physc appoinment today

So after answering all those questions to the best of my abilty. She said i had severe depression. She said she wanted me to see 3 more times before surgery. I really wanted to get it done by December. Also does that mean it might not happen at all.

DANG! That is frustrating! I am currently seeing a therapist now separate from the Phsyc eval that is mandatory for the surgery. My appt is in November and I am nervous that this therapist will say the same thing too. Wonder what the re-precautions will be if they don't clear me. Would love to know if anyone else on here had this happened to them too.

Good luck and I hope you get to have your surgery in December.

To be honest with you i am not depressed. I just know I'm fat and want to lose weight. She just want me to keep coming back so she would continue getting paid by my insurance. This really sucks.

Similar thing happened to me. I scheduled my consultation with an approved social worker outside of the bariatric practice. First meeting she told me I had a great attitude and seemed to be very self-aware. Then she scheduled 2 more appointments. Learned my lesson! See how quickly your counselor can get you in. Explain your situation. Maybe it will help?

Did you have your surgery yet? If so did you really have to wait for all appointments with physc first.

I agree! They just want to build up their clientele for the money... Sad! I truly hope this does not interfere with your surgery plans.

Damn, that sucks! I just got back from mine and good grief, what a yawn fest. 370 questions, true or false. I wanted to write in at the bottom: is this the most annoying test you have ever seen? TRUE!?!?!?! At one point I was in the testing room alone and took a picture of the test booklet so I could show my husband.

I only spent maybe 15 min. with the psychologist and she was very nice.

Mine was over 500 questions, a half hour interview and then i had to interpret about 20 cliches. The testing did bring up some interesting things about me though, but nothing so serious as to delay the process.
