries were the only kind I ate, maybe once a month. shake them up in a ziploc with some olive oil and seasonings and they are delish. Even my son loves them.
  7. Not to mention the fact that it is boring as hell and more of a chat fest than a workout. I have joined twice and quit within 6 months.
  8. I sent you a friend request.
  9. I have a bottle of Piper-Heidsieck in the fridge which I have been gazing at longingly every time I see it. However, being only 12 days out I think I will save it for a few months.
  10. I want some roasted brussels sprouts and cauliflower. WAH! Now, back to my Premier Protein drink.
  11. I would just take some pain meds, sit down in a comfy chair, put your feet up and read or watch TV and nap. Let someone else do everything until your muscle pain goes away.
  12. GamerGirl has a blog with lots of sleeve friendly recipes. Check out the recipe section.
  13. Either homemade or Kitchen Basics broth. If using the boxed I heated it with some herbs to give it more flavor. Isopure Zero Carb Premier Protein chocolate Muscle Milk 100 sugar free Jello pudding cups, Dulce de Leche or Chocolate/Vanilla Swirl That's it, I didn't like the popsicles and hate vanilla Greek yogurt and the doc said no fruit in the yogurt.
  14. I just chose my insurance company's local Bariatric Center of Excellence.
  15. Yeah, how do you add friends without an email address? Mine is magtart@yahoo.com
  16. Well, I tried Calorie Count and find MFP easier so I am going back. My user name is magtart.
  17. I already knew my insurance requirements when I went on the first appt.. I just talked to the Doctor briefly and he looked over my health records and recommended the sleeve, Yay! Then I got a some paperwork with their requirements and numbers to call for setting up the psych evaluation and the nutritionist visit. Once those were completed and sent to my insurance I was approved within 10 days or so. All in all it took about two months from first visit to surgery day. Good luck!
  18. Congrats, great job!
  19. I take one Benedryl and one melatonin every night and sleep like a log.
  20. I'm in for my first challenge. I, too, will be only 2.5 weeks out from surgery. Might as well give it a go.
  21. I feel your pain. I am also 9 days out and haven't lost the 8 lbs. I gained in the hospital.
  22. Can I come over for dinner?
  23. It will take a while to get rid of. When I left the hospital the flannel snap-front shirt I wore there was tight across my belly because I was so bloated with gas and swelling. I am 8 days out and just starting to not feel all bloated.
