There are clothing exchanges, resale shops, Walmart, clearance racks etc. You will definitely be looking for new clothes but there are ways to make it cheaper.

My doctor put abdominal surgery on my leave paperwork for work. Which could have been fibroids, hernia, or gall bladder for all anyone knew. However there may be some nosy Rosie's. that have no problem asking "what kind of surgery did you have". I just say I can't believe you just asked me that. I had surgery of a delicate nature and won't elaborate further. :-)

We all definitely have our own paths to lead and we each need to find what works for us. I think we each need to find the lifestyle which we feel we can maintain not for just a few months, but for the long haul. If that, for you, means eliminating carbs (non-veggie), then I am happy you have found what works for you.
Myself, no way. I do love the occasional cracker with cheese ... can't pass up a small piece of pumpkin bread, either. But, I try to balance this with some exercise or other clean living.
Cindy, I see you are crossing into the 6 month post op category. Do you feel you need to eliminate carbs because the rate of loss is slowing or are there other indications for which you feel you need to eliminate them? 'Cause, you know, even with perfect adherence, your rate of loss is going to slow ... right?
Like Back2Barb asks ... if it isn't too personal, many other sleevers may benefit from your struggles and issues with carbs.

I love my sleeve, (Peanut). He treats me awesome. A great helper is he. Carbs on the other hand, are my worst enemy, at least anything except green veggie carbs. I love the fact I have lost 95#s. I'm ecstatic my health has improved to the point I feel 10 years younger, and I'm not exaggerating. I started incorporating carbs back into my life about 2 months ago, as recommended by my physician. Healthy carbs of course, but still carbs. I have struggled ever since. I don't know why my body reacts to carbohydrates the way they do, but the impact is horrific. I am definitely not one of those lucky people who can eat what they want and walk away. I won't bore you with all the details of the last 2 months, but I will tell you I have had to come to grips with the fact I need to say goodbye forever, to carbs. I will continue to eat strawberries, no more than 3 at a time. All the green veggies I want, and that's it. I know this will put my weight loss back on track, just really sad it has to be this way in my life. I honestly felt once my diabetes went into remission my body would not crave them as much. WRONG!!!
I would love to hear how carbs effect others on here. Please chime in. I want to start a group called "Living without carbs, Whaahahah!" lol Think anyone would join me?

I have told my clinical manager, but other than that I will be taking a vacation. I have lost a rather large amount of weight in the work up and have drastically changed my eating habits. So hopefully I will just move forward without any questions. If I do get questioned I will just day that I have lost many things, including weight.

I'm seven weeks post op and I have a looong way to go, but your pictures are an inspiration to me. i took some pictures this weekend and compared them to what I looked like only few weeks before my surgery (8/19/13). Can't believe the difference already and can't wait to see what I look like by new year's.
Also flew this weekend and it was the first time in YEARS that I fit in the seat without making the armrest pop up or having to practically jam myself against the window side so that I wouldn't "ooze" over to the adjoining seat! Flying has been a huge source of anxiety for me-so grateful for my sleeve!

(This post shows up a little better on my blog because I can intersperse pics with the narrative, so posting the link in case it's easier to see there: http://sleevers.wordpress.com/2013/10/15/when-it-comes-to-weight-loss-trends-matter/)
I woke up a little anxious today. I’ve been obsessing about this whole weight loss thing. I’m counting calories, Protein, carbs obsessively. I’m so hungry that I’m hangry (hungry + angry). I’m worrying about whether I’m eating too many calories even though I’ve stayed under 800 calories. Every half pound up or down on the scale is driving me crazy and I’m taking it personally.
So I decided to do what I do best, which is to look for trends in numbers and to use numbers to tell a story. There are three pictures below.
The most depressing is to look at my weight over 7 days. Oh, see the stalls! Oh woe is me! Clearly I’m failing! oh no! I cut 85% of my stomach out and I’m failing!

I take a deep breath and look at my 30-day trends. Hmm, maybe it’s okay? I still see those flat lines that look like stalls. I dunno. But hey at least I see some drops. It’s looking a bit better.

But I wonder what it looks like at 90 days? After all, I’m in this for the long haul and so perhaps I should have a longer-term perspective. So let’s look at a 90-day trend.

Whoa! What do you know! All I see are steady declines. I don’t see the stalls that much anymore. Rather what I see is a line that consistently goes down. Perhaps I’m doing okay after all. I now see a trend line that is reassuring, that is different from what I’ve achieved before, and that I believe will continue for a while.
Now to keep this perspective throughout the week ahead and not get frustrated. I need to do this because I'm driving myself (and my husband) nuts.
What does your trend line look like? If you're on MFP or any other app tracking your weight, do this and see for yourself. Would love to see them posted so we understand that success isn't a straight line down, it's a line that generally trends downwards.

HEY GUYS!!!! The stall is FINALLY OVER after over two weeks!!!! If anyone is interested, FYI mu calorie goal is 900 but I usually eat beween 900-1200 calories..however I do frequent the gym to earn those extra calories... So I net about 500 calories appoximately...
If you hit a stall DO NOT BECOME DISCOURAGED... it will pass...
And yes I too get bored of Protein powders (NO MORE chocolate powder ew!) But Syntrax makes a bunch of good flavors that are nice to switch up...My fave right now is fuzzy orange and the latte one.... Most of my food is lean meat...It fills me up... and I am not eating simple carbs that I am addicted to...like rice or Pasta...
rice is the devil in food disguise as far as it goes for me...
I am so glad that stall is over... It sucks knowing weight loss won't be as easy as it was in the beginning, but I won't stop till I lose that 100 lbs! For me that means logging ALL my food, taking all my Vitamins, workout at least 40m minutes of cardio at least 6 times a week and eat Protein as my main food source... AND not giving up when I have a bad eating day or haven't seen any losses for awhile...
    WE CAN DO THIS

yeah, i used to be embarrassed by having to sit in the "double" seats in waiting rooms and always wanting to ask for a table instead of a booth. Isnt it an amazing feeling to not have to be scared to basically live life? congrats to you guys too!
