Have you ever slightly sped up your food stages?
I haven't had my surgery yet; but, I would say you need to stop and do your best to follow the diet to avoid any leakage or tears. But, mainly, because you have made the decision to change your life and it appears you are slipping back into old habits of cheating already. STay strong.

No carbs, sugar, pork, all pre-op diet
My doctor doesn't require the liquid diet before surg, just very strict. But, i know i'm a lucky one.

anyone else just get done with preop appointments and waiting for approval?
I'm waiting approval as well. My paperwork was submitted to insurance for approval on Aug 29th and was told that they have 30 days to decide. We are shooting for surgery around 2nd week of Oct.

If you did poorly on the pre-op diet, did it affect your sucess afterwards?
I think you're fine. I would try to follow the pre-op diet as close as possible; but, I'm sure you're not the only one to make a slip. I do not believe you're setting yourself up to fail post-op. After surgery, I'm thinking you will not want that stuff anymore anyway. Many doctors put patients on a strict liquid diet pre-op. But mine lets me eat small breakfast, protein shake lunch and a decent dinner with lean meat and green vegetable. So, I think you're fine.

CLOTHES, CLOTHES, CLOTHES
Thanks All! I, too, have thought about hitting the sales racks right now and start shopping for smaller clothes. I guess I'm just afraid that I might jinx myself..........lol.....I have failed so many times that I'm afraid of being a failure again.

100 lbs.....GONE!
OMG....You have done great!!!!! How much has been lost since surgery?

CLOTHES, CLOTHES, CLOTHES
Okay, this might be totally stupid, but, as someone who has to work I'm very curious as to how everyone has dealt with the loss of weight so quickly. I don't want to sink alot of money into clothes that I might only be able to wear for a month. How did other people deal with losing weight and going down sizes quickly?

Sleep study
I actually had one this past Saturday night. It was fine. It really didn't bother me as much as I thought it would. I had no problem in going to sleep. And, it was very helpful. Once they put the mask on me, I went to sleep and didn't wake up for 4 hours until the next morning.

2nd Week After Surgery
I agree. I noticed that MANY people have a pre-op diet of nothing but liquids. I don't have that. My pre-op diet is breakfast consisting of either egg, toast, fruit, or yogurt. (allowed 2) , lunch is protein drink and dinner is lean meet with green veg. Not near as strict as many of the pre-op diets.

I WISH I'D KNOWN....
I've never heard of a heating pad helping with gas pain. Please explain. I'm assuming you're applying it to your back.
