Campbell's has many 98% FF Cream Soups. The best one I've found is the Broccoli cheese. My Doc still has me on Clear Liquids till Saturday. I can't wait till I can have full liquids again. I've had a really had a hard time getting down any and all clear Protein mixes and liquids. After the first sip, they make me gag.

Hello, my sistahs. Lord willing I will have my sleeve on September 23rd. Looking now for the best Protein Shakes that have over 30 grams of Protein and is tolerably tasteful. The shots are an option but I guess I will have to try them for myself. I am already taking Biotin because I too worry about Hair loss. AND, I may purchase me some hair.< /p>

I don't have the time and experience that you do, but I realized today that "breaking up with food" is a lot like breaking up a guy who is bad for you. You do it, but at first, you miss the loser! He wasn't the nicest guy and he was really, really bad for you, but there was this something cute about him...and those flowers he used to bring you...awww!
I don't know why I didn't realize it would feel similar to breaking up with someone (something) that you loved.

I'm not one to have any great advice, but what I'm doing is trying to turn it over to God and follow him where I feel he is leading me. I'm nervous about it because it is going to be a huge change and I've never had major surgery before. My relationship with food has changed over the pay few months and after surgery it will significantly change. I'm happy and at ease because I'm being lead in a healthier direction and that is better for me and everyone around me.

Made these for dinner tonight- 1 was more than enough for me (plus salad). The other adults in my family each ate 2. We all voted this is a definite do again!!!! Portion controlled.
    Lasagna Cupcakes
2 cup marinara sauce (I just used 1 jar)
3/4 pound ground beef or turkey
    24 wonton wrappers
    8 ounces shredded mozzarella
    3 ounces Parmesan cheese
    4 ounces Ricotta cheese
    (optional) basil for garnish
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spray muffin tin (12) with cooking spray.
Brown beef and season with salt and pepper. Drain. Add sauce. Mix.
Begin with a wonton wrapper and press it into the bottom of each muffin tin.
Spread with a small spoonful of Ricotta cheese.
Top with a little meat sauce then some parmesan and mozzarella.
Use around 2 teaspoons of all the ingredients depending on your personal preference.
    Repeat layers ending with cheese.
Bake for 18-20 minutes or until edges are brown. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes. To remove use a knife to loosen the edges then pop each lasagna out. Garnish with basil (if desired) and serve.

LOSE is the word to use when you are trying to LOSE weight.
LOOSE is the word to use when your clothes are getting LOOSE while you are losing weight.
LOSING is the word to use when you are in the process of LOSING weight.
LOSER is the word to use when you think you are a slow LOSER.
LOOSER is the word to use when your pants are LOOSER than they were before you lost weight.
No, I am not the grammar police. Yes, you can search my posts and I am sure you will find many grammar errors.
Seriously, this is a weight loss forum and it drives me crazy when people do not know the difference between lose and loose.
    Ok, my rant is over...

Hey my surgery date is on the 29th and I have all of those same concerns, but if its my time to go I trust in God and I'm willing to go where ever I'm called .
I have had some great pre op weight loss results almost 30lbs ,and I day and half to go. I will keep you in my prayers when I go to bed. I'm so mad at myself for my health choices but I do understand it was all my fault and no one else. I know this surgery is best for me because I have been that loyal person to diet and eat properly work out, I paid for high priced foods like Nutrisystem and even had better success doing it naturally but I gained it all back. So I'm great at dieting but trying to keep it off I'm not good at that at all.

I have the same concerns. I start my liquid diet Monday and have no idea how this is going to wk. I don't wk in fast food but I have a teen, a tot and a husband to cook for. Hopefully our determination will keep us strong. I have done spiritual fasts before (not for this length of time) maybe I will try to do it that way. When it's time to sacrifice that meal try prayer and study. Good luck. Keep us posted and I will do the same.

greenivy reacted to goirish78 in Too "small" for surgery?
I was just sleeved on Monday, also with no co-morbidities but at a high BMI (57) after a literal lifetime of dieting and exercise (first diet started at 6 mos old when my mother was ordered to stop breastfeeding as I was gaining too much weight; my first WWers meeting was when I was 5 years old). I'd just like to make two points:
    1) "Society" is in love with hypocrisy: according to the "general view", we're all supposed to be thin. If we aren't naturally thin, and we diet and exercise, we're often made fun of at the checkout line of the grocery store for being fatties buying healthy food and at the gym for being fatties on treadmills, bikes, etc. When those same diets don't work long term, we're derided as failures. However, if we try to accept our weight and live as healthfully as possible, we're chastized for being fat, lazy slobs. Then, after years of this nonsensical Catch-22, some of us seek out a surgical intervention, and are rebuffed yet again for not having done Step 1 adequately, and accused of not having enough willpower. Call me crazy, but I think that "society" can shove it.
    2) So who isn't subjected to the above scenario? People who are naturally thin (whether they eat healthfully or exercise or not) and people who maybe had a little weight to lose at one point, and were fortunate enough to have metabolisms that toed the party line and got them down to where they wanted to be with small diet changes and exercise. Once in awhile, you have the "unicorns" (as I call them) who do it all with diet and exercise and lose substantial amounts of weight (in my book, >40-50 lbs) and keep it off. You know what? Those people are literally less than 3-4% (depending on which research you're reading) of the number of people who lose weight. And they're generally only accepted by the former groups if they constantly proclaim how they're a changed person and finally saw the light, etc. etc. (i.e. divesting themselves of who they were before).
Thus, for whatever it's worth, after a lifetime of observation, I've arrived at the following conclusion: Do what YOU think is right for you, and to hell with everyone else's opinions, suggestions, comments, etc. no matter how well-intentioned (or not) they may be. Only you know what your journey has been, and only you can decide what your journey will be. Surgery has risks, possible complications, is kinda scary, and will be a lot of work, and that's just the first part. It all comes down to really weighing the pros and cons in your situation and making the decision that you feel is right.
    Good luck and be well!

I'm not far enough out to see anything sagging (due to the sleeve at least) yet. However this was and is a concern for me. I thought about this a lot pre-op.
What kind of sealed the deal for me was when one of the Vets told another newbie (parapharasing) "No one ever sees someone walking down the street and says WOW, that's a lot of sagging skin, but they do say WOW that's a lot of weight/fat". That got me to thinking, better to have sagging skin than 100s of lbs of extra weight.

I worked out before surgery....probably 3-4 times a week. But I've stepped it up even more since surgery......now 5-6 times a week. I still think my body needs a rest day every week, so I try not to go more than 6 times a week. I do think exercise has played a key role in my lack of saggy skin.
