I had a boyfriend who remained friends with one of his ex's. we were at the "meet the friends" stage and she made it obvious that she had no desire to meet me. Barely said 3 words. Later found out that the "pet" name she and her fiends had for me was-- you guessed it--Godzilla. Presumably, because I was large and ugly (merely a guess since they have said anything to me).
So my name is a reminder that people may judge us, but their opinions never define who we are as people. At the end of the day, I can lose weight. however, there is no surgery to cure geriatric mean girls of their narrow minded bishy ways. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I'm nearly six weeks post op and am finally starting to see a difference. The first picture in each of these were taken one month before my surgery. The other pictures are from last night and last week at work (sad that the best full length mirror in my life is in the ladies room at work)

Dude! This is the best! Will save me from wasteful spending on culinary nastiness and hopefully introduce me to some tasty things I never would have tried otherwise.

Hope this picture shows up. Sleeved on 8/19 and down 31 since surgery (42 since preop). It seems like I've lost nearly all my weight in my waist and upper body. Began intensive lower body strength training to firm and "encourage" some loss there! Glad to see everyone doing well!

I'm far from done, but I basically lost a person from around my middle (32 inches). And I can finally wear prettier bras!

And one more thing, after watching my naturally thin friends, they all eat healthy most of the time with the occasional splurge. There really isn't another way that I have seen. Lynda

I am an attorney (or as my brother would say a liar-awyer) working for good ol' Uncle Sam, the United Stated Federal Government in the northern Mississippi/Memphis area. I'm a mere nine days away from beginning my sleeved life. I'm impressed by the diversity of professions represented on this topic, but there seem to be a whole lot of nurses.

I'm seven weeks post op and I have a looong way to go, but your pictures are an inspiration to me. i took some pictures this weekend and compared them to what I looked like only few weeks before my surgery (8/19/13). Can't believe the difference already and can't wait to see what I look like by new year's.
Also flew this weekend and it was the first time in YEARS that I fit in the seat without making the armrest pop up or having to practically jam myself against the window side so that I wouldn't "ooze" over to the adjoining seat! Flying has been a huge source of anxiety for me-so grateful for my sleeve!

When I actually get some, I'll let you know :-) but from what I'm reading here, I'm in for a good time lol

I knoooowww lol. It's the only reason I replied. You've been so supportive of me and I didn't want you to think that you were alone with your pre-op food funerals.
