I don't usually like to post pictures but I will because this is such an awesome accomplishment for me! Thanks so much for your support guys! I owe a lot to you. Also remember if I can do it ANY OF YOU CAN TOO!

feelin' Blue
Poor you. I felt really depressed for a few weeks after the surgery. I think it causes some mild depression in some people. I felt GREAT after that though and you will too. Take care of yourself.

Couch to 5K
I f(#*@)(# did it! All four miles! It took about 48 minutes which is about a 12 minute mile. WE took only one 1-minute break at the 2 mile mark for Water. It was by FAR one of the best things I have ever done in my life. My friend's husband got pics of us running and I will try and upload tomorrow. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

8cc fill w/ a 10cc band...y am i still hungry???
Hi Trystelle, I have the VG band and my restriction doesn't last more than 3 weeks. I still have some restriction but it seems to fade away - is that a VG band thing? I go in for another (4th) fill on Friday and really hope that this one will last longer!

New York Bandsters?
Hi fellow Nyers - Anyone here from NY hospital?

Last Year at this time...
Things looked different didn't they? For me at least they did. I had no hope of losing weight. I was tired all the time. I was in a relationship that didn't make me happy. I was CRANKY! Now I am so much more fit. I am also hopeful about making it to goal and losing another 50lbs in 2008! Happy New Year Everyone!

Countdown to Onederland!
You should make it by Tuesday for sure don't you think? I am stalled at 207 and not expecting to lose much more before my fill on Friday. THis despite spinning 4-5 times a week and running! Frustrating.

JulieNYC's medial thigh lift, breast augmentation and mons lift
Hi Julie - first of all you look fabulous! You must be so excited. I am sorry to hear that you are draining so much, or that you are having a slower recovery from the last surgery - remember how much your body has been through recently. You owe it to yourself to rest before you get back to rat race here in the city. My port sticks out a lot and I have barely lost 1/2 the weight that I am planning to lose. How soon did your port start sticking out? Mine gets in the way and I even saw it through a wool sweater ( a clingy wool sweater) that I tried on the other day. I am also very hour-glassy and carry most of my weight in my boobs and in my butt and hips. I did discuss it with my surgeon who said we can change it/move it when I am closer to goal. He never mentioned putting it below the muscle but that sounds like it would be super painful to fill/unfill. I am very curious to see the difference with the low-profile port. Rest up and take care of yourself! K

Been pb'ing for an hour and a half now....
This has never happened to me but I noticed that nobody has answered you yet. I hope you are feeling better. Have you tried taking a deep breath and holding it? That sometimes helps me if I feel stuck. Good luck!

Is it bad not to want a first fill?
There is no "bad" only preference! Whatever feels right to you.

Nutritionally imbalanced? Be honest
Hi Julie - you are always such a good poster that I thought I put my thoughts in. I think it is really great that you are taking some out so that you can eat solid Protein. For one thing it is more sustainable, and also of course your health. WW is a good program but I have never tried it with the band. Good luck!

I am fuming with my Doctor's office !!!
I just realized you already answered that. You probably don't want to go all the way to upper east side for an appointment. Good luck!

I am fuming with my Doctor's office !!!
Hi Lisa - what doctor/hospital are you at? I am at NY Hosp. and althought I wait sometimes I have been overall pretty happy.

Countdown to Onederland!
So close Tracy! I have been watching your progress because you started at basically the same weight as me. My goal is a little bit lower than yours - I guess I am shorter! Good luck getting to onederland by new years - I dont think I will make it (207 today) but surely I can make it in Jan. which is just fine with me!

My band hurts...HELP

Mushies after a week?
My post - op diet put me on mushies or what they called pureed food from 3 days out until 4 weeks out. I would follow the plan that the doctor gives you but if you are allowed mushies there are tons of things you can eat. One of my favorite was veggie refried beans with a tiny bit of cheese and fat free sour cream melted over it. Another favorite withe cheese was spagetti sauce and ground turkey put through the food processor with parm. cheese on top.
-
the last hurrah?
I had a few things steak and a big mac. The thing is that most things I could eat after I was done with the special post-op diet and before I got restriction. I did manage not to gain weight before my surgery which I think is a good goal. Somehow I don't feel deprived by the things that I can't eat - tough meat and white bread.
-
How much could you eat before your first fill?
I could eat a lot. Don't worry until you get fileld up. Even then don't worry - it takes time - I am getting my 4th next week. I was impatient at first now I realize that slow is better because I am slowly adjusting to my restriction so I make fewer mistakes. Good luck and congratulations!

Couch to 5K
Whos - thanks! I have only run about 2 miles so far without stopping. Mybrother claims that if I can run one mile I can run 4 but I am not so sure! I can always take a walking break right? Plus, it is at midnight so dark and nobody will see me!
